THIS IS THE VIDEO I WAS LOOKING FOR TH-cam ALGORITHM!!!! No long introduction, straight to the point, fast result. Great work man, thanks :) Now I can wear my hair confidently!
I have questions. 1. Are you using heat? Because there are options that you can use cold 2. What product did you use to add volume 3 what hair spray are you using
high heat and high power to remove moisture, high heat and low power after the hair is dry, to polish it, then cold air at the end to set the style. The product is ADH Dry, I make it, and it can be found at yadhbrand.com but any water based product with low hold and no shine will work. I don't really have A hair spray that I stick with, but lately I've really been enjoying REF's hair sprays and oils.
Dudes got very good thick hair. I wish this was me so jealous. Thanks for the tip 👍 I'll apply the same to my hair. By the way, this video was straight to the point thanks man
Asian over here with really thin flat hair. Hair was always falling down a couple hours. I would try to do my hair after trying to use a vented brush to lift it, but this video helped a lot. thanks!
Thanks man! I appreciate the video. I have a filthy job and am forced to shower often. Along with washing my hair and scalpe every day. Really fighting flat, and dry hair. A leave in conditioner helped paired with a molding paste, but like you said the weight of the product would bring it back down.
Stop washing your hair every day and instead use a dry shampoo in a can - aerosol.Spray your hair with that and it will keep its shape and hold.Always finish with a blast of strong hairspray strong hold.
I have thin hair and just got my first slick back haircut. Looked great walking out of the barbershop but now I have no idea how to style it at home. All I have is pomade, so now I’m thinking about buying an blow dryer and sea salt hair spray
This is probably just for fine hair people and people that can't seem to get volume. Cause you said to keep it really simple with product. But I have coarser thick hair that gets a bunch of volume. Whenever I don't apply certain products to my hair. My hair doesn't have that natural smooth texture with no frizz and instead seems really dry/limp towards the ends. It also like to clump off towards the ends on the sides. I start off with leave in condtioner light spray to seal in the moisture. Than apply a oil based heat protectant to get a really shiny smooth result from blowout. Rough dry til it's about 100 percent dry. Than smooth out hair with round brush. Than apply light holding molding paste. Not sure if im doing too much. Just it seems like if I don't apply those products my hair looks too dry and texture feels off.
I can only guess without seeing your hair in person, but that routine sounds pretty spot on for some of the coarse wiry hair I get in my chair. Cheers to you for putting in the work, I’m sure your hair looks way better now than it did before you learned how to do all that!
@@andrewdoeshair thanks! Now any tips to make your hair more smooth but still wavy. Maybe it just the angle of my round brush. Also how do people with wavy hair keep their ends from looking split apart or messy. I don't think I have split ends. Might be my hair texture. But my strands look clumped up as opposed to a clean shape and coming to a point. Look up John b or chase stokes. It might that his hair is fine. But I just looks so perfect. Even in non edited pictures when his hair is messy his strands are wavy but are controlled. They aren't flipping up , having flyaways or frizz. They are super tight and elegant. Honestly it might just be that is hair is fine. Cause he looks to not blowout his hair. It's just carefree but still neat at same time. It might be my hair is too short. Maybe once my hair is long my wave will start to come out more and my hair will be easier to smooth. Any ideas
@@lorenzopage9059 high heat and high power to dry hair, high heat low power to smooth/polish most types of hair, medium heat if you have very brittle or damaged hair. Cold air sets it in place, exactly the way a piece of fabric locks in its shape wherever cools (like pulling a hot shirt out of the dryer and having it cool with wrinkles).
I just want that kind of hair structure. Experimenting all the time but my hair is and stays frizzy. I cannot even think of having as smooth hair as the man in the video but I´d just love to. Nothing more than that.
Great Practical Tip. Can you make an informative video on the use of what different heat settings with different combinations of speed do in hairdryer?
Can I use cold air after I’ve styled my hair how I want? I’ve heard that putting hot air on your hair opens the cuticle and then cold air shuts the cuticle and makes the hair stay up how do you sculpted it.
Think of your hair like a fabric- whether you’re pulling a hot t shirt out of the dryer or ironing a button down shirt, the heat loosens it up then whatever it cools doing it stays doing. That’s why your dryer has a cold button, to help you cool the hair right where you want it to stay, or “set” the style.
That’s usually an issue with the haircut itself, the weight needs to be redistributed. Very specific types of texturizing can also coerce that, but it’ll take a hairdresser who knows what they’re doing to get it right.
What kind of Blow Dryer is that? Do i have to have anything specific in blow-dryers? (P.S - Asking because i've never used a hair dryer before. ) My hair always falls flat..
Awesome video! I honestly thought once the hair is fully dry, that’s when your suppose to stop, thanks for the tip! Also, what’s your go to hair spray?
This is such great information! How would you adapt this for Thick Hair? My hair falls quite often so I’m not sure whether to use heavier or lighter product
Thanks! I actually have an older video where I create similar volume and control on coarse straight Asian hair. I think it’s currently titled “good hair doesn’t come from a jar”
This was great! How do you feel about prestylers during the blowdry process? I've had a lot more success getting strands to stick like you did with something light but strong like certain clays or thickening tonics.
They may work, but I don’t ever use anything like that. I like to keep it as simple as possible, something light and sticky before blow dry then something light with hold it they don’t want the style to move any more. When in doubt, visit a professional and get their take on your hair

Thanks great - do you use the cold air setting at the end of this process to seal it?

My issue with my hair is wind, find it easy to style but as soon as wind hits it, its a complete mess and hard to get back to orginal style
