Hi Carl - very good stuff. That's a nice looking Buzzcocks single! Of course, I have never heard of the Funkees.

Hi Brian. That Buzzcocks record is so special ... The Funkees are definitely worth a listen.

Good luck on the contest Carl. The background for your videos are great - love to see the collection. Never heard of the Funkees - that is such a cool record. Chilton 7" ps is amazing - never saw that one. Never saw that Magic Christian album also - wow. Never saw that Lonnie Liston Smith either. Love that Buzzcocks EP. Great video showing really cool, rare records you have. Awesome.

Hi Alan. It was a good contest to do. I like Chris; he doesn't show the usual suspects like some vinyl community channels ... The Funkees are interesting, as there weren't many African bands playing in the UK back in the 70's ... Alex Chilton is one of my very favourite artists. Even his supposedly throw-away stuff post-Big Star has a real charm to it ... The Magic Christian album is only OK. It lacks the magic of the Flamin' Groovies ... Cheers for your comments Alan. Much appreciated, Carl

Hi Carl - Nice looking Funkees comp. I have one track 'Breakthrough' by them on a CD comp and really like it. Prefer to see Spiral Scratch over an audiophile reissue any day. Cheers Dale

Hi Dale. Thanks for watching and commenting. That Funkees comp is excellent. I checked in the last couple of weeks and it's still available on Amazon for under £20 ... I get bored with people showing ludicrously overpriced Audiophile pressings, usually of a record they already have multiple times. Much better to show a record that had a real cultural impact. Have a nice relaxing weekend, Carl

Wow, The Funkees, Magic Christian. Those albums look great. I've never heard of them which makes me want to check them out. Big fan of The Buzzcocks, that was one of my brothers favorite bands growing up. I love these contests you enter. They're great!

Hi Tarr. I'm a big fan of the Flamin' Groovies, so Magic Christian with the Flamin' Groovies' leader Cyril Jordan was of interest to me. It was a nice bonus to have Clem Burke on the record; he seems to crop up all over the place. He even toured here in the UK awhile back with a Blondie tribute act! ... I don't do many contests, but I'm starting to get into them a bit more ... The Funkees were definitely under the radar in the UK in the mid-70's, but this reissue brought them some well-deserved attention. All the best, Carl

Hi Chris. I was going to post a comment on your channel to let you know about my video. Congratulations for all you've achieved. By the way, if I win you can make a donation to a charity. Do you have hospice charities in the States? Or an Altzheimer's disease charity? Either of those would be ideal. Take care, Carl

Hi JT. The Funkees would be right up your street, as you like Osibisa. That Funkees record came out in 2012. I noticed that it's still on Amazon UK for under £20; any vinyl for under £20 is a "bargain(!!)" in the UK now ... Buzzcocks' 'Spiral Scratch' is such an important record in the development of UK music. Howard Devoto was the lead singer at this point. He soon left the band to form Magazine, although I think they all remained on good terms. If you go to my music documentaries playlist, there is a video under the heading 'Buzzcocks/Magazine So It Goes 1978' which is worth watching. All the best, Carl

@@jtsrecordroom3963 The Buzzcocks/Magazine programme is presented by Tony Wilson who was at that time a local presenter at Granada TV. He was also the founder of Factory Records ... Have a great time in Japan. No doubt you'll come home with a few records!

@Carl Tweed I will definitely ! I started a " Hit List" for shopping.. although that never seems to work gor me. Bangkok has the best prices, and a mixture of UK, Japanese, and other pressings for about 8 to 10 dollars per record. Leaving tonight.. and I will film , of course ! 👨‍👩‍👧
