My first table saw was a 1980's Grizzly contractor saw. It has served me faithfully for almost 40 years. Built it into a cabinet, changed out the pulleys for balanced pulleys, segmented belt, threw away the fence and added a 52" Vega. Added a new switch. Time for the old man to get a new saw...I think I will stick with Grizzly. THANKS for a great review

I loved your comment about “”there are many saws like it but this one is mine”” brought back memories

I like that it’s belt driven

extended tables/long railed table saws aren't really worth the extra space they take up in my opinion. If you need 50''+/- of rip capacity, you're better off with a sliding table as it's just too tedious to maneuver large material around on a standard table. It's easier to me to just remove fence and rip with miter if I need to cut plywood or something.

Billy Severt I think I agree with you. 36” seems to be the perfect sweet spot for me. I’m saving up for the full Festool tracksaw system and rails that will handle the oversized stuff better than my homemade track saws.

@Glenn Holcomb 9' what he's got low ceilings? try 18'
This guy built his own using 4/4 mahogany reversed raised panels he did everything in the house like that shaker style it was OMG perfection. he sold the house for 650k it sold for 1.5 mil. It was stunning! Type of wood will reflect your house's value. he did not use one pec of plywood it was all solid wood.

I would love to hear your opinions on this saw vs. The shop Fox 1819 end 1851 that can be found on amazon. I'll be picking up this or one of the others withing the next week and would really appreciate your feedback

Michael Kaine I honestly have no idea, I’m still very happy with my grizzly and we use it literally everyday in a production furniture shop.
I think that grizzly and shop fox are essentially the same thing

@@DaileyWoodworks I think there are slight differences dust collection, for 1.
How's the dust collection on you're Grizzly?
Thanks for replying by the way I've been busting my brain for the past week

No service if you buy on amazon . better to buy from a reputable dealer that can easily handle problems . Now when you go for service they will ask where you bought the saw and they won't be so thrilled to help you .

Grizzy has 2 problems, shipping charges and sales tax.

Richard McKrell true. But they can either build that into the price or charge you for it separately.
As someone who ships we charge the full amount separately because some customers can pick up from planerour shop
What do you have of theirs? I’ve been looking at adding a jointer/ combo

I don't have anything Grizzly, their shipping and sales tax adds about 16% to their price.

I had the Harvey clone of this saw. Hated it, sold it , bought a Sawstop.

Sawstop is a gimmick, won't save you from getting a kickback to the face and it's literally twice the price..
