    I've been using chicken manure pellets for years now and every plant loves it.

    Thank you very much for sharing Lin ❤ Such a boost of roses in your garden! So beautiful 😍 Some roses are not quite suitable to grow as standards especially HT. Most of them need very careful correct pruning from year 1. We can sort out your standard tree 😁 🙌She is beautiful! Let her grow and bloom this season and from autumn we will sort her out ❤️🌹 and thank you very much for such useful information!

      Morning Dilly. Yes, I agree some varieties are not suited as standard. We’ll enjoy her unique shape 😁

    From my experience, Benjamin Britten grows like a weed. It's a unique shade of red. I wish that it were more fragrant and had bigger blooms.

      I wish my Benjamin Britten would grow like yours. Mine has medium fragrance and the flowers are large enough to not droop. It must be a different climate. Beautiful colour but not healthy for me.

    My benjuman brittan right now is a bundle of health difficult for your to recognise that it is actually benjuman…totally the opposite what you have ( but yours is improving too with the feed you’ve given it.. it’ll get there like mine did )

      I hope so. It is a beautiful colour. I think it likes sun and feed.

    I use toprose but have never had basal shoots, Lin. Is this because you grow your roses in containers?

    • @Lin_Greenfinger
      @Lin_Greenfinger  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I grow most of my roses in pots. The ones that are in the ground also has basal shoots although not as many.

      I agree my dialogue is something that I need to improve on. If it bothers you , don’t have to watch or mute sound.

    Wow, those iris in the background are stunning! Hmm, I planted Bring me Sunshine in the autumn for an orange themed bed - bit worried now it'll be yellow... Oh well! Just subscribed.

    For grafted roses, how do you know that the new basal growths are not root stock? Thanks.

    • @Lin_Greenfinger
      @Lin_Greenfinger  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The growth from rootstock looks different. Usually light green leaves on thin canes. Pull off to remove to prevent regrowth.

    Hi Lin, lovely to see your roses with flowers now! About how to have new shoots, that’s what I do too, pruning the rose properly and sometimes I’m afraid it will not grow anymore like my rose Caramella, now having lots of newly grown tall shoots.🌹

    Thank you very much lin… i didn’t think you were going to tell us because now their sales of toprose is going to increase incredibly .. you advertising it for the company for free.. they should pay you for it.. i’m definitely buying it.. i’d bought phostogen for roses & give them liquid tomato feed + hose manure feed as it was oked by frazer valley rose farm

    Lovely Lin. Some great growth there. I love it.
    I’m seeing some awesome basal breaks this year hopefully you will see them at some point. I’ve never had this before either in such quantity.
    Mine came from pruning back I think. I’ve no doubt some thought I was crazy pruning as I did but I still have no regrets. Some roses haven’t given me basal breaks which is a little disappointing. But most have and many I’ve actually nipped out basal breaks to manipulate shape and they’ve given me more! I’m very pleased with it. Next year i honestly think many of my roses will be in a great balanced shape at time of pruning. But time will tell of course.
    Dilly she will sort out your standard im sure :) lovely Lin.

      I’m glad to hear your roses are having basal stems. And I thought it was my green fingers working it’s magic 😞. Good idea about removing excess basal stems ( never thought I’d say that!) to give better balanced shape. It would painful since I’ve always treasured them. I’m looking forward to seeing your next video.

      😮 Jay I could never have the heart to make such move, it’s like breaking one of my toes.😢

      @@kenvoong5977 I hear you mate. But Mother Nature can work in mysterious ways. Rabbits started to eat my basal breaks. Very disheartening you can imagine. But they kept coming back. This helped in my actions.
      It’s not perfect some of my roses didn’t get the fresh basal breaks. But most did. i have footage I sent gav of me nipping out several breaks from Eustacia Vye and Elizabeth until I got what I wanted. It’s not full proof but more likely than not.

    I've always used and liked Toprose. I couldn't get it one year and I definitely felt that my Roses weren't as good.

      Hi Wendy. It’s my first year using Toprose. I previously used Miraclegrow. It helped but not as good as Toprose.
