- A video from 1989 in which Ian St John selects his all time greatest Liverpool XI, narrated by Brian Moore.
I have edited the video to remove footage of European finals, to try to avoid it being blocked by UEFA. I have also replaced some slightly awkward commentary overdubs by Brian Moore with the original commentary where possible.

Мy neighbor a football player who was in Cyprus for pre season training camp
brought me from there a videotape with this show in 1990. Since then this is one of my favourite shows ever!!! Still have it on my PC from that 1990 VHS tape! :-) Thank you for uploading this, mate!!!! :-)

Peter Beardsley is the most heavenly gifted liverpool player I have ever seen.
One of my all time favourites was Beardo but for pure talent I think John Barnes was even more gifted. Loved em both as a kid. Imagine them with all the advantages players have today as in modern pitches, boots, referee protection.
They would be a sight to behold..

Funny how keegan won european player twice yet everyone who's seen them both play knows that Kenny was the better player.He got a great reception when he came back with Hamburg a year later-beaten 6-0.
Keegan had a better year in his last season with Liverpool than he did in either of his two seasons when he won the ballon d’or with Hamburg. The ballon d’or voters simply don’t like voting for players that play in England. Ian Rush deserved a golden ball. So did king Kenny. And more recently Mo Salah.

It was very sad Kevin keegan leaving Liverpool to go Hamburg but Liverpool signed a better player when Kenny Dalglish arrived at the club I think it would've been brilliant Kevin keegan and Kenny Dalglish in the same Liverpool team together and if you had Graeme Souness and Steven Gerrard in the midfield together it be fantastic what a team that would've been it be fantastic coming from Liverpool fan

Always feel for Kevin Keegan because he gets a bad rap next to King Kenny. We love Dalglish; however, Keegan was the reason why I started supporting Liverpool when I was a seven year old in 1976. Keegan was brilliant and I loved him. Then when Keegan left the greatest of all footballers Kenny Dalglish arrived and played for Liverpool like a true genius.

Looks like there are some on ebay if you've still got a VHS player. But I'm guessing you don't if you used to have the videos and don't now.
I always had Kenny down as a striker , or forward , maybe it's me that's wrong.... I was fuming jumping the gun cos he wasn't mentioned in the strikers hahaha, Bute ain't I??? YNWA

Daglish not even in the running to be selected !!! Can't agree with that , he,s Liverpools number 1 full stop.
I guess the Saint didn't rate Daglish then! Must av had a fall out in a Scotland game, or did Kenny take his place ? 😄🤣 and as for Beardsley being like Keegan I'd say he was way more like Daglish, he was as skillful and also great with his back to goal and neither had not much pace but we're a hard faster in the head. Can't believe Kenny not getting even a mention!!! It's a sin , got to be a grudge I can't explain it any other way.. Not even a mention!!! Stunned. YNWA

He played some games in midfield, but was more often a striker. You might want to learn how to spell his name though. It's Dalglish not Daglish!
@@DaveWallerLFC an oversight mate I can spell. But ye I was only 7 when Kenny was signed after Keegan had left so to me he was a striker but looking back now u right he did drop back at times especially as he got older and we got other strikers in. I jumped the gun when he wasn't mentioned in the strikers not having the foresight to realise Saint John would put him in with the midfield.
Used to drop into midfield when we played away,then push up in the last 15 mins if we needed a goal
