I was told NOT to compare TUI River Cruises with Emerald - Really!

- A couple of weeks ago we took our second river cruise. This time we chose TUI River Cruises, a budget line, having previously been on Emerald Cruises. We had a fabulous time cruising the River Danube from Budapest to Vienna and all in between. But, we were told that we could not compare TUI with Emerald. So, I did, and the results might not be what you would expect.

Fantastic informative video! My husband and I are doing our 1st river cruise on Skyla 23rd Sep. I look forward to watching your other videos to gain some knowledge. Both my husband and I are late 40s and it's our 1st holiday without our daughters who are young adults now. So it's a totally different holiday.
Very helpful video. We do a lot of Ocean cruises and only the 1 river cruise which was with Viking.
WE are looking at a second river cruise soon and have been seriously considering going with TUI this time mainly because of the price and it looks like it should be ok, maybe will not compare to Viking but Emerald are certainly a top cruise line and all the other research we have done, combined with this video, just about seals the deal for us, thanks Bob
@@scholesybrian Hi Brian. As I always say, these videos are subjective. It is my view, but I am sure that you would have a great time. Like you, we do many ocean cruises and I always check the cruise vlogs first to get an idea. My bottom line is this: Did we have a good time and did we get value for money. We can always answer yes to these questions. Happy cruising.
Great video Bob! Fascinating to see your comparison and some up to date info on the latest changes that Tui offer. I was on the Skyla at the end of May and had a fantastic cruise up the Danube, I think it was the same as the one you did. I had watched all the available videos on TH-cam before booking and felt I had definitely made the right decision, so was very grateful for all the info on offer from the vloggers. Now having watched yours I pretty much agreed with your thoughts, especially those on the dining experience and the crew, all of whom were absolutely wonderful and really made the cruise for us. We also didn’t book any excursions as we both can’t walk very far, but were more than happy to potter about for a short time in each town and then return to enjoy the ship’s facilities. Cocktails on the top deck are thoroughly recommended! Looking forward to watching more of your videos, again, many thanks. Helen.
@@helenbramson3730 Hi Helen. Thank you for your comments. Basically, we are budget cruisers. We have done many ocean cruises, but very seldom do excursions. We like to enjoy the ships and potter around the ports we stop at. Sounds a lot like yourself. We had a great time on Skyla and would not hesitate to go with TUI again. I always like to be practical in my vlogs, as it can be a nightmare trying to understand all the nuances of cruising. As I always maintain, the vlogs are all subjective. They are personal views.
