    I commend you on the parts you used, wire nuts, pigtails, ground screws, and the crimp terminals you showed. You also properly mounted the outlets on the raised cover. Your explanation of the parts and the tools you used was awesome. But I have to ask a few questions. Aren't you worried about using this in a wet environment? The 15A receptacles on a 30A breaker? Is there GFCI protection on your generator? These contraptions are basically death traps, although yours was the best built I've seen on TH-cam. As for safety these are a OSHA violation on any jobsite not to mention NEC issues. My recommendation would be a portable GFCI device and a splitter, all within side your vehicle out of any wet environment. All being said be safe.

    Something folks don't usually look for is that the orientation of the wires at one end of the cable comes out different when looking at the other end. At one end the black and white will be positioned to easily attach to a plug. At the other end you would have to cross the white and black during assembly which makes it hard to get the wires into some plugs. In short, examine your cable and attach the easy end to the plug.

    thanks just built mine, works perfect! a couple parts were different for example instead of a silver and gold screw, i had silver and black screws. also for the outlets i used spade terminals instead of pushing the wire trough the outlet part

    Very interesting, but aren't you plugging that twistlock male plug you made into a 240 volt generator outlet to feed the 120 volt quad box? Won't that 240 volts destroy any 120 volt appliances you plug into the quadbox?

    • @RaldasDetails
      @RaldasDetails  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This one is a 120 volts to do a 240v you need to split the 2 hot lines one for each receptacle and share the neutral in order to have 2 120
      Receptacles different ckt. If you have any more questions let me know thanks for waiting!!

    Awesome vid man.
    What kind of amperage are you getting per socket?
    I have a 25 amp generator. I am guessing the amperage is divided between the equipment i plug in as needed however, if i have only one thing plugged needing 20 amps, this setup will deliver the needed amps, correct?

    • @RaldasDetails
      @RaldasDetails  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LeJeune Detailing you are right !! Is all depends on the equipment, if you use your vacuum for example will pull 8 to 10 amps and if you add the compressor will pull an other 12 to 14 amps = 20 or 22 amps of the 25 amps that you have so if you add an other tool will trip. Thanks bro for watching and subscribe!!

    Ralda, It is an OSHA violation to make an extension cord and use it in a business unless you had it tested and listed by an approved testing agency, like UL. If there is a problem, and someone gets hurt, they will probably blame you.
    Also, if you were trying to follow NEC rules, the metal box is illegal, the over current ahead of the 20 amp receptacles in the generator being 23 amps is illegal. If you would like to see the OSHA rule that says what you made for a business is illegal, just comment and I will get you the link.

      Well yes this video was mainly to let people know that they can use on their setups. The way I build the now is with GFCI receptacles and bell box and waterproof cover!
