    I could write a novel over what a complete change this has made in my playing. It’s off the hook. People literally stop with thier eyes wide open listening to the freebird solo busking. Now I’ve finally by jamming along figured out the upper end and sound just insane. My style is power harp and scales and leads. Had it for a few weeks before I knew you could bend on the draw. I’m over diatonic. This is the future

    I don’t use the Wilde Tuning, I use ED Tuning. But I am so happy a professional Harp player is teaching an alternative tuning. I hope someday the manufacturers make it easy to get harps in the tuning we want, and have easier access to custom reedplates - like Seydel offers. People like Wilde have the potential to make big influence in the future of the harmonica. Thanks Wilde. ✪

      If you haven’t tried it I really recommend having one. At first it’s bizarre but if you play along just a bit it will suddenly click. I went from fumbling to ripping just by play along to freebird and that cool kinda blues jam he does it’s way out of the box and that’s where you’re playing needs to be Lee oskar style. Still blues but way out of the box. I strive to be different and not sound like everyone else. The Wilde tuning is so mad for me and my style

      @@richardleetbluesharmonicac7192 Yeah, but I love ED tuning. I’ve been using that exclusively and don’t touch Richter with a 10 foot pole because that doesn’t work for me at all.

    Great tuition video Will. I've decided to invest in some Skype lessons with you soon. James Harman was a big influence on me, sadly he just passed away. I've heard as God closes one door, he opens another. You now are my inspiration. I love all that you play. Cheers pal.🙏

    Just ordered my first Wilde tuned harp, Ive only been playing for around a year so I hope it wont be too advanced for me. The vibrato on the root notes in the upper octaves sound so sweet and I can’t wait to play around with it!

    Way up high, the bend is almost more in the eyebrows than the jaw... 🤨 😉 😎

    Hey man, I got your harmonica in the mail in the key of G and it has been so fun to play. I’ve heard you say that bending the high notes can be hard but I’m not having any problems with that, it feels like bending on a high G or F harp. I really like the sensitivity in the bends, you can control the reed a lot better once you get used to it. It takes a little bit of adjusting to the blues scale ending on 6 draw instead of 6 blow but it’s no big deal. It was also my first seydel harmonica and all I can say is wow, seydel makes an amazing harmonica. One of my favorite harmonicas now.

    I have a power bender tuning and I have a Wilde rock tuning on my way. The power bender tuning is great but one thing I miss is the draw 4&5 warble/ trill. Really there’s only about 4 notes that are different between the 2 tunings.
    I can’t wait to learn that freebies solo (though I got an Ab harp because I didn’t want a harp that was too high right yet.)

      Yep, although the only note that you need an overblow for is the minor 6 (in 2nd position) everything else is available with only draw bends

  • @cincinnatipedalsteel4347

    7 half step bend I. Fine with but when I try to do the tone and a half I get a squeal is that something I’m doing wrong?
    Also hole 10 I can’t get to bend at all and I don’t. Have much control on 9 but I can bend it no problem.
    Btw I got an Ab so it wasn’t as high and I figured would be easier to play
    Absolutely love the tuning will! Home run!

    Been wanting to pick up one of yours for a while or tune my own. Haven't been playing alot. Maybe get myself one around the holidays even though I dislike seydel harps. Haven't bought new interesting harps for a long time other than a lucky 13 a few months back 😂

    Hi, I have a question. When I play blues in 2nd position, playing descending phrases on the low notes in holes 2 and 1, I really want to descend further two more notes, past the range of the harmonica. I know that you can get a 12 hole harmonica where you can play those lower notes, but I was wondering if it's possible to have a reed plate on a 10-hole harmonica where everything is 'moved down one'? I never use the 10 hole. So I'm thinking of a reed plate where the 10th reed plays the notes that the 9th reed currently plays, the 9th reed plays the notes that the 8th currently plays, and so on, allowing for a longer reed at reed 1, which plays the lower notes? I'm sorry that I can't explain this very well, I haven't been playing very long.

      Why does no-one reply to this? I have asked this to four harmonica people and they all ignored it. Is it a stupid question?

    Just got mine, Will in A. Are you tongue blocking or lip blocking when you bend on 6 through 9? I'm having trouble with the reeds squealing so I'm wondering what's wrong with my technique. Thanks

    Played diatonic for years..
    How different is this?

    • @willharmonicawilde
      @willharmonicawilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Holes 1 to 5 are the same as Richter, holes 6,7,8 are a repeat of 2,3,4 (one octave higher) hole 9 is like hole two again and the reeds in hole 10 are reversed, so the blow bend becomes a draw bend.

    Is the Wilde Tuning Seydel similar to Honer PentaHarp?

    • @willharmonicawilde
      @willharmonicawilde  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not at all, Pentaharp isn't very expressive because the root note and the fifth are both unbendable blow notes.

    • @WolfsburgWarehouse
      @WolfsburgWarehouse 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@willharmonicawilde Does Seydel make a "penta" harp? People say they find it confusing to play. Could you play one?

    • @willharmonicawilde
      @willharmonicawilde  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@WolfsburgWarehouse Not that I'm aware of, it's Hohner's new thing. I could play it for sure, the pattern is all blow draw blow draw, intuitive to someone who's never played harmonica before, but if you're used to playing Richter then obviously all the notes are in a different place to what you're used to, whereas with Wilde tuning the note layout is all based on the Richter system.
