- We are FINALLY back on the you tube yacht cabin build. this is a boat shaped and themed rental cabin that we are building purely out of revenue from the channel. Today we start on framing the upstairs walls and layout the channel schedule for the next few months.

When I was in college, a professor told us that if you were designing a campground or even a roadway into a lake or along a river, do not clearcut to enhance the view. What you want to do is to create a vista to see thru. You thin out the trees so you can see thru but not too much. It is a delicate balance. You want to be able to see your pond from the cabin. Thin slowly and check your progress and consider the change in the seasons with and without foliage. Sometimes pruning the lower foliage will suffice. All I can do is give you the idea. You may need to do more research. I'm no expert. You may even consider picture windows on the cabin.
We plan on planting evergreens to block the view over time. The pond is not a part of the feature for us. Appreciate the info though!
TH-cam Yacht
“It’s kind of insane.”
Definitely an understatement and definitely a line worthy of a T-Shirt.
🤣
WOW! I forgot how big the basement was without all the braces in it!
As far as to which is my preferred content to watch, Well let's just say I would.......
watch anything you decided to put up as I am a fan of the creator and not just the media presented!
Bring On The Content, I for one will watch it all!
We love all of your adventures. Glad to see the yacht cabin build progress. Just keep at your project as you have time.
Spring has sprung, and the yacht has been uncovered 😃
Aye, over zealous is an appropriate term for excessive window openings 😂😂😂
You are making meaningful progress, and that board slide is a great idea 🤓 good one, Bernie 😎
💪
I love how you sprinkle in the nautical terms while you're building a cabin. Hilarious.
💪
Looking good! You know we’ll all be back for the next one!
Thanks!
Not on the river, but a lot of people, me included, like the peace and quiet. I'll definitely come stay there.!!
Looks great Mike, thanks for sharing! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻
💪
👍 Way taller than I imagined. looks good
This will help a little. You are a worker! Great job!!!
Thank you for the support!
Looking good. Juggling so many projects is always rough but you are killing it.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼, you betcha 19:59
Love all your videos, Captain. Awesome to see you back on the youtube yacht. Have also loved the dump truck build.
Glad to see work has resumed on this project too.
I can see why you don’t want a window on that wall. Never know if who ever rents the yacht might have a telescope in there bag. But a flat screen tv hooked to a camera overlooking the paddle wheel might be cool. Give the illusion that there is a window but with the right focal setting can’t see your house. You put so much work into that cabin it would be cool to show off all you can. Keep up the good work your content is fun to watch.
Thanks Mike (CK), lovin' every minute of it.
Appreciate ya watching!
I always put 3/8 plywood in between the headers.. the 7/16" osb tends to make it just a bit too wide when we use the left over 2x12 concrete form boards.
Create a dry pond, use gravel to create a dry river bed type look around the boat. That way it will look like its ran aground!
Now you've leveled somewhat the ground, The boat really comes into its own! Looks really good, and is in proportion. Good to see you've got your enthusiasm for the job back too.Hope the weather holds up while you're placing all the sides (March winds and April showers - you know the saying). Getting a better perspective on the build now, and can now see your vision a bit better. Keep up the good work, and be careful where you place your feet with that height! I know you know what your doing so enjoy it. From UK.
Glad to see the weather being more conducive for outdoor activities like the TH-cam yacht. Can’t wait for more videos of this amazing build. Stay safe Captain.
Hopefully it holds up. A lot of rain in the forecast.
The next time you get a pallet shipment with steel banding save that banding to cut into short strips. When laying out a wall to frame on a deck, put your bottom plate 3½" away from the lower plate edge, then when framed tack those strips to the bottom of the plate and the deck it's laying on, running the strips under the plate. Then stand the framed wall up without worrying about the bottom plate going over because it's held in position by the strips. Later on remove the strip tails.
I've always just toenailed the bottom plate to hinge it up. However that only works on a wall that can be laid out exactly where it is to be raised. Which is only the back wall on this one
Mike ought to build a few of those boat cabins with dock style decks and arrange them as the would be in a river along the the docks great video thanks Mike
I'm a big fan of "sprinklings of dump truck". Slow progress is better than no progress, and I agree with no pond, not only for kid safety but less water for mosquitos is also a big plus.
Good point
Glad to see you back on this project Captain. I will be watching.
Mike what you show on your videos really does not matter to me, it's the way you present your videos and your ability to do all that work on your own, you make great content, and as usual can't wait to see the next one. by the way the boat is looking great 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for the kind words!
I can hardly wait for the launch..
You and me both!
Mike, impressive, impressive, for a one man band you always amaze me with your all around talent. I can now visualize the overall look of the boat and surrounding area.great video, great job.just continue doing your thing .😎😎😎👍👍👍
Awesome progress on the YT Yacht project, you are one busy dude for sure stay safe Captain!!
💪
Good.job Nice cabin good show 👏👏👏👍👍👍😃
Thank you for sharing, another great video, always a pleasure watch your project👍👍👍👍
Appreciate ya watching!
Well, if that don't float your boat, nothing will. Great job.
Full steam ahead Captain. Take care...
This projects looking really good 👍 Planning in the privacy of your home in your design is definitely the right thing to do 👍 Brilliant as always, love your channels Mike 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
Weld that pedal cart out and it will be sturdy enough to leave the generator on
Very Nice! All Aboard. ❤
When nailing a wall down to the subfloor I recommend nailing tight up against a stud. It keeps nails out of the way of future penetrations
Well, I was going to offer the use of a trebuchet to launch the furniture onto the upper deck, but I guess since you got to be all Mr. "plan everything out" I won't. Looking great!
Captain you’re amazing, jumping from project to project and it’s never boring! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Appreciate ya watching
Wiw what a veiw mike! The boat is coming along !
Hey capt a little trick we used when I was building homes was to nail a piece of strapping to the bottom of your bottom plate and use that to stand your wall and not to have to worry about it sliding off works awesome just a tip !!
Good to see the TH-cam Yaht still upright after the winter months.👌
I think math and words do go together, but most people just use the symbols anyway.😂
Wise choice on the water feature, besides part of the charm is being close enough to the river without being next to it. Basically the reasons why your place IS the ideal spot for families. If they want to go down to the river, it's not that far away.😊
Lookin good Mike.🤙
I love the progress you're making on my new home 👍❤️🤗
Nice to see you back working on the Yacht project again.
I didn't get a notification! Glad I checked your page! Great video! Much love from Henderson Ga USA
I love the idea can’t wait to see it finished, thank you for sharing this with us, see you in the next one
Thanks!
Looking forward to more Boat House video's. You are the most entertaining!
Now, if a guy only had some sort of UTV to haul a generator.... i hear Fubaru makes an awesome one.... lol
Hi Mike. The TH-cam yacht is definitely unique! There's probably not another one quite like it. I hope it does well for you when it comes time to rent it out. Like the "forced perspective" concept too!
Thanks!
Great video, thanks for bringing us along!
If you put a concrete area for outdoor furniture you could color it a shade of blue to be like water
Not that I have a favorite CK video topic but, YAY!!! The Yacht is back!!!
Variety is the spice of life so, post whatever you want Mike 😊
How about a sump for the paddle wheel? Waterfall sound with an off switch for the parents… looking good 👍
Loving the build, wonder if you could do some sort of curved/ shaped low wooden surround a few feet out from the boat on the ground and then fill in around the boat with blue coloured sand. Then grass or whatever on out from there ?
Lawn carts are great for generators to move them around ii never take them out of the cart
Great work Captain, Diesel Creek has a couple of telehandlers.
He said "ran when parked. Those are running, not parked. 😂😂😂😂
This is going to be great!😊
Thanks for sharing! 😊
This will work. The Theme is awesome. "Build it and they will come" .. Where have I heard that? hmmm 🤔😛
I hope it's true!
MIKE, yer back on the boat! Time to get dem dare 'See Legs' ready!
Carry on, Capt'n!
you have great enthusiasm good luck
Thanks!
You have enough viewer's that will probably want to stay a night in the boat. Hopefully it pays off pretty fast.
Looking good. You do amazing work
Thanks!
Looking good. Enjoy the videos.
Thanks!
Looking at your framing material Mike, I am jealous. Here in Canada we are almost guaranteed 1 square corner, but the rest will most likely have at least some bark or wain edge.
Looking very nice Mike. Picturing the finished product is great. Stay safe
And the Kleeman Khronikles continue.....framing is coming along nicely. A spray tan on those lily white legs would cut down on the glare we are getting off your legs. Keep the guy who works really fast on the payroll, he is efficient. Last thing, if you don't make some pretty good progress on this yacht soon the Admiral is going to rename this channel to "Ensign Kleeman" As always, great channel, great content.
Lol appreciate ya watching
It you put an extra 2tiers on it you could compete with Matts tower. 😂😎 What a shame the supplier didn't deliver what you ordered, lets hope it come soon so you can finish it. Looks really good and more importantly very sturdy.m👍
Lookin good! Matt over at Diesel Creek might have a telehandler for sale.
Thanks again Capt.
Diesel creek has a couple of those tele-handlers I think 🤔 , that he is fixing to sell.
It's not the availability, it's the lack of funds lol
Your boat cabin is coming along nicely Mike, it’s super special, everybody gonna love it 👍👍😎😎🍮🍮❤️❤️
Hope so!
I'm thinking instead of a pond, a nice stone waterfall feature. With your talents and the extra stones from the church. You can make a great seating area and water feature combo. Just my thoughts and keep up the great work Mike.
Diesel Creek has a telehandler and your buddy DP has a couple of JLGs. Matt is using one JLG for his castle project.
Yah, back to the Yacht. Great to see. It must mean the weather has improved for you. Take care up there, it’s looking great. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
👍🏻👍🏻because one is never enough 🤛🏻🤛🏻
hello Mike & it's is Randy and i like your video is cool & Thanks Mike & Friends Randy
Looking good, you make it look easy, but I know there is lots of experience in what you do, keep up the good work. :)
Thanks!
Hello Mike. It looks like when your batteries were charging you took some time to clear out a little around the Yacht. Even without a pond there are still options for you. There seems to be enough rock to do something with. I don't think I came here for the YT Yacht, but you certainly have plenty of interesting projects.
Have good days!
I'm sorry I left the channel for a while. I had no need to join two trucks together. Happy to follow again on the aire b&b build.
Yep I was saying the same thing when you pulled off the plastic. I don’t remember that part of the build. Ahead full engines there Captain. Glad to see the yacht build back on the channel. Fair weather and good sailing there fella. 🐶
Glad you mentioned about the lost footage. Was just going to pause and make sure I didn't miss a video. A fella can't watch a build series unless it's in order !!! 😂😂 Can he ? 🤔 Great job.
blue astro turf will look good it will give the impression of water but safe for kids to play good name for it[ the sky lark ]🤣🤣✌👍🏴☠
Enjoyed the build
Thanks!
Job, and all other in between well done, 😅don't burn yourself out please. 💥💥👍🏼👍🏼
Build - baby - build!!! Great video! Love watching your progress. Thumbs up! Stay safe. Jim
Appreciate ya watching!
Busy man
That place is gunna be really cool.😊 🚢⚓️🛟
Dang Mike, I got a hernia just watching you lift those walls! Hope you have an awesome day!!
"Forced perspective" is a technique in photography to make things look smaller or larger or farther way than they really are.
Code can change from Inspector to Inspector
Looking forward to seeing project develop. Enjoying the video series, big thing is to have fun and enjoy the build, thanks.
Thanks Terry
Three cheers Mike. The "M.V. Steamboat Willy" is looking great and really nice to see some more progress.
Man if I ever came to the USA I'd rent it!
Every little bit moves you to the final outcome
Hope she’s not going to be top heavy 😂😂 nicely done Captain!!🤗🇺🇸
Thanks!
Mike, instead of deleting the window above the stairs, why not just make a smaller one?
Looking good Captain. Be careful working by yourself. Have a good day. God Bless.
If you snap a chalk line 3 and a half inches back from the deck edge and toe nail the bottom plate every 4 foot with a 16 d nail, when you stand your wall up it will not kick out on you.
Yup, used it plenty of times, but that only works if you have the room to lay the wall exactly where you need it. So only the back wall.
Good video. Thanks for the updates.
Hey for your generator pedal cart. make a base that the generator can sit on and mount it to the cart. Then put a small electric motor on and chain drive to the pedal wheels. Then you can start the generator, it can power the small engine so you can "drive/push" it and it can power itself where you need it to go. Self propelled generator!! 🤣
Now that would be wild! Lol
My phone better ring when this is available for rental!!!
