Not only was this an anthem of a generation, an absolute sick, kickass riff, Sammy peeling paint off the arena roofs, it ushered in Crystal Pepsi, one of the most unholy products ever marketed, but I loved it.
Those songs you put in your comments are my fave, Love walks in always got me, the lyrics is kinda weird, but the song OMG, still loved day one back in 80s
Absolutely! “DREAMS” is the one you want. It absolutely blew me away when I heard it. I loved DLR, but Sammy blew the doors off for me! I also recommend the precursor to 5150, Sammy’s solo album’s hit, “Give to Live!” You won’t be disappointed! 🤘❤️
Just saw him with my daughter (her gift to me) she fell in love w/ "Standing Hampton" (@16, 15yr ago ) her and I were so blown away with how good he sounded @ 75 YO !!!!!! THERE IS ONLY ON WAY TO ROCK...with the RED ROCKER himself.
Those of us who were around then remember that Pepsi had a new product called Crystal Pepsi. It was clear and tasted like I would imagine battery acid would, but they used this song in their debut commercials and made everyone at least go try it. Also, every VH reaction that has Hagar sparks controversy about who is better, Hagar or DLR. My response to that is this: If you are listening to VH for the vocals you've already missed the point.
One of VH best songs, Sammy nails the vocals…Mike on bass…Alex just killin it, with Eddie running one my favorite solos & his keyboard run is so good. They were more technical at this juncture, Michael & Alex had more prominence & their tone was sharper I think. This is a fantastic performance but you gotta check out the official music video, it adds to the lyrics…deeper than people give credit. (Other than Roger Daltry, Sammy has the best screams in rock). 😎🤘🔥
I love Sammy and I love this song. Please do one of his other bands, a supergroup with Anthony Michael Hall and Joe Satriani, among others, called Chickenfoot. The song is “Soap On A Rope” and it’s a banger. 🤟🏼
This song brings me back a long way. I love Sammy Hagar with Van Halen and Montrose. He has such a great voice ❤❤I miss Eddie VH... he is such a cutie 💓
There is one huge artist you have never reacted to, Barbra Streisand. Alot of people think she is just the lady who played Dustin Hoffman's wife in Meet The Fockers. She has been around since the Beatles. She has recorded over 60 albums, almost all of them have been certified platinum or gold and some are multiple platinum. She is an actor, singer, director and has won Grammys, Academy Awards, Emmys and a Tony. Her biggest hit is called Woman In Love and was written by Barry and Robin Gibb and produced by Barry. It is stunning. It knocked Another One Bites The Dust by Queen from #1 on the Hot 100. It also hit #1 in over 24 countries when it was released. Please please react to it. Most music reactors (even rap fans) are in shock when they hear her voice. She has been admired by Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey. Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Cyndi Lauper and Madonna, Aretha and Diana Ross. I really hope you check it out. I guarantee you will enjoy it. PS. I love your channel and will subscribe if you react to it and so will all Barbra's fans.
You should definitely see the official video. It's great. And was hugely popular because it was played non-stop on MTV. Also, it was just an awesome video anyway.
I love Sammy’s voice. This is a complete gem of a song. I liked Diamond Dave as well! Van Halen was fabulous with both frontmen! No point in fighting about who was better. It’s unproductive, especially if you are wasting time arguing instead of just listening and enjoying.
I was today's day old when I thought about the name "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge", hmm, what is than an acronym for? And I've been hearing Van Halen since they first appeared on the charts. I'm not proud of that, that I just got the joke.
Yes! So glad you got back to seeing my favorite band. Yes Sammy is still touring, as a matter of fact im seeing him live with the original bassist Michael Anthony along with Jason Bonham and Joe Satriani next weekend for the best of all worlds tour. This tour will be music from all parts of Sammy's life including Van Halen so im super stoked bc i never got to see Sammy or Michael Anthony with VH, ive seen DLR with VH twice & this is the closest i will ever get another piece of Eddie as i know he will be there in spirit. Keep those reactions coming!
Sammy's pro career pre-dates VH's with Montrose ("Bad Motor Scooter") then a solo stint, then VH, then solo and then a few bands he put together. He is doing a monster tour this summer playing everything from Montrose to now. Note: Michael Anthony (bass, backing vox) is still with him.
Sammy Hagar is a trip…..in the Plant, Coverdale, Stephen Tyler mold……great rock voice. Interesting dude…….Quite the entrepreneur too. Has a great collection of VERY expensive and very fast cars…..😁
Sammy Hagar Amazing He is Rock’n Roll I have gotten to see him live 28 times in a couple weeks will make 29 the live performance was from Canada recorded 2 nights in a row same arena
I was able to see Van Helen live with Sammy Hagar in the late '80's. I thought he was great, including on songs originally sung by David Lee Roth. It was a great show.
The Van Halen brothers were born in The Netherlands but the family moved to Pasadena, CA in 1962 when they were kids. They first played at backyard parties and once at Pasadena high school in 1975. It always interested me why they chose Pasadena. I live nearby.
I've been watching a few dozen of your videos! Searched through your post history I'm curious if you would be interested: UFO = Lights Out (live strangers in the night), Love to Love (live strangers in the night), Doctor Doctor (live strangers in the night) Robin Trower = Bridge of Sighs, Day of the Eagle, Too Rolling Stoned, Little Bit of Sympathy (early, before Steve Perry joined) Journey = Topaz, Of A Lifetime, Kohoutek Blue Oyster Cult = Astronomy, [Then Came The] Last of May (Live 1974) about 4:37 long) Thin Lizzy = Cowboy Song, Emerald, Whiskey in the Jar Thanks for the videos! Take Care
God, I Love everything about Sammy!!! I had the "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" tshirt and used to wear it to work all the time. But one day my supervisor actually decided to read the shirt and it clicked in her brain what it said. Lol. I had to turn my shirt inside out for the rest of the day and wasn't allowed to wear to work anymore. Lmao. It only took them years to figure it out. Dummies. Lol.
Sammy Hagar is my hero. Nothing but good times rock ‘n roll. He’d pick a hottie out during the show and when Eddie went into a 20 minute jam/solo he’d be backstage getting ‘taken care of.’ And he started celeb liqueur but actually made a good product, Cabo Wabo tequila, set up a rock ‘n roll bar in Cabo San Lucas, sold the tequila for $70 million or so, and now just jams with his friends. Winning.
I'll give my tine finger to have a voice like Sammy, Dave Grohl and a little bit of Jared Leto, I am just crazy for those vocals. I dare any one here tell me one singer who has Sammy's similar voice, its crazy.
Great reaction S .... There are some that for some reason don't enjoy Sammy when he was with VH yearning for DLR. They are two completely different singers and DLR cannot hold a candle to SH. 😊
I'm sorry but when I see live van halen videos. Everyone looks happier with sammy at the helm then they ever did with Dave. I honestly believe because they all have an input, freedom to express themselves
I have always preferred Van Hagar over Van Roth. Sammy is the total package. Check him out doing Bad Motor Scooter with Montrose. Or anything off of his 3 Lock Box album.
During Eddie's video solo, I love when it says, "Right now Eddie's got his hands full" RIGHT (RIP EDDIE)😇 RIGHT NOW Sammy, and Michael Anthony are playing in "The Circle" and can still play this in concert because Sam helped Eddie write it. I prefer Van Hagar🤩
LOVE VAN HALEN .. SAMMY HAGAR “RIGHT NOW”. Definitely prefer Hagar over David Lee Roth cuz he brings a richness to the Van Halen sound with his unbelievable vocals!! May I recommend WHEN LOVE WALKS IN 👉 So good. 😊
This was the band to beat in the 80s. All other bands were either new wave pop, or they were trying to sound like Van Halen. Warrant, Guns and Roses, Motley Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi, ect. All copying their style to an extent. Nobody could play like Eddie. His fingers had some wobbly, vibrato that couldn't be mimicked well.
Saw Sammy in concert on his Three Lock Box tour. He was a wild man and definitely rocked the house! Still love him. But, I wasn't a fan of Van Hagar much.
Right Now: Sammy Hagar is in his 70s and is still belting this song out like it's 1991.
going to see him in Vegas in August
Love your comment! So true!
Sammy Hagar was my favorite lead for Van Halen! He has an amazing classic rock voice!
Not only was this an anthem of a generation, an absolute sick, kickass riff, Sammy peeling paint off the arena roofs, it ushered in Crystal Pepsi, one of the most unholy products ever marketed, but I loved it.
Sammy is a Beast! The Red Rocker! Started in Montrose 1973.
Love Sammy !!!!!
- love walks in
- Not enough
-dreams
-pound cake
-summer nights
And I play every one of these songs on my keyboard! The 80s were the best time to be a musician as a keyboard player.
Those songs you put in your comments are my fave, Love walks in always got me, the lyrics is kinda weird, but the song OMG, still loved day one back in 80s
Yessss!
Loved van Halen with Sammy he's awesome
“Dreams”… then “Why Can’t This Be Love”. Both from the 5150 album, which preceded this album.
Two more excellent ones from Sammy.
Absolutely! “DREAMS” is the one you want. It absolutely blew me away when I heard it. I loved DLR, but Sammy blew the doors off for me! I also recommend the precursor to 5150, Sammy’s solo album’s hit, “Give to Live!” You won’t be disappointed! 🤘❤️
You need to check our their live version of "Poundcake" from the MTV awards. Fun times!
That's a great one.
Do you like Montrose?
Always loved Sammy's voice !
Preferred Sammy’s voice over Roth’s by a wide, wide margin. This, imho, was Van Halen at its best!
dito
Those of us who were around then remember that Pepsi had a new product called Crystal Pepsi. Also, every VH reaction that has Hagar sparks controversy about who is better, Hagar or DLR. My response to that is this: If you are listening to VH for the vocals you've already missed the point.
Oh, thank you! Geez, I'd've never thought you hadn't heard this (love the album version) so so glad you did this!
One of the best screams in Rock !!!!!
This was the peak of VH with Sammy IMO. Incredible tour.
Sammy was lead singer of Montrose when he was 19; the Red Rocker! check out Bad Motor Scooter and One Way to Rock; although there are many, many more
From Montrose, Rock Candy and when solo, I Can't Drive 55 to start.
One of VH best songs, Sammy nails the vocals…Mike on bass…Alex just killin it, with Eddie running one my favorite solos & his keyboard run is so good. Sammy is one of the best singers hands down
Um... hello? For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge? Take the first letter from each word!! 🤣🤣
Much better singer and songwriter than David Lee Roth.
Best Song you could choose!!!!!!!! And best live!!!!! Thanks 🤘💓💓
Love him with Van Halen, by himself , Montrose and Chickenfoot.
🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼 Van Halen is a true experience from start to finish! This song is my favorite! I’m a die hard fan mostly of the Sammy era!
I love Sammy and I love this song. Please do one of his other bands, a supergroup with Anthony Michael Hall and Joe Satriani, among others, called Chickenfoot. The song is “Soap On A Rope” and it’s a banger. 🤟🏼
Wonderful live, but the official video adds so much layers and emotion to the song, I cry everytime I watch it, it waged perfectly!
This version of Van Halen with Sammy Haggar as lead singer was often referred to as Van Haggar.
Hagar
This song brings me back a long way. I love Sammy Hagar with Van Halen and Montrose. He has such a great voice ❤❤I miss Eddie VH... he is such a cutie 💓
Just seen them! I have to say they are great live. He’s in his late 70’s and still has it.
Whoever requested this VERY NICE BRO
I'm going to go see sammy hagar on the 14th with my friend and this my first im so excited I can't wait!

Of course this song was all over the radio when I was younger. I always thought it was ok. New appreciation 🔥🔥
This is probably my favorite Eddie Van Halen guitar solo. Van Hagar forever! 🤘
I was and still am a huge VH fan with David Lee Roth, BUT I loved ‘em with Sammy, too! Great with Sammy INCREDIBLE with DLR back in the day
Back when music make u feel u can do anything and accomplish everything😎
I was today's day old when I thought about the name "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge", hmm, what is than an acronym for? And I've been hearing Van Halen since they first appeared on the charts. I'm not proud of that, that I just got the joke.
LOL
They also had an album called "OU812."
Oh, you ate one too.
Van Hagarrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Live version of when eagles fly. Just sammy and a guitar. Amazing
All I will ever think of when I hear this song is the commercial for Crystal Pepsi it was used for in 1992.
Best of all worlds tour starts tonight !!! 🎸👍😎
The Mighty Van Halen
RIP Eddie
You gotta check out "Live Without a Net." Amazing concert. Songs like 5150, Summer Nights and Ed's solo performance. * chef's kiss *
Two night in Fresno California! Was amazing
Sammy!❤
Sammy Hagar is a trip…..in the Plant, Coverdale, Stephen Tyler mold……great rock voice. Interesting dude…….Quite the entrepreneur too. Has a great collection of VERY expensive and very fast cars…..😁

Sammy Hagar Amazing He is Rock’n Roll I have gotten to see him live 28 times in a couple weeks will make 29 the live performance was from Canada recorded 2 nights in a row same arena
Also with Joe Satriani & Michael Anthony ( VH bass player ) for their tour. I feel like a Crystal Pepsi now
I bought a cassette tape for this album when it was released. Crazy how years flew by eh?... love Sammy, love VH!
I was able to see Van Helen live with Sammy Hagar in the late '80's. I thought he was great, including on songs originally sung by David Lee Roth. It was a great show.
The official video for this song is one of the best. Watch it if you get a chance.

I was at these two concerts, they were in Fresno California.
My favorite songs from Sammy Hagars time with the band is from the album 5150 "Why Can't this be Love", and "Dreams"

OU812 is a great album!!

Winning.
3 lockbox and Standing Hampton, a double album, by Sammy Hagar is a must.
Hagar rocks!
You should react to Sammy’s solo before Van Halen or his work with Montrose. I was a fan of Sammy before Van Halen.
I think you’ve coined a new term: Crispy Scremes
Dreams on the 5150 album is one you will enjoy a lot
I'll give my tine finger to have a voice like Sammy, Dave Grohl and a little bit of Jared Leto, I am just crazy for those vocals. I dare any one here tell me one singer who has Sammy's similar voice, its crazy.
Hey SalvoG you just gotta do Ice cream man Van Halen with David Lee Roth… it’s a must
I wish Alex would have continued playing. We'll miss ya Al.
VanHagar was the best. DLR was a cheerleader and talk singer.
You should check out Amsterdam , live in Amsterdam and also Black and Blue ,, remastered video !!!
Great reaction S .... There are some that for some reason don't enjoy Sammy when he was with VH yearning for DLR. They are two completely different singers and DLR cannot hold a candle to SH. 😊
Sign said Hartford CT
Sammy was 44 when this was made. He is 7 years older than Eddie.
And that was part of the problem for Eddie, he thought sammy was getting old, little did he realize what the future held😢
Mr. Salvo, pls react " ALONE " by Bee Gees... You will love it ❤❤❤
I'm sorry but when I see live van halen videos. Everyone looks happier with sammy at the helm then they ever did with Dave. I honestly believe because they all have an input, freedom to express themselves

You may not know this about Sammy, but he can’t drive 55.

RIGHT NOW Sammy, and Michael Anthony are playing in "The Circle" and can still play this in concert because Sam helped Eddie write it.
I prefer Van Hagar🤩
You didn't seem to know by the way you only commented on the length of the album name but the title is an acronym. F-or U-nlawful C-arnal K-nowledge
Van Hagar
Love Sammy, the other guy, David Lee Roth, not so much..
Same
LOVE VAN HALEN .. SAMMY HAGAR “RIGHT NOW”. Definitely prefer Hagar over David Lee Roth cuz he brings a richness to the Van Halen sound with his unbelievable vocals!! May I recommend WHEN LOVE WALKS IN 👉 So good. 😊
Right Now, Hagar, Anthony are tour with Jason Bonham and Joe Satriani
As much as I love Dave, the band as a whole was happier together than with Dave. This is a great album, Van Halen or otherwise.
Bands best song IMO
This was the band to beat in the 80s. All other bands were either new wave pop, or they were trying to sound like Van Halen. Warrant, Guns and Roses, Motley Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi, ect. Saw Sammy in concert on his Three Lock Box tour. He was a wild man and definitely rocked the house! Still love him. But, I wasn't a fan of Van Hagar much.
Sammy saved Van Halen.
Sammy Hagar was the best thing that ever happened to Van Halen
Yeah. Sammie can sang.
This should be Trump's theme song, Right now!!!
