"Drinking can lead to poor decisions" 😂😂😂 you can say that again 😂😂😂. I love the tip about eating something before you go somewhere. Last year I decided to go off keto for a week between Christmas and New Year and the entire week I obsessed about all the carb filled foods that I wanted to eat that week. I actually made a list because I didn't want to forget anything. I was acting like all these food were about to disappear off the face of the earth 🙄 and if I didn't eat them all u would never be able to have them again 😅. Well all those foods still exist (unfortunately ). I won't ever do that again. I gained 10lbs 😡
Wow, does that resonate. I have always had that feeling of "those" foods disappearing before I could eat them. Now, I hope these tips and intermittent fasting will help me avoid temptation and recover afterwards.

I made nearly all ahead of time, some I could freeze and thaw just before, some I made bits and parts ahead and put it together the night before but it was all so satisfying and even more so knowing I was staying Keto! I was going to say basically the same things. 🙂 My extended family celebrates Christmas Eve at one of my siblings' bigger houses. This year, I'm going to take some stuff everyone will like. But - since I can't have the meal my sister always brings (fried chicken and dumplings and gravy), I'm going to bring my own fried chicken, and keto biscuits and gravy. I'll probably also tuck a snack bag of keto sweets in my purse in case I get a craving for something I shouldn't have. I don't care if everyone likes it or not. They're family. I don't like a lot of things they do, lol. It might be different at a dinner party with friends, but real friends shouldn't be bothered if you have to bring your own food - as long as you keep it close to what everyone else would be having.
I did the same last year and was surprised how good all the dupes came out: cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie, gravy, etc. the only fail was oyster dressing which was more like pudding, but still tasted good. (the next day I added cream and nut milk to make oyster stew out of it)
@@sharenwilde24 That sounds interesting. I’ve only ever had smoked oysters out of the can and fried oysters and I love both (not to be confused with oyster fries-no thank you). Hi! Great video. Holidays can be tricky, that's for certain. Having Crohn's disease, there isn't anyway I would be tempted. Pain is a real good motivator. So I have thrifted around for the cutest little travel containers, and fill them with keto/carnivore things I can have and enjoy them. The fun thing is that my grandchildren love to come and see what gramma has and of course they need to sample some, (I always pack extra), especially my gelatin, and we have a great time. Down in my heart I'd love to eat with the rest of the family, but basically it's a matter of acceptance. 🍗
I'm sorry to be mean but there is absolutely no excuse for anyone who is actively trying to lose weight to have a high carb meal other than ON THE ACTUAL HOLIDAY. There's just not, they do it because they're weak. I'm having carbs at my one meal on Thanksgiving and the day after because we always make enough food to feast for days. Then I will eat carbs on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I will go right back to Keto the rest of the days surrounding those and I know I can because that's how I've lived all year. I just cannot imagine working my ass off all year to lose weight and then being like, "well I'm just gonna take the holidays off." I mean that cracks me up and makes me sad at the same time! This is a very important video! So glad you made it! ----- oh and PS: DON'T EAT SUGAR PEOPLE!! You'll have to detox again! Even if you make a regular dessert, use Swerve or Allulose, not refined sugar!
I always bring something I can eat! I brought cauliflower mac and cheese last year to avoid eating potatoes. It worked. There was no cauliflower left because everyone tried it too.
Throwing it down the gullet has helped me so many times. A complete 180 from saving my calories which has bit me in the ass more times than I can count.
Scarcity mindset - so freaking true!! So me 🤦🏻♀️ And the four days as opposed to two months…exactly!!! We really fool ourselves don’t we?! SMH I love you guys - thanks for these videos!! ❤
Its easy now 2yrs keto cause i love my food and i feel amazing but everyone else complains and feels terrible or has obvious health issue i choose keto every single day because the physical and mental benefits taste better than anything sugary and processed ever did
I plan on staying low carb this holiday season, but I will be making smaller versions of the higher carb foods, so I will indulge with keto breads and sugar free sweets. It won’t be clean, but it won’t make me crave all those things afterwards.
That’s what I do. Helps for sure. One year I made keto pumpkin pie and pecan pie. I also brought sugar free cranberry sauce and loaded baked cauliflower mash. I just thought about the most tempting dishes and made keto subs.
Spoil your appetite! Love this! Thankful that my family does not push food. I eat Turkey, green beans, raw veggies and pickles at Thanksgiving. For Christmas, we meet the Saturday before Christmas Day. We only serve foods that are easy to eat with your hands. Kids are too excited to eat a big meal. Works for us and I stay on keto.
hello ladies, I feel like everything you guys said is so true. recently in September there was an Indian festival, i was traveling. i told myself i deserve to enjoy the culture of the local place, i had a full carb filled meal. I didn't go back to eating keto next meal. i thought everything i could before before i started keto. the emotional aspect to it. i had even enjoyed bday meal in July. again, this time i was more emotionally vulnerable, it took me almost a month to feel like eating keto is the only way. i constantly kept thinking about what carb filled meal i could eat, it's the nostalgia, that these foods once filled a void in me. i had gained about good 10-12 pounds. not to mention, being on carbs i feel sluggish, shitty mood. After being on keto since April 2021, this is the first time this has happened. i feel bit disgusted to think how obsessed carbs make me and it's almost like i have no will power or control. also insulin spikes are no joke. sugar affects our moods, harmones everything. i recently did a 72 hour fast, lost 3 pounds. dads bday comes, had a few sips of beers, 1 or 2 bites of rice. knew had to go back to fasting and then keto immediately. 36 hours fast later. had a meal. again daily 16-20 hours fast. carbs is really an addiction for me. i wish i knew this earlier. only being on keto for so long has shown me how right food can make me feel. Keto & low carb is the way to go for me in my life. ♥️💫 lost about 14kgs on keto, 30+ kgs entire life. i love that i have you guys on this journey with me. happy holidays!
The best tip I've taken from you guys is the 'eat before you go out' tip. It works so well and has saved me a few times now. So simple yet incredibly effective. Much appreciated.
I love this video. I'm not keto, but I appreciate your philosophy and level heads. I am thinking about applying the same principles... eat something on my diet plan before I go, make sure I eat the things I can eat, and wait 10 minutes before having the other stuff. This is gold!!
Great video!! I will definitely be spoiling my appetite for Thanksgiving and Christmas! This is always the time of year where no matter how hard I try, I always get off track and gain weight!!
All excellent advice! I think of every day as being keto/carnivore, so even if I had something (today it was a samosa) the rest of the day is going to be keto. That wasn't my mentality before, if I had one thing off diet, the entire day was shot. I think that when you change your thinking to "I'm going to do this for the rest of my life", you stop having those days. Not that you'll never have temptations again, but things get a little easier.
yes!!!!! That's me too! I eat one meal a day basically so if I eat some fries, then the rest of the day is carnivore and the next day is salad and meat only. We have to learn to stop flipping out and falling completely off the wagon.
Thank you for this video ❤ im going to an all inclusive hotel in the maldives in march, first I was thinking to go of keto for the first time in months, now I think it’s probably best to keep it as low carb as possible. I don’t want to feel bad when I paid so much for a holiday, best to keep it keto as much as possible ❤
They will have meats and cheeses you can eat. I take some of my own bread choices (I make them) and desserts , I make ahead. Many cookies, and things like zucchini breads keep well for me. I hope you have a fun time and come out in the end very happy with your choices! And maybe even a couple of pounds lighter! I have had that happen. Vyci(Ron’s wife)
I love the holiday strategies! These definitely apply year round! I’ll be making some keto adapted recipes for my holiday gatherings. I’ll look for cookie shaped pans for sugar cookies as I’m not sure how well a keto cookie would roll and hold shape. Cheese cake is a must too!
Yesterday I ate fruitcake cookies. Today I’m behaving. On Christmas I will eat reasonable amounts of forbidden foods 🤞. We’re having tons of meat and I’m taking a veggie tray and an olive tray. Why do we think we have have a GIANT piece of cake or huge glass of eggnog? We don’t! Small amounts is all we need. Merry Christmas, y’all!
this is so true! I have always had the "holiday eat what I want" mentality, no matter what I type of diet I followed. I need to watch this every day during the holidays to remind myself. ;) ok to have treats, but not entire days or weeks of treats! Thank you!!
My plan is to make keto desserts. I'm practicing now so they are great for the holidays. Then, I will eat my desserts, turkey, collard greens, ham, cauli-mac and deviled eggs. NO CHEATING! (Pecan pie, some kind of cookie and carrot cake, fyi.)
@@technicallyketo me too, I guess it's my old age or something I had no idea you girls 🥰 had another channel but I'm here for it ..y'all are the bomb 💣
I am resolved to remain keto. I will just stay away from gatherings. I now stuff myself with beef and butter if I am going somewhere there will be FOOD!
Some people actually take the day before Thanksgiving through Christmas evening as a Cheat Month😱😵💫 They said eating a “little of everything they want “ keeps them from eating everything on the menu to they are full. I do my best not to eat sugar at family functions, that cuts most food items on the “ black list” I take my treats with me 👍🏻
I am enjoying the new channel. Maybe sometime you could share more about your hydroponic tower and possibly your outdoor gardens in the spring? Gardening fanatic here and it makes me happy to what others are growing. 😍
The last several years I’ve been doing keto Thanksgiving. This year since I’ve turned carnivore and lost over 20 pounds because I gained it at two vacations I have a different plan. I’m not doing the traditional cauliflower mash I’m just making my protein sparing modified bread which I must say is the best recipe and making stuffing and having gravy made with xanthum gum. I probably won’t be doing the sweet potatoes either but my protein sparing modified rolls are going to be epic. I am going to try even harder this year than I have ever before. I gained so much weight by March I was back up into a 16 and now I am back into a 12 and I have a pair of tens I’ve been trying to get into for six years that I can now where. My favorite is pumpkin pie that is my problem. Mashed potatoes are not my problem rolls are probably up there but pumpkin pie that’s my jam
I had a cheat day recenty and suddenly became dizzy,, nauseous and broke into a sweat. It was scary. I think I ate way too fast because I was excited but now I just make sure to slow it down. I usually pack me some nuts and eat them on the way before I go to any event or gathering! Its true I am always less hungry!!!
@@technicallyketo I read on some keto forum that it could have been either not getting enough salt or a drop in blood pressure. I need to make sure I am getting all my keto supplements. :/
Thank you BOTH for being so HONEST about the "effects" of eating non-Keto foods. I'm new to Keto & have eaten " regular" foods (sugar mainly) twice. OMG, the bloating, abdominal pain & DIARRHEA!!! 😱 I looked all over TH-cam for someone to say if this was normal...nothing. No one was talking about it. I thought there was something terribly wrong with me! Anyway, I know this isn't the cruxt of this episode, but...THANKS again!!👍😁
These strategies work. Eating before going to a family event, and if you have a glass of wine keep it in a small glass and then just have a small amount.
You have to eat the appropriate things though. I had so-called healthy foods at my daughters house because they had pizza for a party and she had veggie and fruit trays. I had about a cup of fresh carrots cauliflower broccoli a few berries total and by that night I could not walk my hip hurt so bad. I have a lot of foods I cannot eat so the protein tip is very good. I know what’s causing my issues I just need to stay away from them. I have a different view on the holidays this year
Good chat, ladies. It took me years to hit that point where I can say no to the food pushers. I also always bring something keto with me as a backup plan.
I really needed to hear this this week. I've been housesitting all week and have fallen off the keto wagon. I have no self control and I've been eating the family's "Naughty" food like I'm starving to death. Crazy!!!! Thank you for your encouragement and great suggestions. I'm definitely going to eat the meat and veggies first this Thanksgiving and Christmas and bring some Keto desserts to share with my family.
I did really well the first 3 months I've lost like 37 lb and now I've been obsessed with drinking iced coffee with condensed milk and since I've been doing that I haven't been losing my weight so I'm bummed out and I bought the condensed milk you make a sugar-free and I just haven't made it yet I've been lazy so yeah I've been cheating and I'm not losing
She made spanakopita which is filo dough with spinach and feta (I loved her dearly but this was the only thing she made that was really good! Lol) we haven’t tried to make it keto but I bet it’s possible! :)
I've got that same binging attitude. I planned to stay keto while I was on vacation. I brought keto food with us on the drive. But when I got there....well, my family loves to push and I'm a push-over! I'm really afraid as the holidays start. I will try my best and still give myself grace, but I plan to stay keto and not fall off. On another note, I find my biggest challenge is boredom eating. I have a "sit down" job. I'm not hungry, I don't even want the food, but I'll eat it because for some reason, when I sit, I have to put something in my gape. I could use some help with this. Any suggestions?
Make a “popcorn” bowl of diced celery, half a small carrot diced, jicama, and raw cauliflower. Season with Everything But The Bagel seasoning and nibble away. Sometimes just a few celery slices will kill the desire for something crunchy and salty. No one ever got fat on celery. 😊
Love your videos! This one spoke to me especially. It is so hard to give up carbs. I've been trying and trying. My craving is so great. How does one get into the right mindset? I know what I should and should not do, and I still give in. I get so disappointed with myself. Always trying. 👍
I could not curb cravings until I started carnivore and gave up artificial sweeteners and really eat a lot of fat. Keep tweaking it until it works. Good luck
I stay keto. It's easy for me. What I dont understand...its one day for Thanksgiving and one day for Christmas. Its just excuses to eat the SAD diet for month's.

Why all my female mother figures died in the manner they did (cancer) I don't get. ? What did they do that the male figures didn't do?? My mom was ALWAYS on a diet. She went to doctors for help. I never saw her eat wrong. Except for doctor approved 6 meals a day, margerine instead of bad butter, no eggs. All the good stuff her doctor told her. Its all crazy.
I love these talking heads videos. So many good nuggets. Please keep telling it like it is. I need to hear it. (PS throwing it down the gullet works!)
Thank you! And saying “throwing it down the gullet” makes us laugh too 🤣
Spoil your appetite!
Love that Bev!
hello ladies, I feel like everything you guys said is so true. recently in September there was an Indian festival, i was traveling. i told myself i deserve to enjoy the culture of the local place, i had a full carb filled meal.
Good, common sense advice. I have a bite or two if I want it but it doesn't always taste that good.
I thought you guys were going to bake a pie 🥧!! 😹😹 Great advice ladies as always 🙌
Maybe on the other channel soon! :)
Wonderful advice! Lucky for me I am cooking thanksgiving and christmas dinner. I do christmas breakfast with my grandchildren so I am so in control.
Thank you both! My kids will eat anything keto, husband is pickier and harder to please! I love watching to plan what I’m cooking! This helps so much!
I also load up on the Keto stuff so if anyone is watching they see I am pigging out!LOL
Thank you!!
You’ve got this Cynthia! :) :)
My girls 🥰 how did I miss this channel?? it's ok I'm here now 😁😁
Yay! Happy you found us here too Lori 🤗🤗-em
You can order 1\4 lb patties ala carte for about $1.50 each & cheese .30. Multiple patties for less than the full burger w/o the bun.
Some people actually take the day before Thanksgiving through Christmas evening as a Cheat Month😱😵💫
They said eating a “little of everything they want “ keeps them from eating everything on the menu to they are full.
That’s quite the reaction! 😢
@@technicallyketo I read on some keto forum that it could have been either not getting enough salt or a drop in blood pressure. I need to make sure I am getting all my keto supplements. :/
Thanks for sharing such great tips to succeed during the holidays! Have a blessed week 💜🙏✌️🍁🎃🍃🧡🏵
This is the best advice! All of it! I live by the strategy you shared today. Thank you! ❤
Thatnk you for the talk. I was actually thinking about stuffing today and my mouth was watering.......
It’s the ugly side of cheating on keto for sure!
Always enjoy your talking/advice videos!
awesome! it starts for me with CANADIAN thanks giving (oct 10) until jan 1 - will be rewatchign this vid hahaha
These strategies work. Eating before going to a family event, and if you have a glass of wine keep it in a small glass and then just have a small amount.
Thank you ladies! There are so many Keto versions of Holiday favorites. Like you 2 always say, Keto is sustainable.
I have a different view on the holidays this year
I’m going to make my traditional meals keto it’s not hard to do I don’t believe
Great video you two. This was very helpful and will be on my mind when the holidays get here. Thank you so much!!!
Thanks Girls great advice! Going to stay in Keto!
2 mini Babybels before temptation has helped me so many times!
Good chat, ladies. It took me years to hit that point where I can say no to the food pushers. I also always bring something keto with me as a backup plan.
Absolutely! A great idea to carry something with you that you can eat.
Great advice!
Love the tips!
wow you too are so helpful! I will definitely try to use these tips!
Awesome advise! Thank you so much for this :)
Condensed milk is very high in fat, you might have to cut it, unfortunately, we’ve been drinking out coffee mostly black for years
Good advice, great channel. Now following my new friend..
I sooo needed to hear this! Thank you!!
🤗🤗🤗
Fell off for the weekend of my birthday. Gained 2 pounds. Took a week to get it back off!
I bet it’s water weight! That’s happened to us before too :)
@@technicallyketo thanks!❤️
Thanks, girls!
Love both of your channels. I’m not good about staying Keto. But I’m trying. I’m old (70) with 30 pounds to go.😢
We were on and off keto for 20 years Brenda! Keep trying, you will get there! Only think about the next meal, you’ve got this! -Em
@@technicallyketo thank you. You made me cry. It’s nice to think someone cares!❤️❤️❤️
I’m 73. Lost 40 lbs two years ago and have kept it off. You’ve got this!
@@pinehillart Thank you ❤️
Thank you 💕💕💕💕
This is good solid advice, which really bears repeating.
Thanks for doing so.
Thank you so much!
You girls are awesome.

Great post
Great advice! Ty!!
Great advice
Great video girls! These tips are very helpful and I plan to try and do my best! Thanks for the motivation and encouragement! XO💗
great video & advice
What is the dish that you said your aunt made? Can you make a keto version (that you could share with us too obviously)?
She made spanakopita which is filo dough with spinach and feta (I loved her dearly but this was the only thing she made that was really good! Lol) we haven’t tried to make it keto but I bet it’s possible! :)
Thank you- great reminder of finding a mindset.
You could drink water but that’s no fun lol, fidget spinner? Gum perhaps?
Make a “popcorn” bowl of diced celery, half a small carrot diced, jicama, and raw cauliflower. Season with Everything But The Bagel seasoning and nibble away. Sometimes just a few celery slices will kill the desire for something crunchy and salty. No one ever got fat on celery. 😊
@@pinehillart Great idea!!
Love your videos! This one spoke to me especially. It is so hard to give up carbs. I've been trying and trying. My craving is so great. How does one get into the right mindset? I know what I should and should not do, and I still give in. I get so disappointed with myself. Always trying. 👍
Just keep trying! We’ve been off and on so many times, finally it stuck!
I could not curb cravings until I started carnivore and gave up artificial sweeteners and really eat a lot of fat. Keep tweaking it until it works. Good luck
Great tips and tricks! 👏
Thanks for wise advice! You are great.
Thank you for these tips! 😊
Love your channels. I have a silly question….where did you get the orange sweater?😊
Hi Cathy by vicicollection. com and it’s called the ADAMANT sweater :)
@@technicallyketo Thank you so much! You girls do a wonderful job and very inspiring!
Great advice ladies :)
A can or two of Sardines helps control appetite
yes!! it's never one meal...it becomes a run away train.
I stay keto. It's easy for me. What I dont understand...its one day for Thanksgiving and one day for Christmas. Its just excuses to eat the SAD diet for month's.
What’s easy for you is difficult for many others :)
So true! Thank you for always keeping it real and for these amazing tips to stay true to the Keto WOL!
Unfortunately there are parties, office potlucks and other holiday gatherings to navigate. One holiday meal is easy - 10 are not.
I don't do it often but I will eat a little cornbread, dressing( here in the South we eat cornbread and biscuit dressing). It hasn't thrown me yet.
Right! Wow! Everything my Grandmother and Mother taught me was wrong. Clean plate club. Eat your crust. Poor things, they didn't know. They didn't have the info that we have now. I wish I had of know everything I know now so many years ago. It's so hard to change MY mind set from my loving mom and grandmother, who only wanted me to be healthy. They were taught margerine, safflower oil was good, 6 meals a day. Everything wrong!!! WHY??? They both as well as my other grandmother, my husband's mom... all died of cancer! Hmmmm. ?? I have to change. I started IF/Keto hard in April. My life has changed. If only we had that information years years years ago. My mom would still be here with my dad who misses her so much. Funny the bad took the females. My grandfather's died of old age and loneliness. My Dad is so healthy and misses my mom to the point of , well I can't explain. If only she were here now. 😪 I am new to this and I have lost 44lbs just this year. I AM SCARED TO DEATH OF THE HOLIDAY THAT ARE COMING!!!! I love food! ❤️ I am going to take it day by day. I made it all summer. I can make it through the holidays. I have to! Watching you and having all the new info I have learned now, everyday!!! I will make it through!! THANK YOU!
You can do it Tammy!!
