Born and raised in Charlotte. Believe it or not uptown used to be kinda ghetto lol and most of our “Projects/Hoods” have been torn down and gentrified so I’m happy to see what it has become I never would’ve thought so many people would move here and like it. Living here since birth I decided to move on the outskirts of Charlotte in 2020 but I love to see my city thriving and all the new people here💪🏾💪🏾
Facts all facts very similar story i lived near uptown off statesville road
The banks are FORCING all of us to move to Charlotte in order to keep our jobs. Most of the people who you see in uptown are not originally from Charlotte and they didn't move to Charlotte because they wanted to.
Charlotte is important to the banks because of the stock trading floor that we have there......and it's New York City that is behind the scenes building Charlotte.
I moved to Charolette in April of 2023 and It’s the best move I’ve ever made I love the city so much to do and so many restaurants opening up. You won’t regret it. 🎉🎉🎉
Happy one year anniversary sis !! So glad to hear you love it ! I’m starting to love it a lot more as I’m exploring more places ! ❤️
It's always so interesting to see the city from other people's view. I've been living in Charlotte for 13 years and I don't see myself anywhere else.💖
I’m moving to Charlotte from NYC next month July and I am sooooooo excited 😊
Awww that’s so awesome !!! ❤️❤️ so excited for you!!
Charlotte is becoming the Atlanta PT 2. The traffic is crazy now. Jobs are hard to find and they don’t pay enough for the cost of living. The food is ok. Unless you have money. Charlotte is not the move now.
Damn
Disagree…they’ve been suggesting it for years. Maybe in buildings & the southern vibe but no way near an ATL. 🫡My opinion. Atlanta is ultra vibrant. Charlotte is dead!!
@@whj60632 I suggest you go do your research sir: The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance reported about 113 people moved to the Charlotte metro every day between mid-2021 and mid-2022. That's more than 41,000 people moving to the region every year. Charlotte is on the come up.. trust me
Please!!… no one else move here, we are full😩
I live here and the food is TRASH!
It is so wonderful that you are exploring and living life to the fullest! Keep on living your dreams.
Aww thank you so much!😊
Love the rooftops in Charlotte. The city is beautiful from Nuvole at night. It's 22 stories into the skyline. Love it!!❤❤
I’m glad you loved it here. Charlotte is amazing!
I've been considering moving to Charlotte. This video was super helpful!!
So glad it helpful! ❤️❤️
We’re full 😅
Oh wow. You taught me something about charlotte I didn’t know before. 🤓 thank you
Thank you !! Glad it was helpful!
your gallery wall in the bg is so cute 🥰
Thank you!! 😊
People move to Charlotte to either retire or to be trendy, I’m a little over it 😭. The traffic is the biggest annoyance but there is a plethora of things to do… mainly restaurants which attracts the foodie crowd
Edit: … Northlake has a bad rep and they do shoot pretty often there, don’t be fooled Charlotte is hood and people get sold on uptown because of how nice looking it is but it’s a larger city outside of uptown and you do have to be aware of your surroundings
Haha I can see that definitely being the reasons !😂 I can definitely agree with it being a plethora of things to mostly being restaurants ! I’m a bit of a foodie so I love it 😂
@@DesirableBeautyy girl I’m w/ you lol it’s fun to try new spots
Oh no! I’ve only encountered one “crazy “ experience at Northlake so far where someone was trying to steal from the Dillards lol but that’s about it . Thank God I haven’t witnessed the shooting !! That’s terrible !
I’m happy I’ve come across your video. Charlotte will be my next move, I will be up there in August to look at apartments and planned move for December 2024. I also currently live in Houston Texas, and I have also lived in Dallas Texas. So if you have any questions ask away.
Awww I’m so glad you came across the video and watched it ! I think you will really like it here ! I’d you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out !
And omf you’re coming from Texas? Wow!
Dallas is somewhere I really want to live !
Yes I have so many questions ! lol
What is the cost of living like over there ? Is the weather always hot ?
What are the people like ?
@@DesirableBeautyy So Dallas is a very beautiful city I lived there 1yr in 2023, I sometimes debate if I gave it a fair chance and should try again. It’s expensive I’m not going to lie, if you like luxury expect to spend luxury money. I paid $1600 for a 612sqft apartment 🥴 but I also lived in Addision right by the beltline, which has alot of restaurants and shopping. I would say if you plan on living within the metroplex expect to pay more. Outskirts will be cheaper some great areas Addison, Farmers Branch, Plano, Frisco( very far but nice) Las Colinas, Irving. Also no state income tax in Texas, and no property tax on vehicles. You do have to renew your registration every yr which is easy. I do it from a app on my phone, get a inspection and then just complete the rest on my app they send a sticker. I only stepped foot in a DMV 1 in 5yrs I’ve lived in Texas. It’s extremely hot in Texas due to the humidity, I haven’t been to Charlotte yet so I can’t really compare. Texas heat is no joke especially summertime, you will literally not want to step foot outdoors. I think Houston humidity is alot worse than Dallas. It does get cold in Dallas to me and I’m comparing this to Houston a place that doesn’t get really cold. Dallas also gets snow occasionally so expect the city to shut completely down and everyone to panic because they’re not equipped for that type of weather. I’m from the Midwest so it amazes me how they act over alittle snow🙄. Also our power grid sucks so expect to lose power occasionally 😩. Now as fas as the people 😂 Dallas is Boujee and not really in a nice boujee more of like a pretentious boujee. I tell people this all the time you either get really hood in Dallas or really Boujee there is no inbetween. I found it harder to make friends in Dallas than I did in Houston because people aren’t as friendly in Dallas than they are in Houston in my opinion. If you are able to make friends in Dallas I think you will have a great experience. I will also say I think it’s alittle segregated in Dallas, it’s most def not as diverse as Houston. I do think they are really trying to grow the black scene in Dallas with the black owned restaurants and businesses, but it’s not there just yet. I’m going to be honest don’t expect great food in Dallas, I was able to find a few places I love and eat at everytime I go back to visit. Dallas is really growing alot of corporations have offices there, they are building a disney world in Frisco, 2 airports DFW and Southwest Airlines has their own airport there Love Field. I would say if you haven’t visit yet most definitely do so and stay for about a week, you can even take a day trip down to Houston straight drive down 45 it’s only 3 1/2 hrs away. Alot of people either really love Dallas, or just think it’s a ok city.
Wow. I currently live in Houston (Katy) and I’m planning to relocate to Charlotte in Dec 2024 too! What a coincidence! I’m a Chicago native.
This was very helpful. I am trying to leave TX for Charlotte next year. Prayers for you and your well-being. ❤
Thank you for watching !!im glad it was helpful!❤️ if I may ask , what part of Texas? As I want to try Dallas next year!
Prayers for you as well!! ❤️❤️
Been here all my life, I’m ready to gooo 😂
Looool aww how come?
Thank you for sharing this video. Be encouraged. Keep praying and seeking God. Stay in His Word. He's got awesome things for you just on the horizon.🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
Thank you so much for your encouraging words !❤️
You are most welcome! ❤️
Hey! Welcome to Charlotte, if you don’t already attend Union Church Charlotte you should, it’s an amazing church!
Hey! Thank you so much!! And I actually do attend that church!❤️❤️❤️
@@DesirableBeautyy Good, I hope to see you around one day!❤️❤️
I love Union ❤️
I heard of Elevation Church. It's in Charlotte. Pastor Stephen Furtic is the leader of the church.
I left Alabama and came to DC. I am considering moving back to the south but the money has to make sense. I wouldn’t ever move to the south to make lower than what I’m making now. I like DC but the traffic is crazy. I’ve gotten used to it. The advantage is there is always something to do and somewhere to go, the disadvantage is finding somewhere to park your car while you step out or coming back home at night to no parking space available. That’s the only thing. Other than that, I have four or five states within the area of the DMV that I can visit so I’m never bored I have family here but I don’t know them. My work and church family make it easier to live here.
Just moved in a few weeks ago! Loving it sooo far. But these trucks!!!! I’ve never seen so many where I’m from. And they drive in all lanes, which I’m not used to at all 😅
lol! That’s so me! Like it’s so many of them !! I’ve never seen so much from what I’m from either!!
Y’all stop talking about me I’m right here! I drive big trucks and yes I be in all lanes
This made me hungry. Lots of good food and fun places out here right now
For sure!
Seeing how the city has changed so much in years has been awesome. I've lived in different parts of charlotte including uptown but now I'm in Huntersville (15 minutes from uptown) with the lake across the street, I love it even more. I travel twice a month and I do not like other places minus vacations or trips but would never live there. Other places just seem dirty and weird lol
Yes, we drive fast here! So do not be cruising in the fast lane or we are going to be on that bumper and force you out the way
Omg this was informative. I was trying to choose between Charlotte,NC or Dallas/Houston,TX. I’m moving to Charlotte
I’m so glad it was helpful!!❤️ Dallas is on the list for next year!
@@DesirableBeautyyyour video was very helpful. But, why are considering leaving Charlotte for Dallas? We are still trying to decide if we go to Charlotte or Houston so your thoughts on that will be helpful too
I’m currently researching between Dallas and Charlotte as well. Wishing you the best 💛.
@@mz_marmar89 Thank you! Same to you on your decision!
@@fernandom77because Texas was always somewhere I wanted to live as well! And so while I can and have that freedom I want to give it a shot !❤
Thank you for making this video! I will be moving to Charlotte soon and so this video was very helpful to get an idea of what the city is like. What was the name of the Facebook group?
So glad you found the video informative !! ❤️ the group is called Official Charlotte NC women making new friends ❤️❤️
I like that same type of “ outside “ you like! I hope Uptown got spots for grown ( over 30 ) people
Yes! It does !
@@DesirableBeautyy good! I need that
Yes! I’m over 30
I’m debating whether Texas or North Carolina just like you but as far as now I’m thinking North Carolina it comes down to job opportunity at this point
I moved there for a year at the start of COVID which was sad because I couldn’t explore it really. It was during lockdown. I lived in Huntersville which is a suburb north of CLT (like 15 min drive or less from Uptown) and I LOVED it. So many parks and trails and good food and diversity and uptown is beautiful. I grew up in Atlanta and it felt like home but better in terms of traffic, just quieter and safer. Better apts. I want to move back actually:)
I’m familiar with the Huntersville area ! I actually really like that area.
Charlotte is really nice ❤
Love your videos❤
Awww thank you so much!❤️
Charlotte is considered a banking capital not really for partied but we have dope situations
I was considering moving to NC still up in air, I lived In virginia for 7 years and currently

Soo happy for you!! I hope you get the job girl!! Put me on!! Loool and if you mean zip codes 28027 (concord area ),28104, 28105 (matthews ), 28078 (huntersville ), 28035 (Davidson ) 28075 (Harrisburg ) these are a few I can think of!
Dope video 🎉❤
Thank you !!
@@DesirableBeautyy You’re welcome, Are you single?
I just moved here last month 🙌💯#charlotte
You fine!! 🫶🏾
Thank you!
I love Charlotte, I am from BMore and I currently living in NOVA DC..I love NOVA /DC area as well. Charlotte reminds me of NOVA but at a slower pace..I am going back n forth about NOVA and Charlotte. NOVA/DC is crowded and overpriced…but it comes with so much. When I use to stay in Charlotte for 6 months, I never saw a restaurant packed like it is UP HERE. Great areas in Charlotte, but Charlotte is still not organized in terms of the Hood/ and up scale. you can be driving down South blvd and turn a corner, and be in the Hood. I think its because they are still extending the area, by tearing down the projects and building up that area with luxury apartments…but other then that Charlotte is pretty decent.
I love the nova/dc area! I visit there often!
And I totally agree with it not being completelu organized yet ! That was my initial thought when I moved here . You’re totally right about how you can be in “up scale “ area and then go up a few blocks you’re in the hood and then right back in an upscale area lol it seems they are still developing !
@@DesirableBeautyyyup😂. Love the arts district down Davison st..I think. But yeah good luck on your search. I am hesitant to try Houston. 7 years ago I wanted to go, but everyone is going down there, just like they did Atlanta 15 years ago.
Atlanta too in some areas
@@yusefimmanuel6377thanks ! And I didn’t want to move to Houston . I was going for Dallas or honestly even Austin!
🔥🔥
Thank you!❤
@@DesirableBeautyy of course
What part of VA you from
The cost of living has skyrocketed
It really has! I never would have thought I would be paying what I pay in rent now ! Cost of living is insane now !
I’m from Texas and live in Charlotte if you think Charlotte is 🥵 hot you’re sure to fry in Texas, any where in Texas
Yooo! I’m from Texas and moving to Charlotte next month! How you like it ?
😂😂😂 I’ve definitely been told this !! I’ll be ready for it !! lol
@@Betterdailyy I still love Texas but Charlotte is a vibe and makes me miss home less. I will never miss Houston’s weather!!!Disclosure: I’m married with a couple of kids too
@@Cinnamon_Shaw That’s so dope! I hope I find a wife when I get out there. This gives me hope! Did you find your husband in Charlotte
@@Betterdailyy no we met when he visited Houston
Gastonia is a little cheaper and just 10-15 min from Charlotte.
Oh wow! Thanks for letting me know!!❤️
I’ve moved form DMV to Charlotte March 2923. Still here, may I add. I’ve given it a year & honestly dislike it. The drivers can’t drive to save their life. TURN SIGNALS for one. If you’ve lived in a bigger metropolitan city, this place will be challenging for you. Fortunately, I’m in a position to moved back to DMV or somewhere else WEST. Charlotte isn’t the move. Recommend researching it beforehand. However, thank you for sharing the content.
Trust me I feel you 100% on the drivers ! That’s something I mentioned in the video! They drive insane out here ! lol
Thanks for commenting !! And thanks for watching !!
Im one of the few native Charlotteans left. The drivers aren't from Charlotte. There are a lot of transplants that brought their bad habits, including litter and crime.
Charlotte is full of transplants now. Prior to COVID the city had a great vibe, but now it’s very blah. I feel like it’s a city without a soul. It has a lot of places, but no real entertainment until events hit. A major city definitely needs consistent entertainment. At the end of the day it’s a blue collar city. Don’t come thinking it’s Atl, people still have actual jobs (9-5). The city sleeps. It’s also expensive without cause. Apartment wise.
@@quirkyteacher6085 You say Charlotte is a Blue Collar city?? I would think Charlotte is more of a White collar city. A lot of banking jobs and finance. Blue collar is more of manufacturing and labor jobs.
@@quirkyteacher6085”the city sleeps “ is something I’ve noticed lol
👍
If it was not for me being FORCED to be in Charlotte I would be in Atlanta.... straight up!!! Unfortunately I'm forced to work in an office over here 3 days a week but thank God I'm home in Atlanta the rest of the week.
For everything that Charlotte has Atlanta and it's surrounding areas have 5. And then there are all of the things that Atlanta has (5 -7 food halls) (4-5 international Farmers markets), Buford highway Asia town...... Charlotte has none of these things. Optimist Hall is small.....go to Atlanta and check out Ponce City Market, Chattahoochee Food works and all of the multiple food halls that Atlanta has. Then come back and let me know when you will be packing your furniture and moving to ATL.
Bottom line is this..... Charlotte is a baby that's just having a booming moment for the next 10 years. Its trying to be the next ATL.....no originality, no 6 lane highway to handle the traffic, just trying to copy ATL.
After the banks get bored with Charlotte it will go back to the quiet southern city that it once was.
If you love having a slew of bars, lounges, restaurants and things to do you will find Charlotte BORING!!!
This is the first time that I've seen a city where people are at home on a Friday and Saturday night.....pull up in the parking lot and everyone's car is there parked. Why are they at home on a Friday and Saturday night??? Because Charlotte NC is BORING.
How far away are the beaches?
Depends on where, but most beaches are about 3 1/2 maybe 4 hour drive.
@@VW1801 Thank you, this is good to know. I would want to live no more than 20-30 minutes from the beach.
Like they said depends on where you are but there is one particular beach that I know of that’s about 45 mins to 1 hour

Chatlotte Sux! Its terrible here! They cannot drive here, not many opportunities nor room for growth, its nothing here. My opinion ... im tryna get out of here asap
Oh no’! Im sorry that’s been your experience!😔
Charlotte is a money city
Charlotte it’s full of weirdos and ppl dat like to pull up at yo crib don’t let nobody know where u lay yo head they gone stalk u🤣🤣
I moved to Charlotte from Atlanta after living there for 11 years and I made a good decision to move here. I left Atlanta because it was too big for me and to many people are cutthroat and I felt like I did everything I wanted so it was time to move on. I spent sometime in Dallas and Houston I feel like those cities are similar to Atlanta... Houston is huge too big for me. I like the Carolinas it works best besides I can always visit these other places I just don't want to live there. The cost of living has gone up over the years here for sure however it's still less than places like Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Peace!
Ty for sharing ❤
