This episode was such a "you get some, you lose some" one x) Really loved a lot of the anime-original bits and pieces that they added, but I also wish Ritsu's "If I got hurt, would brother maybe wake up..?" made it to the anime. Mob going school shooter mode but city level cause of him repressing his trauma, emotions and powers most of his life after hurting Ritsu as kids, also what's the government going to do after a middle school kid destroyed seasoning city.
One is a really good writer. what I love about Mob over OPM is the theme. OPM is about the meaning in pursuing power and how hollow it can be, and what a hero really is. while Mob is more about how we carry our trauma and repress ourselves out of fear of hurting and being hurt by others. So I feel like Mob is more relatable as a character as opposed to Saitama or Garou .

I kind of liked how despite all their similarities, different Espers come to very different conclusions about how to treat their powers Mob's problem was more about suppressing his emotions than rejecting his powers. It's easy to see the other Mob as a manifestation of his power but he's more like a manifestation of all the intense emotions that Mob tried not to let himself feel. That's why Mob's character arc revolved around accepting those emotions and overcoming his fear of going out of control. Suzuki's situation is different. He always saw his powers as a solution to any problem he faced. Because of that he never really needed to rely on anyone or form meaningful connections. Him deciding not to use his powers anymore doesn't involve suppressing his emotions in anyway. It just means he won't use them as a crutch anymore, which means he'll be forced to connect with and rely on other people. Out of everyone I think Teru has the healthiest view of his powers. At first he thought they made him better than other people, but even after seeing the error of his ways he never really blames his powers for how he acted. He doesn't fear them or use them as a crutch. The idea of rejecting them never occurs to him because he's the one who truly sees them as just another trait. And he honestly seems to enjoy training his powers in a way none of the other psychics do. He talks about his new light speed motion like it's a party trick he taught himself for fun, and I think that's a really cool and healthy mindset.
