I'm undecided whether to buy from a dealer, then get Cleevely EV to do the checks and then get Tesla to do the repairs (hopefully under warranty) or do what you've done. Great video thanks for sharing…. Although I must confess I’m disappointed with your Tesla experience…. Poor show for Tesla and the car I would have rejected the scuffs , misted tail lights etc … and rust on a 4 year old car is unacceptable! You have paid a premium to buy from Tesla approved car and it’s far from it ! Overall though very good video and I hope your Tesla ownership is good for you and your channel 😊
I’ve now owned my used model 3 for over a year now of which I am very pleased. My purchase was with Hartwell of which I would highly recommend as their service was second to none. I will add though, i also experienced an unsavoury experience with Tesla approved used of which I swiftly cancelled my order and can honestly say I never want to deal with Tesla in that way ever again unfortunately.
Hi thinking about getting a used Tesla but still not sure it be my company car as I now get an allowance. The one thing I have seen is my insurance would be £2000 for the year so on the fence at moment … looking forward to more video mate on how you get on with car 👍🏻
Been browsing Tesla approved used website for a few weeks now looking for Blue/Red in my price range. This video was great to give me heads up on the next step once I've found the right one. Where did you collect it from and how close to the original finance quote (representative example) was the final monthly price you got?
I know, the cars not even 5 years old yet. The bit on the lip is fair enough, the paint had obviously been chipped and the metal left to rust. But on the other areas of the boot.. not great! I just hope it’s all corrected properly! Insurance on my Leaf was about £500 and went up £220, so £720 total. However, I’ve got a multi car policy so I’ve got a discount in there. I believe it’s pretty common for these to be around £1,000 to insure!
@@CobyEV Thanks for the info. I had some chips in the past on newish cars and they never rusted like that. Might be worth getting it looked at underneath for any rust. I am thinking when I have my next car to get it sprayed underneath with a rust inhibitor as with all the rain and floods we are getting corrosion underneath will be the most likely problem with newer cars. Not doing many miles there is no efficiency saving for me and my insurance is currently around £250 on my hybrid which although coming up to 12 years old still runs and looks great so just no sensible reason to swap. Don't get me wrong I am all for EV's and believe them to be the future. Oh and currently zero car tax. It annoys me when I see the incentives given to company drivers yet nothing for the ordinary purchaser. I had been thinking of a PHEV but most are over £40,000 list price which with the new extra £400 a year tax makes them unviable even second hand. I really think their is a problem with the price of electricity from public charging. For myself it certainly is a real negative point.
@@daviddawson9099 That’s a good point about the underneath. It would be interesting to see how they compare to more established brands as most cars are 10 years old before any major corrosion sets in. Totally understand your decision with your hybrid. I’d always say to people if an EV doesn’t make sense yet or seems a step too far, Hybrids are a great stepping stone.
You got that from TESLA directly ? , they need to fix those few bits under warranty boot lid , parking sensor , door check strap (very common) , & wheel trim .
Probably the top of the class in terms of efficiency range and technology, had it been done as hatch and estate versions I think it would be far more popular, not sure the everything do through the screen is my cup of tea nor the styling. How are you finding the long distance capability? The insurance cost seems a bit OTT though I appreciate a significant shunt might write it off but the safety features built in should mitigate that. Sounds like Tesla pre sale prep could do with a serious rework, I would reject it for the rust that's unacceptable given the age are they not galvanised and waxed internally?
That’s a shocking 😮😮 a Tesla dealership delivering a car in that condition?! I’m glad I bought mine outside Tesla, the car was mint. Anyway I’m sure you gonna love the car, model 3 is great and usually they don’t break.
Yeah, I think they’re just ruthless about getting cars out of the door quickly. I dropped it back off with them yesterday to get a number of issues resolved, video coming on that very soon! 😊

I went from a 2018 Nissan leaf 40 Tekna to a 2020 M3LR , l miss the heated steering wheel, general build quality, but I mostly miss the 360 cam view and of course heat pump . Still very happy with the Tesla though .
@ Bose was pretty good in the leaf, it had the subwoofer in the boot and I think extra speakers so I was a good sound . But the sound system in the long range model 3 is far far better though . The thing with the Tesla is I look forward to driving it every day , not so much with the leaf 😀.
If you cant afford to buy a car cash ( always advisable when buying a depreciating asset ) but if you must get finance , it's always best to get your own finance from your bank or another lender These will always beat the rates offered by car showrooms/ car finance companys
How much more would a later long range dual motor with a heat pump have cost? This is the model I'm interested in buying next to replace my diesel second car alongside my current Hyundai Kona 64KWh, which has been fantastic.
Depends on the mileage! One that has done more than 50,000 miles will out of regular Tesla warranty even if under 4 years old (but battery is still covered for 8 years or until 100,000 miles)
The cheapest facelift LR Dual Motor on Tesla UK is £22,200 with just under 55,000 miles as I write this now. Just under £3,500 more than what I paid for mine.
Got a mode 3 performance 2020 and range on it it's about 180 miles on this cold weather (north Yorkshire) i find it to be to low honestly, mid autumn got about 220 range, car is on 45k miles. How's the range on model y,as it has heatpump shoud be better wouldn't it?

I bought my Tesla M3P in Jan 2024 and although I love the car, it has had to have nearly 6 grands worth of warranty work, including respraying the boot where the paint has started to chip away like yours, trunk misalignment. I have also had the door check straps replaced as you have, as well as all of my suspension changes, new carbon fiber spoiler, resprayed wheel arches where stone chips had rusted (didn't have mudflaps on) and now I'm waiting to take it back in for the front active grille to be replaced as it's sounding like a tractor. I still like the car but the magic has worn off now, and it's probably the most unreliable car I've owned. Been thinking of switching to a Polestar 2 to be honest. While it still has warranty give Cleevely EV a call and get them to do a full end of warranty inspection, they come to your house all over the UK and just their trip alone meant Tesla sorted out 2.5k worth of repair.
