If you have more than one marshalls in your area go to both. My closest marshalls doesn't have the same selection of plus sizes even though they are the same sized stores.

Good luck on your hernia surgery! I’m waiting on my left knee replacement surgery, I’ve already had my right knee done 5 years ago when I was 53 and I’m not looking forward to this one..😬😬
Oh my goodness, I cannot imagine the recovery that a knee surgery requires! I do not envy you! I think that my hernia repair will not be awful, but the surgeon requires that I lose 23 pounds before he will perform it (I have 10 to go, so I will make it!). That has been a frustration!
I appreciate your kind words, my goodness, I am a child of the 90s (born in the 80s, but formative years) kids were harsh!! Let me tell you, TH-cam comments can be a minefield- I have a much easier time deleting the people who just come by to be jerks than people who tell me that I have hurt them with things that I’ve said! It is such an odd place to be.

Daddy had a lift chair when his mobility started declining, and it was a God-send! Hope that your family member enjoys hers. It looks like a really nice one!
It might be helpful to do a video on fashion for people who have challenges with range of motion! In the past two days, I've spent time with one person who got a pacemaker and can't lift her arm for weeks (which doesn't work for traditional shirts) and one who had to dress professionally for work while in a cast and using a mobility scooter. Since the chair helps people with challenges with transitioning from sitting to standing, it seems as if things like bending forward/crossing legs to put on shoes/socks, stepping into pants/skirts, etc. could also be challenging for the same people. I'm not creative or knowledgeable enough about clothing to think of options of functional clothing that still allow people to feel confident and stylish, but feel like maybe you are.😀

I love that idea!! Thank you so much for sharing it, I think that it would be very helpful. I have had quite a few people say that they struggle with things like back fastening bras, etc due to ailments such as fibromyalgia. I imagine that many people could benefit from that type of content!
Loved the black wrap dress and the black & white print pants. Great haul! I had hernia surgery 4 years ago (today! now that I think of it) and I had no problems. Any pain from the surgery was manageable with Tylenol & certainly less than the excruciating pain I occasionally got from the hernia! Good luck ❤
Appreciate you going into the "thinner" comments, though I hope you don't let them get to you too much. I feel you generally do a good job of mentioning when an aspect of clothing is something you like that it's something you like "on myself" (yourself), so I didn't realize anyone thought this was a serious issue or could be mistaken as commentary that "everyone should strive to look thinner", just because you said black makes you look thinner, which is a known visual phenomenon. Heck, one of the reasons I stuck around when I first found your channel was that it was refreshing hearing someone talk about their insecurities and how it affects their general fashion tastes, always seeming to mention with each piece that you didn't like, "That's just because I'm insecure about my arms (for example) at the moment, I can see how someone else would think it's great, and the quality/feel/(whatever you can be objective about) is abc, so if/when I feel better about my arms, I'd feel xyz way about it instead". Your authenticity is engaging and refreshing. Like your husband said, be authentic to yourself, and you'll be being authentic to your audience. Sometimes that means addressing concerns like that comment with the same kindness you did here- after all, they probably had good intentions, but so do you!

Julie, I hear you!! I went back in 2022 and needed things that were decent to be seen in! My sister in law found tons. Nordstrom had some nice dresses, they were pricier, but very nice! I have also found great dresses on Amazon, my favorites were from Hanna Nikole- mostly solid colors, but great for my office!

I love the sweater you have on! The blouse you can’t put your finger on makes your shoulders look rounded and they’re not. Black dress is slenderizing but it needs something a necklace, a sweater or jacket brighten you up. I love stripes and I wear hoodies but never up. I would keep stripes.

My opinion on Marshall's isn't the best but here's why. There is one a few miles away from my local area. I went to try and see if I could find anything cute, and sadly for the entire store there was 1 plus size rack. NOT even joking. 1 rack about 3 feet long with plus size clothes. This was a huge store too! All the clothes on the rack were very... odd clothes. Like weird textures, patterns, thin fabric. The Ross next door has so much cute plus size stuff though! The Ross has me leaving with like 5 different dresses and tops!

I think the paisley long-sleeved shirt might be better for Fall/Winter paired with a solid, open vest. The black and white pants with the solid black top untucked looks fabulous on you! I love the sleeveless black v-neck dress which is so versatile.

Mornin' Meredith! Loved everything except the one your teenage self would have loved. That one - both color and style - just didn't do you justice! Oh, and the floral with lace top with lace insets. Like you, I thought it was so pretty when you held it up. The cut was strange, though - too boxy and looks like a jammie top. The kiss of death! 😂😂
Loved the black and white pants (they aren't too small at all) and the spectacular black top. Loved the black dress pants. Super loved the black dress - absolutely beautiful cut and fit on you. And that adorable blue and white striped jacket!! I have a feeling you'll wear that more than you think you will.
Marshall's used to be my go-to spot. Even more than TJ Maxx. I loved finding really well-constructed, nicely designed clothing for Target prices! And the selection of fragrances, accessories (purses!) and so much more was incredible. If I ever needed luggage, Marshall's was my go-to, followed by TJ Maxx.
I also just wanted to say that no apology was needed for any comments you may have made about thinness. First of all, you're speaking for yourself. I'm really over the terminally offended deciding to be traumatized by someone else's opinion or word choice. Almost every woman wants clothing that fits well and enhances the figure while NOT adding pounds. It's just truth. And even better if it's actually slimming. I have friends who are size 4 and 6 - quite slender - and even they make the statement, "I love that it's so slimming!" None of us, except the tiny minority who have a problem with being underweight, want to look bulkier than we actually are. It's just a fact. It's an odd phenomenon that the few want to control and invalidate the words of the many based on their own feelings. Say what you like, Meredith. Some of your very best qualities are your authenticity, your enthusiasm for your videos and life in general and that you are always 100% Meredith. ❤❤ Don't let anyone change that.
ETA: Hopefully you can borrow the chair back after your surgery. It will make a world of difference to you. I had major abdominal surgery a few years ago - intestinal blockage, appendectomy and gall bladder removal. I thought I could tough it out and didn't buy a recliner. Huge mistake! I had to sleep on the sofa sitting up and I'd often wake up lying down. (The pain meds allowed me to jettison the extra pillows and lie down without waking.) It was impossible to sit up or get up from lying down. I had to roll out onto my hands and knees and ease myself up, holding onto the coffee table in one side and the sofa on the other. And that's why I had to sleep there. The bed was too high to do that and I was trapped until someone could come help me. That recliner would have been a godsend!
Oh my goodness, Lucinda, you hit the nail on the head with the terminally offended comment. I will say that I always try to be a very kind person and the thought of offending someone really just makes me uneasy. I get negative comments all of the time, but generally, they are easy to write off as being from jerks, delete, move on. Ross and I talked a lot about it, and I came to the conclusion that if I try so hard not to offend anyone that I will surely lose myself in the process. Life is nuanced- I can want to look good where I am, but also work to lose weight, and those don’t contradict each other!
I will have to see on the chair! My father-in-law just got out of the hospital with a bad leg infection. I am not having my surgery until the last week of June, so there is still time. That abdominal surgery sounds awful!! They say that this is an ‘easy’ surgery, but I have a fairly low pain tolerance, so I know it will be pretty rough.

There's a much better selection online for both Marshalls and TJMaxx (with considerable overlap). Our local stores only have one row of Plus Size clothing, sometimes a round rack at the end. I find that a lot of Plus clothes at Marshalls/TJMaxx are not really trendy. I do like that if I do enough digging, I can find items with cotton, linen blends, and rayon for summer.
During the trick or treating events at the malls it’s very crowded , but often inside the shops is empty.

Good thing I’m in a no buy year! Though I am pretty sure you were reading my text a few weeks ago when I was so tempted to buy a recliner! I just wasn’t feeling up to par and I didn’t want to go to bed and I didn’t want to sit on sofa or in my chairs, even though I have ottomans for both chairs in the living room and I find the Barcelona chairs amazingly supportive, they just don’t give one that cuddle up feeling a recliner would. My bed is adjustable and it’s almost like a recliner but I was adamant that I didn’t want to go to bed. My friends were no help…yes, get one. It’s for your health, you can go for it. Well fast forward a few weeks and a road trip to Williamsburg and ta da…that urge has passed or girl, I’d have been ordering this straight away! If I get the urge again, I’ll be looking for this video, or maybe I’ll just get in their mailing list! The heat and massage is so tempting! But 🤑🤑🤑
And oh yes, the clothes. 😂😂😂. Loved both pair of pants. That large print was actually flattering..yay! And basic black pants…that are comfortable! Winner! I think the print blouse would look great without the crochet on the sleeves… to me it took away from the look…it may have been beautiful on its own, it just didn’t work IMO. I could imagine the top without it and especially with the edging around the front placket, it would have been a really versatile and flattering piece. Loved the black dress on you! Loved the hoodie too! Such quality! Guess it’s good that I’m not buying anything in 2024! 🎉🎉🎉

I had actually looked online for a chair before I went to Williamsburg and didn’t see this brand. Many didn’t have good reviews so I’m seriously going to try and remember this brand. Great price! I see they come in two sizes for regular and tall. Did you get the tall version? I used to be close to 5’10” but sadly now just less than 5’8”. I’ll never say I’m any less! I loved being tall! 😂😂😂
EDITED TO ADD: So I’m on the phone this afternoon with a friend, my girlfriend who has a standard of hour long …minimum…phone calls and I’m thinking that a recliner sure would feel good… so I go back to look at the website and I can’t get a photo or description of any chair to pop up…I was most impressed when I saw my favorite TH-cam physical therapist (Bob & Brad) had a favorite chair but could I see any details…nope. Nice selection. I do usually find clothes in Marshall’s. It’s a hit or miss for me. I did find a great coat one time. Didn’t need it but I bought it.

The faux wrap dress was really nice. I have lots of clothes from Marshals and also Ross. Good brands great prices. Only drawback to shopping at these stores is if you like it you better get it right then because if you leave change your mind and go back for it 9 times out of 10 it will not be there. 100% years ago I found a pair of Merrell sandals at Ross. Only pair they had. Wear them every day. After TWO years of searching there for my next pair, I found them last week!! It was like I hit the Lottery ❤

Meredith, this chair is a miracle. My husband has post polio and is losing strength in his legs, this is the best idea. I haven’t found it here in Canada yet but sure will look for it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. ❤️
I’m a nurse, and have worked closely with geriatric and rehab populations. I think that you will find a chair like this to be worth its weight in gold! The added independence and mobility your husband will gain will be priceless. My Daddy couldn’t have lived comfortably without his. Best of luck to you!

Language is hard. I get what you are saying when you say thinner. At the same time we know as women that thinness has been a ruler against which we were/are judged.
But we all need to feel confident. For instance I wear a size 12 or 14, pretty common. But I also have scoliosis and my curvature is becoming more obvious over time. I’ve started looking at all tops and dresses from the perspective of how well they hide my deformity. So we all have stuff we wish to smooth over to feel sharp and confident.
First time watching you. Lots of great outfits. Plush that chair. I just got out of the hospital . Have a bd knee injury and I’m super stiff my fear of falling is d I’ve falling twice because I’m legally blind in my right eye so it’s really challenging for me. But that chair I think will help me get up and moving a lil easier. Gonna check it out . I wanna

Elizabeth, I hope that it helps! We took it to my father in law on Friday. He just got out of the hospital with a leg infection and needed help getting up and down for a little bit.
I will warn you, it is very heavy, you will need help putting it together- it is not difficult, but heavy.
I sincerely hope that you are able to get some rest and mobility soon.
I think the top with the lace would look good with white pants, doesn't work with the black.
