Video states "turn flywheel until the locating bolt drops into the flywheel , now #1 piston is at Top Dead Center, compression stroke or exhaust "(TDC). Adjust Intake valves Cyl 1, 2, 4. Adjust exhaust valves Cyl 1,3,5. ROTATE FLYWHEEL 360* (360 Degrees), Now adjust Intake valves 3, 5, 6 and Exhaust valves 2,4,6. . QUESTIONS. Since the flywheel was rotated 360*, has the camshaft rotated 180* ? QUESTION How about tips on doing this on an installed Engine? How would one rotate the engine and find TDC #1 Cylinder on compressions stroke? Are there markings? Can this engine be rotated by hand? At what engine temp should valves be adjusted on a Cat 3124? Ambient temp, cool engine? Thanks Mike C.
You can run valves on hot or cold I set mine on cold because heat expands things and hit engines burn you as for finding correct stroke if your on compression #1 would be lose and #6 intake will start to rock open if it’s a gas engine pull #1 piston will break down right when #6 intake opens I use a screwdriver or piece of tubing never set a valve that’s on lobe rocker arms will be lose.

what would be guage for intake and exhaust ?
I'm have a problem with #3 exhaust. Push rod is backed off all the way and I cant get the feeler gauge between rocker arm and bridge
