One thing I teach my interns, is to draw a line on the gussets where the seam allowance will be. This way they can snip close to that line! Thanks for all your tips and tutorials!
@@AllieSewCrafty thank you sis. Another request. Can we use piping to join the flap and bag bodices?. I bought a small drawstring bag from China. Cant figure the piping join they used for this bag
@@kanamuthurajah9852 Piping can be used yes, but piping is more decorative, you stitch it between the flap and panel. When I want to figure out how something was made, I take it apart step by step, writing it down so I know how to trace it back. :)
Thank you for this video it had great tips. Could you also create a video on how to measure a gusset for a bag? I am having no luck finding this and I would love to know ❤
Hi, yes I can try, but it'll be a while before I can make a video about that. What exactly are you trying to do? I follow another sewing channel on Tiktok and she suggests using a tool like this one to measure gussets. I haven't used this tool, but a lot of people rave about it. Check it out here amzn.to/3PHQmSI
@@AllieSewCrafty hi thank you, Yes this would work. I am trying to know how much fabric to cut for the gusset in order of it to fit around the main panel perfectly.
