My uncle (also a huge Husker fan) bout a frame and kept it unpatched until they sold the house several years later. They lived in Bellevue’s Neb. The people who bought the house asked what happened and the story was one reason they bought the house.

Never understood why Switzer only put Blevins in the game when he was out of options. Dean proved time and again he could run the offense, directed some of the greatest comebacks of that Era. What was the problem with the coach?
It's Berns...played at Wichita Falls Coyotes. This indeed was the birth of "SOONER MAGIC." The next year Blevins would complete the pass to Rhodes that set up the winning FG vs Ohio State.

Fortunately, Switzer has a much better eye for it than you do. This game reminds me of how tough and hard-nosed that Husker defense was. That Sooner offense rose to the challenge in the 4th qtr, but that defense didn't make any QB look good as I recall.😎

OU left offensive guard #60 Jamie Melendez was my all time favorite Sooner lineman. Underrated for sure.
