Hello! Charlotte is a good city to move to for young professionals or entrepreneurs I honestly do like Charlotte ... like every place it has its ups and downs but the worst thing is the dating part it really sucks lol

I'm from LA CA. I lived in Charlotte for 4 years. Not my cup of tea. I loved the trees and wildlife but that's about it. I moved back to Cali and I'm so glad I did. The food here is like nothing else.

@@Missrere1984 Houston is much bigger with it being the 4th largest city in the country. The dominating industry here is oil & gas although other industries thrive here as well. The nightlife is similar to ATL or Miami. But, it floods a lot and i could never feel comfortable buying a house here because of that. Hurricane Harvey was no joke! Charlotte (from past visits) is quiet, up and coming, smaller than Houston, and fits more of my personality. H-town treated me well i just prefer to be on the east coast closer to family on that side of the country.
You're right on point, Queen. It's better to join groups and organizations as a way of meeting men with common interest or consider "Getting to Know" with men in other cities and even abroad. NOT ALL but, to many of them, young and old, here in Charlotte, are trying to get something for nothing. They don't recognize a blessing when they see it. And still, for too many men, they let their little head run their show (life). So a woman with standards, begains to see that a man is lacking in interesting conversation, positive life experiences and vision. Like the Bible says, " Don't cast your pearls before swine (pigs). It's best for women with standards to quickly and quietly move on, if not, they run the risk of letting these men treat them like the women they are already with. I grew up in charlotte and can relate to your experiences.
I am from New York I am moving to Charlotte soon I’ve been there many times and loveeee it the weather ain’t a be deal to me because in NY the weather is brick in the winter and mad hot in the summer 😂 I can’t wait to move out there
Interesting enough it's actually the healthcare industry that are the largest employers in Charlotte. Banking definitely has a presence in Charlotte and it's what it's known for. But the healthcare network like Atrium and Novant Health employ the most people in Charlotte, that and like you said leisure & hospitality. I didn't find that out until about 2 years ago talking to a local recruiter after staying in CLT for over 10 years! When you go online to look for banking jobs in Charlotte you won't find a whole lot of them, not as much as you'd expect anyway, and definitely not the high powered ones because most of those are restricted for those with certain qualifications. But there seems to be more openings for the healthcare and leisure.
I appreciate the current tidbits. I had big plans to leave LA/So.Cal to NC this 2020. . and then Covid fkkkd my plans completely. Been planning this out since late last year. Can't believe how everything turned out. Anyways, its still in my radar. Once this miserable covid /lockdowns are over with, then I can pursure this journey. Meantime Just need to network with more out there, especially in the Charlotte/Concord area. Thanks again.

@@ericgerena793 I moved to the Charlotte area a couple of months ago and I really like it. I’m living on the outskirts and it’s more peaceful, the traffic is a whole lot better compared to ATL. There is still lots of development going on here with new home communities and apartments being built. Overall it just seems less crowded

Hello, honestly anything in Charlotte that’s nice and In a nice area will at least be $900 or over anything else isn’t going to be as nice or it’s not in the greatest area.. maybe you can try places surrounding Charlotte they may have cheaper places that are still nice and I don’t know much about Raleigh I’ve been there a few times and it wasn’t for me I didn’t like it ..it’s super country and everything is spread out where it takes at least 20-25 mins to get from one place to the next and being that I’m not from the country I personally could never do it lol but some people love it there 😌 Thank you for tuning in 😀

I lived up in the DMV my teenage years n then in Cali afterwards, when I use to go back to where I was born in So VA, I would see people, complete strangers waiving at me from their porch while I drove by and I loved that shit. In DC, where we use to live, people looking at each other was usually not too far from a confrontation lol
I lived in Charlotte almost 2 years,it seems like a big forest with all the trees,doesn't rain much,but look out,it comes down in buckets.It is a mix of southern hospitality and big city problems.NASCAR is huge,the Charlotte Knights are the AAA team of the ChicagoWhiteSox,the Charlotte Checkers are the AHL team of the FloridaPanthers.SpeedStreet,on Memorial Day weekend is awesome!

The university area is a nice area near the college and Charlotte is a city that is known for the banking industry so anything concerning finance pays well 😀 There are also other options of jobs that pay well too it just depends on what you would like to do but that’s the field that the city is known for . Ter e rucks charlotte city proper is more diversity than atlanta but i think atlanta suburbs are more diversity than charlotte but charlotte bet it out in the city limits charlotte is a better diversity city than atlanta trust me if you look diversity charlotte will be the city to move to

According To Queen thanks for responding! I’ve lived in GA and CA. Considering a move to NC, FL, or TX and dating is a motivating factor. Not willing to go north... Out of the country is probably best. Wish someone would do a study on where Black women have the most dating success. I think a lot of what Black women are experiencing in the US is due to an overall decline in the dating pool and health of the population (poor diet, environmental exposures, social issues, etc.).

Hey. I tried to get assistance with health insurance and it’s not like other states that I’ve been to. It doesn’t have an extended healthcare system like state insurance. Most likely you will need a full time job that provides health insurance. Hope that helps.

The cost of living is what’s driving me there. I want to be able to but a home and raise a family comfortably not living pay check to pay check. I heard it is easy to find work though!

Are the bugs really that bad? I keep hearing that....I have lived in LA for 14yrs but originally from WA state and we would get mosquitos and flies but nothing too crazy and theres lots of trees and green up there too...are the ticks a huge problem? Thats the only one that really scares me cuz of lyme disease...like are the bugs SO bad you wouldnt move there? Or just part of life? CA is like dead land...rock and dirt and 120 degrees this summer...I need some more nature in my life!

You're right on point, Queen. It's better to join groups and organizations as a way of meeting men with common interest or consider "Getting to Know" with men in other cities and even abroad. NOT ALL but, to many of them, young and old, here in Charlotte, are trying to get something for nothing. They don't recognize a blessing when they see it. And still, for too many men, they let their little head run their show (life). So a woman with standards, begains to see that a man is lacking in interesting conversation, positive life experiences and vision. Like the Bible says, " Don't cast your pearls before swine (pigs). It's best for women with standards to quickly and quietly move on, if not, they run the risk of letting these men treat them like the women they are already with. I grew up in charlotte and can relate to your experiences.

Interesting enough it's actually the healthcare industry that are the largest employers in Charlotte. Banking definitely has a presence in Charlotte and it's what it's known for. But the healthcare network like Atrium and Novant Health employ the most people in Charlotte, that and like you said leisure & hospitality. I didn't find that out until about 2 years ago talking to a local recruiter after staying in CLT for over 10 years! When you go online to look for banking jobs in Charlotte you won't find a whole lot of them, not as much as you'd expect anyway, and definitely not the high powered ones because most of those are restricted for those with certain qualifications. But there seems to be more openings for the healthcare and leisure.
Charlotte seems very chill maybe to chill but the diversity is always a plus. Great content 💕

@@ericgerena793 I moved to the Charlotte area a couple of months ago and I really like it. I’m living on the outskirts and it’s more peaceful, the traffic is a whole lot better compared to ATL. There is still lots of development going on here with new home communities and apartments being built. Overall it just seems less crowded

Hello, honestly anything in Charlotte that’s nice and In a nice area will at least be $900 or over anything else isn’t going to be as nice or it’s not in the greatest area.. maybe you can try places surrounding Charlotte they may have cheaper places that are still nice and I don’t know much about Raleigh I’ve been there a few times and it wasn’t for me I didn’t like it ..it’s super country and everything is spread out where it takes at least 20-25 mins to get from one place to the next and being that I’m not from the country I personally could never do it lol but some people love it there 😌 Thank you for tuning in 😀

@@AccordingToQueen I'm originally from Charleston SC. When I'm visiting my cousins there I notice that in general people will speak in passing. Young, old, black, white, it doesn't matter. Much friendlier unlike Cincinnati.
I lived up in the DMV my teenage years n then in Cali afterwards, when I use to go back to where I was born in So VA, I would see people, complete strangers waiving at me from their porch while I drove by and I loved that shit. In DC, where we use to live, people looking at each other was usually not too far from a confrontation lol
I lived in Charlotte almost 2 years,it seems like a big forest with all the trees,doesn't rain much,but look out,it comes down in buckets.It is a mix of southern hospitality and big city problems.NASCAR is huge,the Charlotte Knights are the AAA team of the ChicagoWhiteSox,the Charlotte Checkers are the AHL team of the FloridaPanthers.SpeedStreet,on Memorial Day weekend is awesome!

According To Queen thanks for responding! I’ve lived in GA and CA. Considering a move to NC, FL, or TX and dating is a motivating factor. Not willing to go north... Out of the country is probably best. Wish someone would do a study on where Black women have the most dating success. I think a lot of what Black women are experiencing in the US is due to an overall decline in the dating pool and health of the population (poor diet, environmental exposures, social issues, etc.).

Hey. I tried to get assistance with health insurance and it’s not like other states that I’ve been to. It doesn’t have an extended healthcare system like state insurance. Most likely you will need a full time job that provides health insurance. Hope that helps.

ajmarsh07 not for a job, currently doing long distance and my boyfriend lives in Charlotte. However, I had made plans on moving before I even met him! Crazy right! The cost of living is what’s driving me there. I want to be able to but a home and raise a family comfortably not living pay check to pay check. I heard it is easy to find work though!

As an NC native, the two off the top of my head would be the museum of modern art and there’s the NASCAR Museum.
My job (northern ca based) is expanding to Charlotte and I am thinking about moving. I have an 11 yr old son and need to make sure he is safe and there are good schools.

Same question as Jerry.. I’m coming from Miami where it is diverse. I want BLACK lol I’ve lived in Atlanta and it was amazing but too congested. But I will go back for my black population. Can’t get a job here because you gotta be bilingual. I don’t have time for that.

Are the bugs really that bad? I keep hearing that....I have lived in LA for 14yrs but originally from WA state and we would get mosquitos and flies but nothing too crazy and theres lots of trees and green up there too...are the ticks a huge problem? Thats the only one that really scares me cuz of lyme disease...like are the bugs SO bad you wouldnt move there? Or just part of life? CA is like dead land...rock and dirt and 120 degrees this summer...I need some more nature in my life!
