      also when it comes to the options you have when you buy a scooter.
      Bigger, heavier people just NEED a stronger scooter, thats why i dont get the laws everywhere… sure a 40-50kg kid can be fine with a legal 250/350W scooter, but me as a grown man just need at absolute least 1000W, better 2x1000W dual motor, even if its illegal to drive.

      Ha ha! yes. For some reason I didn't notice it on the day we were filming (probably because I didn't ride the GTR that day), but that noise is obnoxious! • @tonywong3472
    @tonywong3472 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    @Paul. For stability/control/safety at speeds above 40 mph, do you find that the dual stems/fork design of the Wolf Series is "better" than the single stem design found on other high speed scooters?
    I currently have the Mantis King GT with over 1300 miles on it and feel very comfortable riding it at 43 mphs (wearing a full set of motorcycle safety gear).
    I am feeling the itch to go faster, while being a "responsible idiot". 😂
    Top end speed sounds great, but if you can't control it safety, what's the point other than being future organ donor!

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, but not for the reason you might think. I think the dual stem scooters are naturally more stable, not because they're stronger, but because the mass of the front end is spread out wider and has a much higher (maybe 10X higher) moment of intertia. This is especially true for the GTR with the controller mounted on the forks.
      The other major factors are rake and trail, of course. The more the forks lean back, the better the stability tends to be. On all of them it can get super sketchy at high speeds if you give the scooter bad input. (the Roadster in particular gets mad at you if you bonk the handlebars at speed). -Paul

    • @tonywong3472
      @tonywong3472 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Paul. Thank you for taking the time to reply back with a wealth of information for me to consider.
      Regarding the front end mass of the Wolf series (I am more interested in the Wolf King GT Pro...I think the GTR is too high of the ground when coming to a stop...I am 5'6") vs. the RS In motion's steeper rake....which do you find more stable at high speed?
      Is greater frontend mass more meaningful vs. steeper rake of the front stem?

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The RS is not particularly stable. If you look at the end of one of the runs you can see the bars wiggle. We haven't tightened the friction-based "damper" though.
      The GT Pro is a GREAT scooter. There are several things I like better about it than the GTR: taller bars, lower deck and I also prefer the thumb throttle. It's got *plenty* of power. The GT Pro is more stable than the RS at speed. -Paul

    • @tonywong3472
      @tonywong3472 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Paul. Thank you for replying back to me again. I appreciate your suggestion and insight...and endorsement of the King GT Pro.
      I have been a long time follower of the channel and my purchases have been based on your great reviews.
      My 1st scooter was the Horizon...I flipped it going too fast, hitting a speed bump = ER/knocking myself out...only thing that saved me from brain damage was my bicycle helmet helmet. (Wear your safety gear and know what the limits of what your scooter is designed to do!)
      My 2nd scooter is the Mantis King GT, which I bought based on your through/detailed review....and I love commuting daily to work on. It just makes life a little more exciting/fun.
      The Mantis King GT should be plenty of speed and power for any reasonable person to practically use, but the stupid part of me (as a 54 yr old) is resisting the urge to get the Wolf King GT pro...lol!
      Thank again and looking forward to seeing ESG/Rider Guide grow in the future!
      P.S. Why did you guys change back to ESG vs. sticking with Rider Guide??? -Tony

    I was shocked so many of those races were so close! All have way more power than anyone really needs. The Inmotion RS is probably the best all-around scooter on the market IMO, and the build quality is fantastic as well (the internals are lightyears beyond the competition)! The Roadster is pretty sick, but $$$ and honestly, just asking for regulation after idiots start dying at 70+ mph on a scooter! The GTR is a value for sure, but it looks ridiculous IMO and after owning and opening up Kaabo's scooters, total crap build quality (I guess you get what you pay for). RS is the pick IMO!

    Realistically these electric scooters are the least efficient when running at top speed. And being that you're more exposed than you are on a motorcycle, I'm more concerned with range, and quality of build. Anything over 45mph is fast enough for me.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True! Range drops rapidly when operated at above 25mph. Alex Simon rode a fleet of different scooters across the USA and reported that he kept his speeds to about 25mph because it seemed to be the sweet spot for speed vs. range. It's fun to be able to go up into the low 40's but I agree that above 45mph isn't that useful. In fact the main time a higher top speed comes into play is when someone asks you at a stop light "hey, how fast will that go?" and you get to say a really high number.

      For the real numbers, check out the video I've linked below. (I've linked directly to the big graph showing how they all compare).
      Equipment-wise, the best thing to use is a pro-grade data logger like the Vbox Sport. That's what we use for all of our reviews and testing. Dragy is ok for goofing around with and will get you pretty close, but the $500 data-loggers we use (we have three of them), are much more precise and really let you dig into the data to see what's behind the numbers.
