She's indeed changed many people's lives by coming out. She's an angel. She was ready for what was to be payed off with, but she did that for the LGBT community! I salute her, the world does... she's the most loved person, alive, on the earth!
The last girl made me cry too! Thats so amazing that Ellen has paved the way for so many peole to have the strength to come out and to stand behind there feelings, to show thats absolutely normal to be gay!! And thats really amazing! And yes she really has a heart of gold! =)

when i was younger, (since i didn't grow up in a religious household), i never knew the story about the (footprints on the beach), so forever after hearing her joke, i took it heart, and thought that any and everyone in the metaphor were working hard, carrying Jesus, piggy-back style. (despite the metaphor being the other way around,) it actually taught me to work much harder, toward my goals, and to try not to lean too heavily on others, for help. except when you need to, of course.
I loved the way she reacted to the girl at the end. It always made me tear up from the first moment I saw it. What a beautiful ending to a great special.

Months later, I was talking with her (actually I was doing all the talking) about "the meaning of life".......and to my amazement, after I finished.....she looked at me and said "have you seen Gloria Estefan's hair lately?" She really freaked me out.......and she was 90 at the time !!!!
