I'm a huge Fugazi fan and Refused have always reminded me of them, especially in this song where they paraphrase Fugazi's "Greed": "we wanted everything, we needed everything." I love this album so much
I'm now discovering punk and Refused after listening to refused play as the band Samurai from Cyberpunk lol I feel so late but better late than never, I'm extremely greatful I found this.

The Clash were a hype machine product more than anything else. I think other bands in the same era had far more influence without the "rock critic" hyperbole selling a myth about them. Not all "rock critics" are musicians themselves. Some are just paid wordslingers selling "units" for publishers. For a good analogy read "Fire the Bastards" by Jack Green. It's talking about book critics not record critics, but the same ideas apply.
@@michaelotis223 Yeah similar, or Interpol. I like Clash okay, but "influential" suggests exaggeration or maybe those influenced had nothing but Clash to listen to. Refused, to me, are more interesting & innovative than the Clash.
Nah, it's way too liberation for the anime, while the anime was focusing to love and tragic in Night City. Even the opening "This fire" by Franz Ferdinand remove a few lyrics line because it doesn't fit the story.
hot take: i don't actually care that refused "stole" this. and neither should you, if you actually give a shit about this song's message. art belongs to EVERYONE, not individuals
@@etcbyte Sonny Rollins' 'Alfie'... I'd say it's more of a homage than a rip off given the jazz references throughout Refuses album. I think it's genius the way they take on a jazz standard from a hardcore perspective
The Shape of Punk to Come is absolutely one of the best punk albums of all time.
Unfortunately the album title turned out to be untrue. RIP punk rock.
dont be lazy stephen. just look harder. it hasnt gone anywhere
Yea, you're right. I'm just jaded and old heh
*The best
Not just punk, but from first track to the last, best album. A true modern classic.
Wish I could forget this song so the chorus could actually surprise me again
Not me lol! I love grooving through the verses and just savouring the anticipation of that moment when the chorus drops

:-) c est vrai ...!!!
They have said that Red
Medicine was a massive influence on this album
I don't care what platform got you to listen to this song. I'm just glad you heard it.

I am Danish. And I bow my head to this unique (Swedish) masterpiece of an album. Literally the best "unknown" album ever.

Thank you for posting this
Absolutely, positively one of my "10 Desert Island" albums. Timeless, brilliant and fucking badass.
What are the other 9?
Tell us the 9, man
Come on we need the other 9
we gotta know the other 9 bro
bros I think he's not gonna tell us about the other 9...
Johny would approve 😎🤙
Time to party like it's 2023
How kickass is this song? The main riff is has a classic punk feel like it could have been written by the Clash, and then shit goes berserk.
The guitar riff in the chorus is probably one of my favourite riffs of all time, no lie.

@@seanoneil277 interesting take. Kinda like how The Strokes were fueled by massive hype

Cept....far better.
Revolutionary album.
Sadly overlooked and underappreciated.
Back when I was a DJ at a Pirate radio station in the 90's, this was one of the tunes we played when we started our show.
going to the 40's ... I still love that music. 20 years ago I was listening to that music already...
we want the airwaves back
@skramz kid ????
1:20 rip my ear drums 😉
Am I crazy or this could be a Cyberpunk Edgerunners Ost? Nevertheless, the song is clucking banger as the whole album

@@NemoNobodySMT they should do another story, may be about 6th Street Gang
Maybe another story in Night city. But not Edgerunners.
Great song
This song rules
So fucking GREAT.
Wenn meine Mutter noch am Leben wäre, würde ich sie zwingen, sich das anzuhören.

Absolutely.
They were. They sampled this in Born For This.

Melhor banda do mundo!!!
2:20 my favorite part
The Shape= the new Noise? I'm asking
Bigger Cages! Longer Chains!
Great one! TINC rules
Oh yea 🤘🏼
The start kinda sounds like the start of Franz Ferdinand’s This Fire funnily enough.
Панки Хой!
my teacher put me on🔥🔥
WHAT UP
we need a new fucking frequency right about now
this what x wing pilots listen to just before engaging the imperial hegemony .
hello glass beach community
lol wtf for the longest time i thought this was an (international) noise conspiracy song
slosh77 It was one track prior to an INC song on some type of Epitaph compilation back in the day. Probably why.
2022
The album is a too pretentious in my opinion, but still good and this song slaps.
