The only Nebraska-Oklahoma game since the early 70s to not be nationally televised (Oklahoma was on probation in '89 and could not have any of their games on live television)
Thanks for posting this! The only other Husker games I was able to watch that season were Colorado and the Fiesta Bowl, and those were both losses. It's nice to see the 1989 team win a game!
Another commenter already mentioned that Oklahoma was banned from nationally televised games for the year due to their rampant cheating, so this was a local broadcast in Nebraska.
Thank you for this upload! Gerry "The Polish Rifle" Gdowski was one of the most underrated Husker QBs in the modern era IMHO.

It's always easier just to note the years Oklahoma was not on probation between the 1950s and 1980s.
R.I.P. #68 Jake Young and #32 Ken Clark. Gone, but not forgotten. Go Big Red!

Sometimes I forget how well Gdowski could throw.
DAMNNNNNN SHAME Gaddis was lost for the year that year.
Bit of a homer announcer.
Like most home team announcers, John
It is a Nebraska announcer, John. He had better be a homer.
