Thanks for taking the time to make these videos Lee, both you and John are giving so much to the community with them, I’m certainly finding them very useful and inspiring 👍
Thank you for the pep talk at the end, Lee. I come from the armor building world and this is a whole new animal for me. Got some painting done last night and it turned out ok. I didn’t get much sleep the night before so I wasn’t on my game. I was tired and anxious and probably should’ve just put it off until I was in the right head space. After years of using Tamiya paints I just started using ArchiveX acrylics. I need to take a step back and practice some more on some panels.
Cheers, Lee! The biggest adjustment for me has been two-fold. The first is it’s not a one and done process. Building up layers for the base is a big change. The other is that it seems like there’s a different paint/thinner ratio for different colors. I’ve started taking notes as I’ve found the ones that work best for me.
No doubt it will be impossible from a airbrush to replicate that! When they pulled the trigger the 1st time it was the last time...The thing is to come close all over the entire model using the techniques and styles. At the end you will have a SS look?

You're very welcome mate. Never rush, if you're not sure of a technique, practice on a scrap piece, just keep it fun and enjoy yourself buddy.

Thanks for all the tips so far, this is great! I just used a few of these processes on my 1:24 B-Wing, thanks for posting!
The same guy who did the ultimate paintjob on an studio scale AT-AT? He was the epitome of, how less is more.

2 masters in the same thread! Great stuff guys!
Great video. The only criticism I would give is the sound quality. It's difficult to hear you. Other than that, fantastic.
I will work on that buddy, thanks for the feedback.
Nice Video Thanks for it. What Color do you use? I didn´t understand right. Thanks
Thanks. I'm using SP Dark Lark here. It's a very versatile weathering grey.

Spot on mate. Chasing every splat and spot is not really achievable.
