The pilot's ability to remember 8-10 things in short term memory and hold it there for extended period of time after only hearing it once is amazing. I think that after a while, all these instructions, just become one single piece of file in your brain and you just.. kinda feel it. Like switching gears in a car. You just.. kinda do it
I would love to fly with you, you're not only a great pilot, but your passion for aviation and knowledge of making these clips is a valuable resource to the Aviation community. Thanks!
Just discovered you Steve. I got my pilot's license back in 1995 but haven't flown in many years. I'm really enjoying your videos as it brings back fond memories. Keep em coming!
Its great to watch all your adventuress journeys. It may be a "just another day at the office", but for a relatively low hour pilot such as myself, your vids inspire me to want a peace of that "pilot life" too.
This video just popped up when I started TH-cam today. Nicely done flight Steve. I'm retired now but I used to enjoy the short ones, 11 minutes from rotation at Luton to landing at London Heathrow on a 757, fun times. Fly safe and enjoy.
Ahh the memories. Worked on the line at FXE back in 1972-3 when there were only 2 FBO's, Skytel and Bradley. Both long gone I'm sure. Thanks for the ride albeit a short one.
This Caravan is my favorite aircraft of all time! easy to work on as aircraft engineer, a joy to fly as pilot and brings a smile to owners as this is cheap maintain/operate & sparks the soul. Brought great memories! Thank you for sharing!!! 😊🖖
For those who are interested, the accident at Ft Lauderdale Exec was a Cessna 340. It happened on March the 2nd, which gives you some indication of how long it takes Steveo to get these videos up. Apparently, the Cessna had a problem with one of the main landing gear, which didn't deploy correctly, and collapsed on landing. There was only the pilot on board, and he was not injured. It took most of the day to remove the aircraft from the runway, which is why there weren't any arrivals. The aircraft was damaged, obviously, but no fire reported.
Short flight but very cool. I used to go to the drive in movie theater at the end of the runway, years ago. I didn't know about the new runway. Lived in So Fla from 1968 to 1989. Thanks :)
I absolutely love your videos seveo1kineveo! I'm 16 years old and live in South Africa. I'm going to start with my training within a months time and I think it's you that motivated me to make that big step.
@@mattball7074 Thanks for asking! As I am writing this comment, I am preparing for the Meteorology exam for my CPL. I have also been introduced to another side of aviation, I received a cadetship to get AFIS training at Port Alfred in South Africa which I am loving. I have build quite a lot of experience the last three years and I am glad to say that Steveo1Kineveo is still a great idol for me. Regards, Christiaan.
I really enjoy your way of showing what has to be done before and after a flight. Also you are a very interesting person to watch as you go though what you do after you get where your going. Different cities and airports along with its people.
Looks like a King Air landed with the gear up...allegedly! I was needing a video fix so I started watching your old ones over again and I saw one where you said you wouldn't use an iPad...LOL! I said that too. When I first started using it I was skeptical too but it is so nice not to get that yellow envelope in the mail meaning I'd be sitting in front of my binders (in my case) updating approaches. Thanks for posting Tim
Congratulations! It will be fun and frustrating. Don't get discouraged when you can't nail the landing. I takes a ton of practice to do that right. I almost quit over that back in the day.
You'll find the decision to learn to fly one of the best you've ever made. It's like everything else - you'll have good days and bad days but you always remember your first solo.
Just purchased a TBM 850....Ahhh FSX Steam version. Wonderful airplane. It is a pleasure to fly. Landing takes some practice. Very powerful airplane. Race car in the sky.
Amen. The Caravan looks like so much fun down low and slow. All you need is to stay just ahead of the prop a mile or two. Never get behind your airplane. How far do you need to stay ahead of the TBM 850? I'm thinking next Thursday.
This is where its at. Flying planes. Im amazed at the technology of the new planes. Have to be meticulous when operating this sort of a machine. Thumbs up.
Nice crosswind landing right on the stripes. Just got my private, can't wait to get back up there once the all the rain leaves the northwest, we've had something like 3 VFR days in Seattle in the last 6 weeks!
Those airports are so close together, it looks like you could have ridden your skateboard down from Executive to get the Grand Caravan........ And speaking of the Grand Caravan, I remember seeing the the 'original' Caravans in my youth (mid 60's) at my local airport (Santa Monica) and thinking with the single engine it's a wonder it can actually get off the ground, And now you are flying a MUCH larger GC that holds what - 10 people, PLUS all their luggage? Amazing........
Was a CNC machinist for Cessna 94-96. Love the Caravan. Did a bunch of front landing gear operations for her. If I wasn’t scared of puking and had a few million bucks this would be the one I’d like to fly.
Course controlled by a good trafic controller. Will never forget Discoverys bolts and nuts of a carrier. Thank you veru much seat tight and somehow avoid the gas pouches by an electronic nose. Have a great flight
Fabulous! A lovely little trip, and what a wonderful little aircraft 👍 ‘Caravan’ has a whole different meaning on this side of the pond, London England, it looks an easy and very pleasant aircraft to fly - just wish I had found flying when I were younger!
I was fly training at Fort Lauderdale Executive this day (KFXE) and had to divert to Pompano Beach (KPMP) and wait till they cleaned the runway up. Was a pretty fun flight. I'll have the audio out soon. You parked right next to where I park next to Hotel - Steveo thanks for this video!
Another good one Steveo ! - Nice little short hop in the Caravan was fun. Love the TBM, but you make them both really interesting. Thanks for the ride !
This was a very nice flight Captain. A hug from Brazil. Your channel is amazing. I work with a BEECH-58 here in South América and I'm learning English yet.
Steve, your videos are awesome. So well done, and its like flying alongside a competent pilot so I can sit back , enjoy, and take pictures out the window. I learnt to fly some 25 years ago for a few years and it was a great experience. I'm happy now to let you do it. Thanks!
Oh how funny. That electronic voice sounds like one of the settings of JAWS Screen Reading Assistive Technology for theBlind. Actually, it used to be for that and for the DeckTalk Speech for Kirzweil Reading Machine. The name of the voice was Huge Harry. I love it!
Really enjoyed this short ride-along, Steve. I always look forward to rides in the Clarabell. The right seat perspective was nice because I could watch the backup steam gauges the whole way.
just found these videos. love them. fly the caravan on my flight simulator X. been flying flight simulator since commodore 64 days. long time. keep these videos coming. thanks
I like the C208, it´s how I found your channel. I am a sim flyer, X-Plane, and fly the C208 a lot, and when I´m not flying it, I fly the Cessna 185. I am a bit of a Cessna nut.
Great videos. I tuned in maybe two weeks ago and I think I've seen a few dozen of them now. At one point in my life I considered going into a flying career, but back in the late 1970s when I was a teenager the vision standard was just about 20/20 uncorrected for any hope of getting a commercial job, never mind that I think the FAA allowed corrective lenses to a point. Nowadays I could still easily pass the vision test for a non-commercial certificate and after watching these videos I'm seriously considering it.
Like the Caravan a lot. Goes places we all love as Jamie mentioned :-) Also it's more senic for the viewer. Large windows make for great views outside. Wonder why you did not post Watermaker video's. Bussy flying the TBM or no need for you to fly the Caravan outside the holiday season? TBM is (much) faster, flies (much) higher, guess more comfort and bigger range so takes you places in style in one go. Videos are sometimes a bit "dark". Not in a bad way but compared to the Caravan. Then again. Love to watch your videos. They are informative and entertaining so fun to watch.
The workspace in the Caravan is very large compared to the TBM. Filming with the Caravan is a lot harder to do as the flight has to be completely empty and that doesn't happen very often. The TBM is a whole different job and I can film any flight in the TBM.
steveo1kinevo Do you fly the Caravan often enough to maintain your currency? I find jumping from the Garmin 7 series units to the G1000 takes me 10-15 minutes to remember where everything is. Don't even want to think about a G3000.
Yeah, I was looking at the size. Camera was pretty far away, and I love all the room in the cockpit. I especially liked where you put the iPad. I've never flown a Caravan, but I'm told they fly just like an overgrown Skylane..

Nonsense. It’s a standard repetitive format.

Love it! I wish you did more videos on the Caravan. The ones around the Caribbean are what got me hooked on your channel in the first place :).
Definitely

I love the Caravan. I've always wanted to fly in one. Awesome video Steve!

I love the caravan too. It's epic
Me too
Might get in my first today!
I’ve copiloted one of these a couple times at the local
Skydive and they do love to fly. Gets up quick and comes down quick a fun bird to fly for sure

What a contagious energy this man has, cheered me right up!
I took up flying after being inspired by Stevo, I'm happy to say that last week I had my first solo!
That's amazing! I know I'm 3 years late but howd it go? You get your license?
Shadow I did 😁
That’s cool it’s been a long time since that so how are you doing now
Mo Lester pretty good. Haven’t been flying since the start of the covid crisis, but keen to go back.
That’s nice to hear

Definitely want to fly one of these eventually
Its nice to see the Caravan fly from time to time especially when you are in the Exuma Islands..... The TBM is my favorite to see.
This Caravan is my favorite aircraft of all time! easy to work on as aircraft engineer, a joy to fly as pilot and brings a smile to owners as this is cheap maintain/operate & sparks the soul. Brought great memories! Thank you for sharing!!! 😊🖖
5:40 wow that highway running UNDER the airport is amazing!

Thanks for the information. I was researching the index on the ntsb page but I had no idea what day I was looking for.
Rick Shelton.
Gary do you fly at FXE?
No Alex, I'm a private pilot, not a commercial pilot, and due to financial constraints, I'm not longer flying.

Love the Caravan. All I need are the right six numbers, and one will be mine!
Lovely to see Ft Lauderdale Exec again. I did my first flight training there with American flyers, way back in 1993.
Love the TBM but nice to see you in the Caravan again, keep the videos coming, thanks Steveo.

Excellent audio quality. No engine noise and no wind noise. It sounds like you're sitting on the ground.

I like watching both planes being flown, but the most impressive one is the TBM. That thing is sweet
Not a pilot, but love & fly in a Grand Caravan Blackhawk 25 to 30 flights on the weekends, I am a tandem skydiving instructor. Love the videos Steve!
My first flight is on Monday! I'm so excited
Nice. It's super addicting!
Congratulations! It will be fun and frustrating. Don't get discouraged when you can't nail the landing. I takes a ton of practice to do that right. I almost quit over that back in the day.

We have 3 caravans where I work as well asa bunch of king airs 200's 250's and a 350 and 6 twin otters. Love the video...very professional.
Awesome being respectful to ground and ATC. Thats awesome.
caravan. for sure. especially the Bahamas videos. my favorite!
I love the sound of the Caravan starting up. Any turbo prop running is one of the best sounds in aviation
Hey I love your videos. I like the TBM 930 now that I have seen you flying it, it became my dream plane.
Thanks for taking us along in the Caravan Steveo! I prefer the TBM... but anything with wings is better than walking or driving!
The caravan is my favourite airplane! So much so, i am building a cockpit of one for the simulator!!
Just purchased a TBM 850....Ahhh FSX Steam version. Wonderful airplane. It is a pleasure to fly. Landing takes some practice. Very powerful airplane. Race car in the sky.
