I'm not suggesting crossbows produce **_more_** recoil than a rifle; far from it. Part I don't like about it = It's a bit big and heavy. I haven't completed the setup yet, but it seems like a pretty solid scope. Looking forward to completing the setup and hitting the woods soon.
That woodchuck mount is awesome! Wish we had ‘em here in Texas…I’ve taken to shooting squirrels. Not easy to do with a crossbow! So far 10 shots and only 2 kills! 😢
I’ve had to send my Burris Fast Fire 3 red dot back twice. Glad they have such a great warranty cause I needed it. I couldn’t trust it, it’s gone. I also went to Toyota years ago 👍🏻👍🏻
Rich I love your new introduction video! Great work! And that was an amazing shot that OB made at 80 yards! I came so close to buying one from NACHEZ at $499, but decided it was still way to complicated for my limited technology skills! Keeping it simply and planning to hunt the entire FALL every month! Well the benefits of being retired!
Have declared war on the groundhog here. They are digging holes all around the neighbors' buildings and my own. One pushed its way into my garage apartment and "dug up" the linoleum at both doors, I mean shreaded it, and tore out a piece of dry wall. I shot three with a break barrel air rifle and one with subsonic .22. I purchased a PCP air rifle and shot two more. I only recovered two out of six. The other four did the "self burial" thing and made it to their hole. I also missed one at 27 yards with crossbow on video. Never have tried to eat one.
Wood chuck is very good eating to bad it got to it's hole I'm not too sure about scopes but I will withhold saying anything until I try them thanks for sharing this three stars

Rich, I think you bought a needs to be refurbished scope. All the refurbished ones I've seen are way more than that. It sounds like the shop took that scope back to make a good customer happy and he's selling it to recoup his cost.
I was going to pull the trigger on a second one maybe not now the one I have works great.. i did pill out unreliable nitro today and put the scope that came with it on and still have trouble with accuracy. Starting to think reverse draw bows are the problem i see a lot of other people have the same problems.
Earlier today I sent my 35-day old Burris Oracle X back and received the same lame email stating they are going to make me wait 5 - 6 turn around. It cost me $46 for UPS ground to send them a brand-new optic back to be fixed, I got to say I'm very unhappy with Burris, and when opening weekend comes and it's not mounted on my crossbow, I’m going to be even more unhappy.
Sorry to hear about this issue. I too want to love my Oracle X. It's always worked for me but I've only had it ONE year. I'm used to scopes on my rifles that i purchased as a teen-ager, still work 50 years later as well as the day I bought them. Can the Oracle X do the same? I have my doubts.
I looked at the Burris and the Garmin when they hit the market. I decided to stick with the TenPoint Evo X marksman scope. I just cannot trust the electronic scopes when it comes to bow hunting. I do use a ATN for night hunting hogs. Losing a hog because of a scope problem is not like losing a trophy buck
I had the exact same problem with my Burris Oracle X on my Tenpoint Nitro 505(old version without scope strutts). Not the case with my Ravin R29X. Consistent bullseye drilling at 80 yards. Not the case with the Tenpoint. You breathe on it wrong with that heavier Burris scope on that janky Tenpoint mount. You can kiss your arrow bye-bye if you so much as think of shooting out to 80 yards. What is irritating me, is that Tenpoint isn't providing a solution to retrofit the older Nitro 505 crossbows. It's like they're saying "thanks for your money sucker". If you want the problem fixed, you have to buy a brand new crossbow. Yep, I did exactly that, by buying a Ravin.
Good for you, I don't have a problem with your decision at all. I've commented on that and kind of thought the same thing about tenpoint. On one hand, I get it that when they released those they might not have known that larger heavier Scopes would become popular. I get that. But when you make a work around for the new models, they should have included a way to retrofit the old ones. 100%.
Still researching the subject, but there is literally nothing out there. The HALO is not being made any more and I am researching the Pard NV008S(LRF) ( popular among air gun folks ) to see if it's for us or not. Everything except the Halo Hyper X Laser-Rangefinding Crossbow Scope is in the $1,000 range just like Burris. The Halo looked great but it's not being made any more. The fun thing about the Pard unit is it's also night vision ! Remains to be seen if it's a proper ranging reticle though.
I had a Burris not power on that I had to send back as well a year or so ago. I love the scope though or I would get something else. I agree it is very frustrating though and makes me concerned about it.
Sorry your having these issues, seams like all sudden this scope is failing. Ive never used a burris oracle X myself, but i have the Garmin X 1i on my tenpoints for 2 years, no problems, im not going yo compair them, in a vs battle, i hope that you get it working great again, once you loose trust in something, you never fully trust it again, thats the way I am. Good luck Rich happy hunting. And god bless
I love your show! I just bought a new tenpoint flatline 460 w/burris scope!! Now I'm wondering if I should take it back and get other scope. I wish I would of seen this show sooner! Is your other burris scope still working and for how long?
@one-eyedarcher503 when I am able to leave the house I will be buying one! And all cause of u and cause of rich and the forums thank u so much for that I really appreciate it!
I also like the Burris oracle X crossbow scopes and have two currently with no issues. One thing I did find and corrects was that there are two screws that hold the scope to the mount. These will come loose so I used blue loctite on these as one of mine worked its way loose. Did you happen to check this before sending the scope back? i love your videos by the way. I have been crossbow hunting in WV since they started to allow them back in 2013 and love it. Hardly ever rifle hunt anymore.
that scope seems decdent but for the price i have heard so many horror storys and you have confirmed it yhou can always try the omega 3 scope granted its not so much a scope has its a video screen lol sadly last season i used a KI lumin speed ring scope and i can be shooting perfect then the next day its off by a few then missing completely like you seid i put my stock scope back on and it was perfect again but the 81 yard shot was awsome perfect airstrike on the woodchuck
Have you tried the "working" Oracle X on Bunjie 3.0? In the slow mo video the scope moves a lot! I wonder if the Oracle is just too heavy for the mount?
Damn, them things get pretty big, a? In all my years of living in Michigan, I've only seen one. And that was in a subdivision area, or I worked, couple years ago. At first I couldn't figure out what it was. Absolutely blew my mind. Never seen one up close before. You say they're good eating?
I thought this crossbow appreciation month was going well, with no dry fired bows. At 16:13 of video, I knew this was serious by the look in your eyes. The 81yd shot was like a javelin missile. I have no idea what's going on with these scopes???
Thank you for this, you kind of made my afternoon, you are right that it could be worse with a dry fire. We're going to have to wait and see what's going on with those Scopes and I will continue to update you of course. That look at 1613 is pretty funny!
you know I had also purchased one of those scopes off of your links and I also sent mine back and got my money back because the technology didn’t work right in it. Also, I didn’t get a remote in with mine… so you and I both had this issue of getting a bad refurbished scope so that tells me that they are not doing a very good quality control job at actually fixing these units and maybe they’re not testing them far enough… I hopped on the wagon for the scope this year I had two units that I owned had to go back because they did not function correctly. I spent $200 out of my own pocket just to test these units. I am done with burris and I will not hunt with that scope. I could not imagine lining up a perfect shot on a deer and pulling that trigger and either missing it or even worse gut shooting that deer because the scope was off
I did shoot a deer with it last year, and when they work they work great! The one that I bought at discount did not come with a remote either but the company was real quick to tell me they'll send me a remote. We shall see, story continues to evolve.
I got a wicked ridge blackhawk 360...cheapest xbow tenpoint had and cheapest my local archery shop had😉 definitely wont be pulling off any 50 yard shots with my 505g arrow but its all good. Life is easy😉
I did a big side by side comparison before I picked this one. I really do prefer it and I want this one. The Garmin maxes out at 80 yards and has way too much on the screen, too many features for me.
*And it gets even, **_EVEN_** worse. If the rumors of new incoming lockdowns, etc. are to be believed, I'd multiply their estimate of 5 to 6 weeks by 2 to be on the safe side.*
I was hoping it was that simple. Everything was tight and then I took it off and check the screws underneath and those were tight too. Unfortunately I think it's something internal. I'm anxious to find out what the company says.
Are you really getting ride of the scopes? Are they really not worth the money I just bought a brand new one because of your videos then I see this when I got home
I'm very frustrated of course but I still believe these Scopes are the future of crossbow hunting. Maybe not this model but this kind of scope. Right now, for what's out there, this is my best option. I'm going to give them another go! When they work, they work fantastically!
@@Deathbybunjie glad to hear that I will keep mine I was like I am bought to return my crossbow scope right now. You got me into hunting this will be my first season hunting. I live in Maryland any good tips also I tried getting the cheek piece you have but I can’t find it

Don’t count on me to buy one from you. Lol. I’ll be keeping the DLX on my Excal. Hope you still have a couple laying around.
I have three LOL
@@Deathbybunjie that’s good. I’m now giving mine up. Lol.
Similar to the movie Tommy Boy, warranties are great, but I'd prefer a quality product.
The other one works perfect, that's the one I shot the woodchuck with.
Here we go 😆
Love ur write up on the swat x1 on cbn!
😄
@@Derrek4Real Thanks man! Appreciate it! Love that bow. 🥰
@one-eyedarcher503 when I am able to leave the house I will be buying one! And all cause of u and cause of rich and the forums thank u so much for that I really appreciate it!
@@Derrek4Real O boy! I hope everything turns out OK with it. Thats a lot of pressure on our shoulders. 😆 It will! 👍
After watching this kinda glad I stayed away from this scope. Leopold vendetta mounted on mine. 4 yrs now no issues
I did check that after I took it off, but you.can bet I'll check it before putting them on from now on too
I would add the loctite so there is no issue down the road. Interested in seeing what Burris says about the scope.@@Deathbybunjie
that scope seems decdent but for the price i have heard so many horror storys and you have confirmed it yhou can always try the omega 3 scope granted its not so much a scope has its a video screen lol sadly last season i used a KI lumin speed ring scope and i can be shooting perfect then the next day its off by a few then missing completely like you seid i put my stock scope back on and it was perfect again but the 81 yard shot was awsome perfect airstrike on the woodchuck
Have you tried the "working" Oracle X on Bunjie 3.0? In the slow mo video the scope moves a lot! I wonder if the Oracle is just too heavy for the mount?
Could be that... it was working so well on the OB that I didn't want to take it off but looks like that's the only option now
Damn, them things get pretty big, a? In all my years of living in Michigan, I've only seen one. And that was in a subdivision area, or I worked, couple years ago. At first I couldn't figure out what it was. Absolutely blew my mind. Never seen one up close before. You say they're good eating?
If you cook them right, I tend to overcook them but my mom has it figured out LOL
So, I am trying to decide between the Burris and the Garmin. If you had it to do all over again, would you buy the Garmin. I value your opinion.
If I had to say right now I would still go with the burris. When it works, it works! Lifetime forever for anyone warranty is pretty good too.
5 to 6 weeks is unacceptable for turn around time .damm sweet shot on thst chuck
Thank you, appreciate it. This was a video that's full of good and bad, am I right?
Hey.... where did you get that cheek weld?... need one similar to that

Thank you Rich. I am enjoying this much more than Depp vs Heard on Netflix right now.
@@philiplang1361 😄
you know I had also purchased one of those scopes off of your links and I also sent mine back and got my money back because the technology didn’t work right in it.
Good deal 500? Thats more than my whole crossbow mr lawyer/future DA moneybags!
Lol I hear you 100%
I got a wicked ridge blackhawk 360...cheapest xbow tenpoint had and cheapest my local archery shop had😉 definitely wont be pulling off any 50 yard shots with my 505g arrow but its all good. Life is easy😉
and the arc on your gopher miss was pretty plain to see which is not what we were all jabbering about in your slo-mo. what was that, 30 yards or so ?

@@Deathbybunjie LOL why I need a Burris.
Have you tried the garmin xero a bit pricey but what’s not with the range finding scopes
So are we breaking the bank and grabbing a Garmin Xero x1i ?
Doubtful, but you never know
So was it just the mounting base that was throwing of Bunjie 3.0's? Sure it wasn't just a loose screw or two?
I was hoping it was that simple. Everything was tight and then I took it off and check the screws underneath and those were tight too. Unfortunately I think it's something internal. I'm anxious to find out what the company says.
@@Deathbybunjie hmmm. Dang.

Check out that video and also good luck down there!
Raffle one of them off and donate some of the money to your favorite charity. If it were me the OB would be going to Maryland. Reliability kills IMO
Terribly frustrating! What about Garmin X1i?
We'll see how the "fixed" ones work first I guess...
Maybe it’s time for a Garmin, you should be able to hunt as much as you want your the boss.
@17:16.... Another Crossbow?? very unspecific there... did you cave and buy a Killer Instinct SWAT X1?? Bungie IV 🤔???
😄
The facebook is Burris Oracle X owners
I'm on there 💯
Can you say Garmin. The CEO of ATN and BURRIS must be best buds.
Garmins are huge pain in the arse but once you get there your living th dream.
? Not aware of that issue but also it must not shift with a different scope on there
Yea I think I would have had a bonfire with Burris … actually I use their full field 4 on my 6.5 creedmoor and never had an issue great glass
The glass on these is pretty good, we'll see where this goes
Time to go old school 😅
SEVR you’ll never need another broadhead
How much for the scope
$799 at Wyvern, new..
@@TranquilityAcres rich said a go deal
I know another guy who got his refurbished oracle and it didn't work either!.....unreal and unacceptable......
Leave it on the OB and take it to Maryland instead. The OB has never let you down.
Indeed!
I was wondering why they had refurbished scopes available and so cheap. Now I know why. No thanks
The Good, the Bad and the.........Bunjie? LOL
😅
Don’t do it Rich! You have a GREAT crossbow, made an 81yd shot with the Burris -keep the pairing. I tried the oracle x for my ravin, sent it back as I couldn’t get it to zero. Maybe it’s the power of the over 400 fps crossbows throwing off the oracle? All hail Bunjie II
We shall see!
Get the swat x1. We know you wanna 😂😂😂
What scope would I put on it LOL
So sorry, Rich. That absolutely stinks, especially with a scope that costs as much as those did.
U trying the garmin
Probably not, Burris or bust I think
better off with handheld rangefinder and then just shoot. more money and hassle then there worth.
