Biggest improvement I found with Lies of P is the camera system even when dealing with big bosses. Every boss was fair besides Manis phase 2 stacking multiple AOE and delayed projectiles while he was spinning around. You could see everything and you knew why you died instead of fighting with the camera and off screen attacks.
I really enjoyed the Perfect guard system and my favourite weapon was the Twin dragons sword (Charge R2 parry felt OP when I learned to use it). There was a real incentive to engage with enemies instead of just kiting them in midrange and baiting specific attacks.

finally someone who appreciates the differences of this game instead of crying that its just a souls rifoff, this game is sekiro, bloodborne and souls wrapped into one. its a masterpiece IMO. Side note though, sad to see you cheesing with the Aegis when the parry system is so so satisfying

I agree that this game is a masterpiece. It's kind of unbelievable for a dev's first attempt at a souls-like game to succeed so well. Also, I didn't use the shield until I got to nameless puppet on my first run, but found it to be invaluable in NG+ given how much more damage you receive in NG+ and NG++

my biggest issue here is that level progression is still isolated i wish we could improve all the weapons at once so that way we could experiment with builds more freely like you can respec characters. otherwise souls likes pidgeon hole you into one weapon of a type because you've spent the rare resources improving it.

You can upgrade all weapons to at least +9 and like half a dozen to +10 per NG, so there's plenty to experiment with IMO. Make sure you find all the upgrade boxes for Polendina and you can buy all the weapon upgrade mats you need

aegis L1 spam perfect parry looks more like a bug, I believe it will be patched out eventually

It might be, which is why I wanted to give it a bit of a PSA in case anyone is really struggling and looking for solutions, though I do hope they don't patch it as it's a fairly unique balancing feature (even if it was unintentional)
