I messed around with beer brewing. Yes, that is accurate. Commercially, beer is usually force carbonated, like Soda. But if you don’t have the gear for that, like most hobbyists, then you add a tiny bit of fresh sugar to the beer before you bottle it. The left over yeast ferments in the bottle and makes CO2, and the extra pressure forces the CO2 to absorb into the liquid. But if you miscalculate, the pressure will pop the bottles. Yes, since it’s under pressure, they will pop like that. Brewers call them “beer bombs”.
The gear is much more accessible these days. Even a SodaStream will work.
Tuco was many things but he was also a very successful drug dealer, because people were scared of him. You cannot show weakness or else other dealers/users will take advantage. Tuco is the way he is because he has been in that world a long time and that is how you need to be to survive.
Exactly. While Walt isn't Tuco. Someone has to or had to do it. Word would spread saying two junkies jumped them easily. Only three dealers. It's small and they have the best product.
Walt is such a villain. I love that they make you care for him
"hes so annoying" lmao
Brian cranston gives such sad dad energy too powerful
Hank experiencing PTSD is something I found refreshing. Unlike most shows and movies, the "hero" doesn't kill a man, as justified as it was, and just go on as if nothing happened. Hank may be a ass at times, but he's not a sociopath.
grumpy sees a grandpa having an episode of ptsd on a street
grumpy: (smiles) well thats refreshing!
hank is not feeling guilty of killing a person
hank got the scares
he finally felt he could ve died
@@God-ec8ni Your comment is dumb lol
@@God-ec8ni What a strange response. I never saw the comment refer to Hank as feeling guilty either. Just that it impacted him.
@@brownsey1 impacted him how?
@@God-ec8ni How would you think?
I think you glossed over a very interesting point in this episode. Walt really amps up the 'I want my money because I need to provide for my family' but he treats his family like shit. He makes his wife feel bad, doesn't know where his son is, etc. It's increasingly clear that his family is just a cover for his behaviour, the angle that got him into the meth production business but not actually his motivation.
🤣 The "Panini Connoisseur and Teapot" titles killed me
When the series began Hank was just meant to be the bully brother in law to Walt, but Vince Gillian saw the depth that Dean Norris brought to the character and explored this whole other side of Hank. Probably my favorite good guy character in any series
„Good guy“ 😂
The hair, costume, and makeup of the junkies were so convincing I remember trying to find the actors on IMDB since you could honestly convince me they were street actors
Oh shit. I figured they were street actors, too.
I think part of Hank throwing away Tuco’s teeth was him moving away from who he thought he was. He thought he was some badass, like his job was all a tv show, (not unlike Walt), but when life got real, he’s realized he wasn’t that fictional guy in his head. Whereas Walt.. well that’s another story
I don't think you would say Walt thought he was in a TV show. Because he wasn't he wasn't pretending. Hank told stories and he was always playing it off like a badass when Walt was just trying to make money for family he should've instead focused on more. I guess you could say Walt thought he was writing a novel but definitely not a TV show.
23:54
"he thinks he's in a movie"
well you're not wrong 😂
I feel like the exploding bottles is kind of a metaphor for Hank's emotional state. Also: Walt is actually right about the "non sustainable business model" point. The drug business is not K-Mart. You have to be feared, or else you'll keep getting ripped off.
The way Jesse says, “Walt” with all the venom in his voice, god damn.
Hank is my favourite character in Breaking Bad. He's the average guy, projecting toughness, making edgy jokes with friends but has a good heart and would do anything for his friends, family and colleagues. Love Hank.
I don't think Walt is being petty or doing anything wrong to be concerned about his pregnant wife smoking. He's one of the parents of the child too.
@@louisenglish8069 Because it was petty. He didn't confront Skylar when he found out about it. If he was legitimately concerned, he would have. Instead, he kept it as ammunition to use against her when she, correctly, criticizes him.
well thats not becuse hes petty, but becuse he dont act of emotions, hes just rational, hes not impulsive like Skylar is,if thats being petty, damm im oetty then too
if it was dont by a woman noone would bat an eye@@0451K
@@0451K I dont think Walt kept it as "Ammunition". It's just that Walt's getting a bit of confidence and poking around to see his limits. That and him losing power at home and with Jesse, is making him more mean and like an ahole.
The problem was the way that he did. He wait a moment to throw in her face. Like you do something wrong your partner see but wait one moment “right” to throw this on your face. Instead talk immediately and ask for a explanation
Water in a toilet tank is the same water that you drink from any faucet in the house. It's incoming water.
So you'd drink out of a toilet tank? The water's fine... Until it gets in that gross tank.
The tank is not the bowl.@@godmagnus
@@godmagnus you have a hard time understanding the english language huh?
He put too much sugar in the beer. The fermentation process turns sugar into CO2 and alcohol and will keep going until all the sugar is gone. The speed of the reaction is proportional to the amount of sugar remaining, but it can also be controlled by lower temperatures. This is why kombucha in the stores is always refrigerated. It was stopped at the beginning of the fermentation process, before enough alcohol is produced to consider it an alcoholic beverage. If you leave it at room temperature long enough, the bottle will pop.
Walt isn't being unreasonable guys. In this world, you can't let people think you let things slide because people WILL take a mile if you give an inch. Streets is watching to see how you react to 'disrespect'. Anyone who went to public school should know this... much more drug dealers
How do you girls always predict everything in the show? it's insane. i've never seen anyone predict the Schraderbrau beer moment.
Arianna legit saw the twist in fight club coming. From like a mile away
I’m Autistic af with a psych degree. A bitch loves a pattern. Once you can pinpoint a plot and have info. EASY.
I always found it fascinating how fans intensely disliked Skyler but allowed Walt to just absolutely act like a lunatic and stood by him. Apparently having cancer is a reason to treat people terribly.
@@zagat2 I know the actress had death threats. She really did a good job at acting as her role. But damn Skyler was just so..........😡😡🤢🤮😱. Even after her pregnancy. I wonder will they still understand her behaviour being a spiteful cheat. Doing something for the person she cheated with. If she has an issue she doesn't tell you. If she doesn't trust Walt then tell him why play cat and mouse. She's the kind of person that would have something with you but don't say what it is just for you to be completely dumbfounded. I understand Walt somewhat I am very interested in his transformation. Every big point in the show made him drown deeper and deeper
@@southeastasiandude I mean, how much is it to ask for him to be honest with her? She has asked that of him, up front, no equivocation, multiple times. Is that not "telling Walt she doesn't trust him" enough for you? He's clearly going around and doing shit behind her back. Walt knows "what it is" that she has a problem with. He's the one not talking.
Speaking as a combat vet who has done the deed, it’s a lot of weight to carry, taking another persons life and it does change you. I think this show does a phenomenal job showing that ptsd effect, especially with hank. You’ll never be able to look in the mirror the same way again. It’s a feeling I hope nobody else has to know.
"Normal Red Bull tastes like Jager to me now"
Same. Also, I get the same effect with Amy lemon or lime seltzer water. Both those flavors taste like straight up vodka to me now 😮💨
Badger is totally the guy that would be wanting to work the grill. I totally see that!
Walt is trying to embrace the kingpin role, even though he has not earned it. Drug bosses use fear and respect to run their crew. Fear can be obtained faster, and that's the route he is trying, even though Jesse has little of both for him at the moment lol. You have to "earn" fear almost as much as you do respect.
Walt heard that speech from Hank about smashing cockroaches and turned that attitude about drug criminals onto Jesse.
I live in Abq. Five years ago, our Costcos sold Shraderbrau in those bottles with that label. I have it on my mantel. The beer was average.
Honestly, for something that is just a branding gimmick to cash-in on the show, the fact that it was average is better than I would've expected.
“Hope is the best medicine” true, except for, you know, medicine.
Hope + medicine are, combined, the best medicine.
Every reaction is different; this is the best reaction to this particular episode I can think of, that was hilarious. Arianna on the lean cuisine, and Maple on the beer bottles. And everything else. Pound for pound, beat for beat, best reaction to "Breakage"!
I believe Hank has that panic attack and gets so scared about the beer popping because he has some PTSD not only because he's scared of the cartel coming after him. It's like with veterans who have flash backs and their PTSD Flares up badly during fireworks and such. At least that's how I have always taken it. Also, could be a mixture of both. 😊
I was a bartender/server for a little over a decade and I absolutely LOVE your comments on the service industry. “We all know a badger” haha
Badger is awesome, where is the hate coming from hahahah
I feel like the emotional investment in the characters (e.g. in Jesse and Skyler) is clouding your judgement. Walter acted rationally when he questioned Jesse about why they should accept "breakage", since it directly affects their business prospects; and why make the point that Walt should take care of it himself when Jessy made the division of labor perfectly clear? And Walter "doesn't do shit"? Walter "is not handling dick"? People have no reason to respect him? Except, of course, for the fact that Walter makes the best crystal meth in the country, which is the department he's supposed to be handling. There are many reasons to respect Walt. There are very few reasons to respect Jesse.
He also acted rationally when he confronted Skyler. Apparently, holding women accountable for their bad behavior is "petty" and "being a little bitch". And the rationalizing of Skylers behavior is almost funny (the stress she's experiencing is worse than the three cigarettes): he didn't know if she smoked the whole package or not, or if she smoked more than one package. Also, stress is more or less unavoidable in life, choosing to smoke is not. Against conventional wisdom, a child is not women's property to do with what they want; their decisions also affects both the baby and the father. I've also noticed how the emotional reaction to Walt in one scene often bleeds into and colors the emotional reaction to Walt in another scene, even though he might have been wrong in the previous scene but right in the next.
Krysten does not play the same character in everything... See also Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls.

They should watch those web minisodes they made between S1 and S2. The one with Hank is pretty funny and you get to actually see Marie doing a bit of her therapy. And also another 5 minutes of Badger to hate on XD

Ngl the fugue state comeback from Skyler was hard. Thst was a shank and a twist
I remember as a kid toilets would overflow all the time when clogged. I was actually thinking about it the other day when one of ours were clogged how it never actually overflows. I think it has something to do with the S shape in the back of the toilet that everything flows through, somehow prevents a complete and total clog? Or just when the water fills up it stops putting more water into the tank that just empties down into the bowl. I definitely think something has changed between toilets from pre-90s to post-90s.
Toilets use way less water per flush now, than they used to. So there's not as much water building up in the toilets, so the bowl + trap are enough to hold the water of one flush. But older toilets, that are using much larger amounts of water to flush, can overflow over the rim if they are completely clogged.
How is Walt NOT a Technical VP??
24:00 yea and Jessie is at liberty to say so, he's an adult. but what did "now that no one's taking orders from you" mean? because it seemed to me like this was the first time Walt's ever actually ordered anyone and it seems like Jessie followed it for whatever reason.
I hate to say it, but Jessie should have just eaten the $1K loss on Skinny Pete.
Just hand Walt his $16K so he's 'whole' and skip all THAT drama, then handle making it up yourself, to yourself.
Walt does have a point on the division of labor, of this was the Mob they'd be saying "F you pay me" no matter what you say, made guys or not. You earn and kick upstairs no matter what it takes you to do it.
This early in the business I think its better to keep Walt in the loop so they can develop SOP's. Next time they probably won't send jesse to assassinate thieves.
i said that they were walt and jesse alone. i said it's best to keep walt in the loop so they(jesse and walt) can develop SOP's
I get that walter isnt the one doing all the work but if there is a system of people that is known to be vulnerable they are gonna be getting taken advantage of
The way y'all are feeling about Walt this episode, brace for that to intensify a LOT.
That's a common misconception before watching BB, Walter White is absolutely not a hero
I think it might’ve been a Boilermaker (whiskey in beer), not a Jagerbomb. I could be wrong
Walter dares to confront his pregnant wife smoking: "Walter is a petty bitch". No offense, but the double standards out of you guys are WILD.
He is petty and also a hypocrite. All the stress Skylar went through is caused by him, so he has no moral ground to be lecturing her about 3 cigarettes.
Walter's got a few months to a year left to live thanks to cancer, going through chemo even though he didn't want it in the beginning, has to break the law and deal with unsavory people to make money for his family but Skylars stress is understandable?😂 F the baby, three cigarettes won't hurt her right?!😂
@@beizman9472 or he could have just taken the free money Elliot offered him. But hey, I forgot yall are wannabe macho man from your mom's basement, so that's not an option.
@@beizman9472 "Has to break the law and deal with unsavory people," or, you know, he could've taken the job offer Elliot gave him?!?! This is literally all Walt's doing. Now he lies to her and does shit behind her back all day, she wonders where he is, whether her baby is gonna have a father, whether because of cancer or because of their relationship going toxic... You know enough stress can cause a miscarriage, right? Three cigarettes definitely won't do that.
@@Crazy_Diamond_75 Both characters are doing shitty things. Cooking and selling drugs pretty shitty. Smoking while pregnant equally pretty shitty thing to do. Why does Skylar get a pass at criticism?(for those two reviewing) when everything Walter is up to is to secure his family's future after he dies? The help being offered was only for the cancer treatment.(that guy also probably screwed Walter out of millions and the girl before Skylar)
That badger line cook comment would make a great tok 13:04

Oh my gosh man cancer treatment or just medical treatment is free in New Zealand.. this makes me very sad

Sorry but no amount of stress is a way to justify smoking during pregnancy. That's an insane take to have

So is this gonna be like a running gag that we shit on Badger for every episode he’s in 😂
I've guys react to this in the past and now is my for time watch girls react to this a i just think it's interesting how different they react to Walters differently and the show in general. most guy's had the same reaction and commentary to the show and characters as i did but i guess have a very different outlook to it.
We all know a badger
Out of the jesse friends skinny pete is my favorite, just seems real, badger fake, combo is clean to close to Eminem for me but if i had to go somewhere presentable he would be the one i go with. Pete is the hang. Badger is the desperation friend
Those microwave panini's were actually pretty good. A toilet bowl is designed not to overflow with the first flush. I once left a small amount of kombucha in glass bottle in the back of my car for a couple of weeks maybe. It later rolled out the back of my Scion and exlpoded when it hit the ground as I was getting some stuff out. I needed 12 stitches(4 inside, 8 outside) on my forearm. I have a pretty good scar on my arm, but I count myself lucky.
there's something funny about an actually dangerous surprise kombucha bomb of your own making.. guess it just sounds like such an elaborate unlikely combination of events. sorry that I laughed at your pain but good to hear it didn't end up worse (queue the song "dumb ways to die")
But one thing that walter could be right was about the stealing. You can let just a few junks stealing your shit easy like this. You heard that people was already talking about heinseberg, so the word spread easily. If you want to became tuco, like jesse suggest. You need to be a little more hard not let people steal you
‘Go do it yourself’ well he did get the money out of tucos nut and executed his killing 😂
It is interesting that they already are turning on walt 😅
Good reactiom 😊
Arianna cracks me up, man.. she reminds so much of that one True Crime Enjoyer "Empath" we all have in our lives.. definitely a perceptive and compassionate woman, just is kinda all about that woo-woo in addition to all that intelligence.. lol..
Maple, you get armchair psychiatrist next week, so, get ready 😊
I agree completely about the point that Walt is definitely letting his ego dictate his view of their business model. But would like to point out. When Tuico robbed Jessie, Walt didn't label it as breakage , Walt blew up an entire building to prove how serious he is..
Jesse specifies that his part is distribution. Which means he's essentially wholesaling a product purchased by a manufacturer. As a result he's free to ignore loss due to theft, but thinking the supplier should be partially responsible for that loss financially is absurd.
@@nochannel1q2321 My point was less about the legal responsibilities of various participants in an illegal enterprise and more about how Walt retaliated when his sales person was robbed but Jesse is reluctant to do the same.
1:21 “it’s all good” man
walt really triggered yall this episode lmfao
Funny cause he was completely correct in the jesse storyline. They think selling drugs is like running a supermarket 😂. It’s an illegal business and when someone robs you, you can’t just let that slide or soon everyone‘s gonna rob you.
Sadly violence is a necessity in a business like that cause you obviously can’t use law enforcement to deal with thieves and robbers. You need to lay down the law yourself
I used to eat that same lean cuisine panini!
They keep betraying their bias against Walt (and for Jesse and Skyler).
Jesse was the one who insisted on scaling up and bringing in his boys this time, explicitly disrespecting Walt and telling him he didn't get a vote in the process. And now Jesse wanted to pussy out instead of protecting his turf against armed theft, something they cannot sleep on. Obviously it should be Jesse stepping up as he's in charge of distribution (unless he wants to make Walt whole from his own share, which he didn't do).
Remember when Jesse lost his share in the impounded car. Walt did pay him back, even if was none too graciously (whether the loss was even Walt's fault is very debatable - he only asked Jesse to skip town, not to carry tens of thousands in his car).
Also remember that Walt was enough of a man to both get their money back from Tuco when he put Jesse in the hospital *and* get him an extra 15 grand for his suffering.
And Walt is the only one so far to have actually murdered people.
So where do these reactors get off questioning Walt's manhood?
And Skyler was completely wrong in smoking cigarettes while pregnant. The fetus is innocent, making Skyler an irresponsible b*tch. Also, there's nothing surprising about her being able to carry her pregnancy, she's not *that* stressed. Women have carried pregnancies to term in war zones. The human body is resilient. And her stress doesn't excuse her smoking, which was basically her acting out against Walt, but punishing their unborn child.
I'm just here to obey the breakage 😂
Put Barry on the back burner and watch this only haha
Breaking Bad is way better than Barry
Barry is way better than breaking bad.
OMG not them siding with Skyler and smoking 3 cigarettes while pregnant just cause it was stressing and she is warranted a break.
20:40
Yes, bald Walt is a looker, I agree
😂😂
While it’s true without walt he wouldn’t have been beaten and threatened…but he’s never seen this amount of money come in so fast either before waltuh
It's sad that the best part about this show is how most conflicts have nuances. Both parties arguing bring good arguments into discussion. Like in the discussion between Walt and Jesse about "breakage". They were both having good points. Walt was right too that in drug dealing they have to be tough not get "robbed with impunity". Yet you disregarded all that Walt was saying, talked over him, and completely took Jesse's side instead of admitting they both have good points. A bit disappointing.
will you guys watch Barry season 2 eventually??
They're already on season 3
@Diegesis okay I guess a better question was if they were gonna react to the next seasons soon?

Lol. I actually run grill. I'm not a Badger though because I actually got a raise. Had to get a little brag in there. 😊
Hank has never killed a guy in the line of duty before and he is cartel so there os more out there
I love you guys, but I don't understand why Walt is the bad guy for caring that she's smoking while she's pregnant with their baby.
Don't you know it's misogyny to hold women accountable? Confronting/questioning women is always wrong, no matter how rational it is.
Because he's calling out his wife about her smoking while pregnant when unbeknownst to his wife, he's cooking meth and potentially bringing death to their door by being involved with people like Tuco. None of this takes place within a vacuum. He can't stand that Skylar suspects something and won't accept his excuses.
@@brownsey1 I get that but I don't believe his wife should be smoking regardless. I am a cigarette smoker. But I guarantee you I would quit smoking if I was pregnant with a child. And I wouldn't understand how this would upset him. And right now she has no real reason to be upset other than expecting that he's not telling the truth.
@wesleypipes6600 She literally made a mistake. It was a poor judgement call that she quickly understood, so stopped, and then felt extremely guilty about it.
Walt on the other hand, is continuing in the meth business despite it clearly impacting his marriage, has nearly got him killed, has involved him in the death of two others, and even brought Tuco to his house, which could have put the family his loves at huge risk. Yet he still wants Jesse to "handle business" over the money, meaning he's now going all in when it comes to manufacturing and dealing meth.
Besides all that, Skylar obviously suspects something is up. She knows he has two phones. She knows he's continuing to lie. She clearly has something to be upset about as she's not stupid. Smoking while pregnant is not a good look, but the harm she did pales in comparison to the harm Walt could bring upon them all being in the game he's in.
update title to 2x5 :D
22:22 what kinda bothers me most about that scene was that the pack went down the toilet. it's not a trashcan, Skyler

"Three day stay, $13,000 and counting". Sorry, but that's cheap. Granted this is around 10 years later, but I was in the hospital in 2020 for kidney stones. I was in for one day and it cost me $11,000 for just the room. Three days for $13k is much better than one day for $11k.
