    Our Mission
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, wildlife and environmental education, and the development of the Cedar Canyon Nature Park.
    Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal, but for those that cannot be released due to disabilities, the Cedar Canyon Nature Park (CCNP) can provide them with a permanent home in a natural setting while enhancing our visitors educational experience at the park.
    Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
    Martin Tyner
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.

Interesting videos on training. I live in SF bay area. About 8 years ago I worked as a chemist in research lab in South San Francisco and in one week a young peregrine falcon landed on the ledge outside the window where I was working. I was very happy to see this bird in the bay area as I usually only see red tail hawks. Last year I was visiting my daughter on graduation weekend at IU Bloomington and we were driving on a fairly busy street next to the University and saw a huge hawk or eagle that had a fresh killed squirrel sitting on the road eating it. We drove by slowly and it picked it up and left the street. I am enjoying all of your rescue and training videos. Thanks for sharing.

This clip is so interesting, the way he's establishing a friendship with the hawk. Also enjoyed the info on the silica from the ancient volcanoes. I don't know why, but my favorite part of the world is the SW. Love it even more than Quebec's northland.

Thankyou so much for posting your videos! I'm in Wisconsin, not Utah. However, all the love and dedication you give to each animal is so inspiring and breathtaking. As soon as I am financially stable enough, I'm going to donate what I can, to help your cause. I understand that it's not cheap in any way to do what you do. The animals need people like you! 😊
I think it's so amazing and inspiring to see your wife fully supporting what you do and is fully involved, both of you working together as a unit.

I have seen people here on TH-cam that take the jackrabbit from the hawk or falcon, and do not bother to cover it, or care enough to show their hunte/ress that they are stealing the rabbit. THEY MOST CERTAINLY ARE because these jackasses want to pound their chests and look so badass. But I feel for the REAL hunter, the precious bird. THANK YOU for respecting your bird of prey~!

I know "those birds feel your emotions". My house bird regularly notices when something is different. Yesterday I wasn't doing so well (a little fever from an upset stomach) and she noticed that. She was not as relaxed as normally and my birdi is only a small finch.

I think and mentioned about you a few times. Spoke to my bank about how to get my book published yet you and victor larkhill get the cash. To God preaching free means free. Ppl need the book badly though for what's coming on earth. Gotta be careful ppl will steal it. Your a truly good man. Allot of times when you hear a song you wanna sing along. But there's times when you'd rather just listen to the singer they're so good. Your that singer. My thing is God's word. It's my place as a teacher. Not even a pulpit guy. I'm messed up from life. Panic attacks pain and meds. I'm happy where the Lord has us both. I didn't but i feel as if i made you a promise on my book. But id like to keep my word one day somehow. My book if allowed to be published will destroy false religion and save millions. I share it online. Sure you won't have time to read this and reply. I'm perfect with that fact. Besides intentions don't feed birds.
