What do you save the mushroom as? And do you need to import the UV map manually when you import back the mushroom into Blender?

Does anyone know if a tutorial is available for setting up the workflow to do what it does? whatever I do I can't do it, nothing happens when I try to paint.
The ideal would be to be able to apply a procedural texture with the brush on an object with a simple texture with the brush.

In sculpt mode mouse snaps to the surface. Is it possible to snap it to the surface in texture paint mode?
