    I tried scuba for first time there in 1991. Now I’m a Dive Master. Always be a special place for me.

    I totally agree.
    My family loves to visit that area of Florida. The Jetties at St
    Andrews are the best place to snorkel

    I spent years visiting PCB and never visited the jetties.. but once I was introduced it ended up being a daily trip while on vacation.
    Each day is a totally different adventure

    Destin has a great snorkeling spot also. It's at the jetties as well. We live in the best area in the whole world , The Emerald Coast rocks.

    Very nice! This is one of your better videos, and that's saying something. Just showed this to my wife and she dove this site years ago before we were married. We met at a dive club meeting while I was doing a slide show of my underwater photos. Your videos always make me want to get back underwater. Thanks.

    Love it! My sister just moved here and she was asking me about snorkeling so of course, I told her “you got to check out my buddy Tony’s channel!” Going to show her all your Destin jetty vids! Thanks Tony, catch up to you soon. Be careful with these storms!

    We love St. Andrews! It's a great place to snorkel and to walk the beach. In your description you answered some of my questions. I get a little nervous on the channel side with all the boats and current. I did some snorkeling on the channel side of the jetty across at Shell Island. It was very productive in sea life. Have you been over to Gator Lake? I would probably leave the snorkel in the car. They do exist! 🐊great video!

    You’re swimming with a barracuda and I saw one briefly and swam the other way fast, maybe I didn’t have anything to worry about!

    • @thetoneman

      I'll venture close, but try not to push it. If the barracuda stands it ground I don't venture any further. It is exciting to see one isn't? 😁👍

    When does the water ever look like this ?? I have only lived here for 4 months and dive almost every single day and I have yet to see the water look like this

    • @thetoneman
      @thetoneman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The last few months there has been alot of rain. With a good stretch of good weather and high tide you will see it. 😁👍

    Is one side better than the other?

    • @thetoneman
      @thetoneman  ปีที่แล้ว

      If your referring to the bay side (kiddie pool) or Gulf side... they are both great. The bay side (kiddie pool) does have shallower water for a longer stretch than the Gulf side but both are teeming with sea life. 😁

    • @memphise34a
      @memphise34a ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thetoneman No, I mean the east or west side of the pass and then on which side of jetties on that respective side.

    Is this free? How do you get to the beach at the jetties to go snorkeling? We are coming next week and my daughter wants to go snorkeling so bad!

    • @thetoneman
      @thetoneman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      St Andrews State Park charges $8 per day/per car load. There is a Google Maps link in the description, but when you enter the park just follow the signs to the jetty/jetty store. Your daughter will love it. Have fun! 😁👍

    How far out did you have to go

    • @thetoneman
      @thetoneman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not far at all... the jetties at St. Andrews State Park are very close to shore and the water is shallow in most areas. 😁👍

  • @btellez74
    @btellez74 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello...what time of day do you usually go for the best visability?

    • @thetoneman
      @thetoneman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best time is two hours prior to high tide. You can check Panama City Beach tides here ➡️ tides4fishing.com/us/florida-west-coast/panama-city-beach-outside

    • @btellez74
      @btellez74 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thetoneman I'm planning on going to PCB on June 7th of this year. The chart says High Tide will be at 7:02am on that day. That would mean the best snorkeling visibility would be at 5:02 am (if the best visibility is two hours before High Tide). Is that what you're saying? I'm a bit confused.

    • @thetoneman
      @thetoneman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@btellez74 yes, that's exactly right. The problem is that St.Andrews State Park doesn't open until 8AM. Sometimes the tides are not in our favor. You can still snorkel just may not be as clear... you can also try the jetty portion on the Gulf side as it stays clearer longer as the tide goes out.

      Spearfishing is not allowed at St. Andrews State Park.
