Now Nebraska can’t beat a FCS team.
What ever happened to Nebraska football.
I was 17 and watching at home in East Central Alabama. Cotton Mill territory. Alabama to me had better talent, but the interceptions were killers
Rutledge threw 4 or 5 interceptions in this game.
5, and did not throw another for next 10 games on schedule.
Old school run the ball slugfest, nd fan
Has Alabama ever beaten Nebraska?
The following season in Tuscaloosa, can't remember the score though.
@@boondoxatron9167 Neb never played in Tusc. Game was in Bham 20-3.
@@boondoxatron9167 20-3 Bama. Should have been 30-3.
@@boondoxatron9167Alabama 20 Nebraska 3. Actually is was in Birmingham. But the cheerleaders spent Friday night in T-town. Fun time.
Just think, 18 years later the greatest team ever in college football, 1995 Nebraska, had the greatest season of all time, magical incredible powerful , the accolades never stop
Leave it to Jeff to help out the other team. We couldn't never get a decent qb for some reason.
Are you serious? Rutledge was the #1 QB prospect coming out of high school at Banks, where he won a high school national championship. He was a dropback pro style guy, but they put him in the wishbone. He did well, winning a national title and, because of this game, narrowly missed another one. Every 5-6 games, he would have a bad passing game. His pro career was very similar. Other games, he would look like Johnny Unitas.
Are you serious or delirious? He would play fair one week and terrible another. We always had bad qbs back then. Go back and watch the games.
@@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 Don’t need to go back and watch the games, I saw them the first time. You go back and study the conference and national titles from the 70’s. No teams more dominant than USC, Bama, ND, and Nebraska.
@@keylearning5746 I was around the 1st time and still remember our defense's and running game kept us going. Jeff was not a real good qb, period.
@@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 Really? All SEC, Sugar Bowl MVP IN ‘78 for the Natty,, National titles in high school and college (playing for the Bear no less) and a long time backup for the Giants (with a Super Bowl ring he actually had to come in for injured Phil Simms and lead them to the win). Yeah, not that good.
33-5 record as a starter running the wishbone when he was actually a pro style drop back passer.
14 seasons as an NFL backup, plenty of time for QBs who “aren’t that good” to be replaced.
Rutledge, what a joke.
Yeah, terrible.
Nebraska gave steroids to their players.
Enjoy watching this, y'all will never see it again in your lifetimes, LMAO 🤣😆🤣😆
Be kinda nice if the game wasn't so butchered up.
Be nice if wouldn’t be such a troll on Husker videos but hey we all can’t get what we want now can we.
