And that's just the start! We've cherry-picked features from several top-tier models currently on the market. As much as I want to love the carbon fiber thing, I'm concerned about longevity, as carbon fiber doesn't have the endurance for stressors, bending, compression, expansion (hot/cold) over and over. With aluminum or steel, there's a flex with the metal that allows it to remain rigid and keep its form, carbon fiber doesn't do that. We use a Pro-grade data logger called a Vbox Sport. It uses GPS, but interpolates 20 times per second to grab the data points in between. Then I graph it and it calculates the average sustained top speed over the course of several seconds. Then I average the eastbound and westbound runs together to cancel out the effect of headwind or tailwind. Single direction runs can be way way off, because even a 4 mph breeze makes you 4mph faster one direction and 4mph slower in the other. But that cancels out when we average the runs together. -Paul
We actually ran out of gas in teh 4Runner because the gas station in Bolinas went out of business! I think scooter companies should have two specific categories. Road & Off road. I say this because the high suspension off road capabilities of the Wolf GTR is hands down a winner.
I haven't taken them apart yet, but there is an o-ring down the middle. You can apparently also remove the rims from the motor as a unit (still fully inflated) , so you could swap different types of tires by unbolting the rims. But for normal tire changes, you can just split the rims. Best of both worlds! -Paul
@ can you tell me the letters and numbers on the side of the roaster,S motors? I build scooters and would love to try to use the roadsters motors as there most likely produced by a Chinese facotry
Thanks for the reminder! I’m really curious about the Thunder 3! We don’t have one coming, that I know of, but it’s the top of my list right now for Dualtrons that I’d like to test! -Paul
No plates for scooters in the US. Laws vary by state (we made a video about how different states treat scooters a while back). In most states scooters are required to stay below 15 to 20 mph, but where we are, law enforcement seems to have better things to do than worry about how fast scooters are going, as long as the riders is being reasonable (not blasting past all of the cars, for example). -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Asymmetric is a more succinct way of putting that. Maybe, scooter manufactures will take note an implement that into future models.🙏🙏🙏
@@Iisakki3000 I mentioned 15” wheel because it’s already proven wheel size on the Dualtron City. I haven’t personally ridden one but, from what I gather it’s super stable because of the bigger wheels. As Paul mentioned above asymmetric. I think that would be the ticket. 15” to 13” front wheel with a 12” or 11” wheel on the back. Testing out which wheel combo works best would be the next obvious step🤔 Would be sweet if they started testing common wheel sizes from mopeds or motor scooters. There’s a plentiful supply already available for that market.
@@GreggsonWong maybe I'm wrong I did once try a scooter with 12" wheels and I thought they were huge. 15 sounds crazy (that's almost 40cm!), but maybe it makes sense for a scooter that goes crazy fast.
Wow, it’s a thing, for sure. It worries me stuff getting up into this category, just because I worry about a crackdown into more normal stuff. My primary ride is an EUC that’ll do 40+, but I rarely do that, so it feels like I can fly under the radar to some degree. The law where I live is any power level, 25 and under in public roads is legal. I cheat that a bit, but not 70 mph. For the price, it’s hard for me to justify not just getting a legal motorcycle that wildly outperforms it.
@@Trilobite-hz1zg it can’t legally ride any of those places. You can ignore the law and hope nobody bothers enforcing it against you, but it’s not a legally recognized vehicle so it’s no more permissible to ride on a bike path than a motorcycle, people are just more familiar with motorcycles and know they can’t be there and are likelier to have it enforced.
I'm starting to wonder where my upper limit is. I keep saying "no more" but then... I really need to know how fast they go. I can't not know! :-) -Paul
You said there was a firmware update in your review. So how would we apply a firmware update?? I'm really considering buying this but I don't understand.
Great review, as always. The weight is not that important because i lift extreme amounts of objects at the warehouse . Now, the top speed i might be tempted to hit 70 mph. Seriously, after work, getting to the trein is a hit or miss . Sometimes i make it other time, not. An by then its an hour wait for the next train . So this for me might curve my itch .
Why Emove didn't used Front fork? Like the Slick Core Superscooter and Weped and Segway GT2 and all motor cycles include Harley Davidson uses front fork.
Hi Paul, I've been watching your e-scooter reviews the last few days. I was just wondering HOW TALL ARE YOU? I'm 5'2" and dealing w/ shoulder problems, so the handlebar height is very important. THANK YOU for all the great reviews you do.
That didn't look incredibly stabile to me at those speeds, I think I'd pass on trying that, especially without full top shelf and a medical support crew! 😂 The RS still looks like the one to have for regular street use, especially given the price delta and true usable speed and handling. Honestly, at some point you have to ask yourself, how much faster do you really want to go on a stand up scooter??? 60 MPH is still way faster than any sane person will want to go, and even that is a ticket and a death wish waiting to happen!
Speed speed speed. At this point I wonder if in 2 years my WKGTP will be considered "slow" This was a good review, too bad you guys weren't able to find a 747 to race. I'm still chuckling at Voro touting it has a faster 0-60 time than a 747. That's gotta be the oddest thing they could have used to brag about how fast it is Somebody needs to put that claim to the test. Now that would be some video
They put out a $5,795 for a carbon fiber escooter, it uses kelly controllers and better cells than the ones dualtron uses (although I still want a production scooter with 40 amp cells), best 4 calliper brakes there is and motors that can sustain 15.5 kW. GET THIS THING IN GREECE IM BUYING IT YESTERDAY!
I'll race that with my Teverun Fighter Supreme Plus 7260R. 2,500W front and rear, 15000W max, 90A controllers, 4,320 WH SK Blade Battery, 13" puncture proof tires and 20lbs lighter. It should be close, but I predict I'd still win by a nose.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide lol , thanks. I just want you guys to review it as I enjoy your content and this scooter seems amazing for its price. Thanks !
Hey Paul, how is it compared to the Slack Core 920R. That thing is a documented 90mph scooter. I know those speeds are unusable for daily rides, not to mention the price. I remember at Riderfest that you talked to Jose, were you able to test it? If so, when is the review coming out?
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuideI see…..Quick question, what classifies as a “hyper” scooter? Anything that goes 70 mph and over 5k in price? I know the term “super” scooter gets tossed around a lot. Maybe, a video with regards to scooter “class” would be nice if you haven’t made one already.
To be fair, they are under new management now and seem to be shipping product, but there are still some folks who have been waiting a very long time! -Paul
It’s because motor power is a meaningless number, based on almost nothing. Peak power is a real number (assuming the manufacturers tell the truth about how many amps they can push. Peak power is max voltage x max amps x number of motors. So in this case 96.6V fully charged, x 80A per motor x 2 = 15,486W (we sometimes round to the nearest 500W when the numbers get this large). -Paul
RiderGuide how come all dont review phatmoto scooters? I think this company gets no love from anybody that do scooters review. I got 67 miles on the scooter with a full battery. I love this scooter man.
We’ll try to get our hands on one. The Roadster calculates out to have slightly higher peak power, and certainly much higher peak volts, so the Teverun may be close, but my best guess is that it is not faster than the Roadster. -Paul
Thanks so much! We didn't forget, it was just outside of the chart. Our BURN-E's came in 7th and 8th place on that list. 53.3 miles on our original BURN-E and 48 miles on our BURN-E 2 Max (smaller battery than the original). We haven't tested the 40ah version yet. -Paul
Of course, you can drain the battery even a dual tronics limited. You can drain the battery which I did last week at a 100 mile range at 23 miles an hour. Same thing on my ultra too. They can all drain the batteries if you decide to go as far as you can
True! I forgot about that. Top Speed always gets attention, but at some point will get the wrong kind of attention. We’re trying to move the focus from top speed to 0 - 30 times, partly because it’s getting scary to find out the top speeds. -Paul
Cool scooter, all most of us care about is price, speed, power and range. Should have bigger wheels, great brakes, comfort, ergonomics, and cost under 1500.
We range tested it. How fast were you going during your range test? We've only ever tested one scooter that could hit the 80 mile mark: the Dualtron X Limited at 86 miles, but it's battery is 5040Wh vs 2880Wh for the RS. So the X Ltd 75% more battery. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide that was my mode 1 range test, it's too cold where I am to try and do a real range test in mode 2 but I've gotten 50-60 miles the last time I was switching between mode 1 and 2..also I was riding on alot of dirt roads and I was constantly losing psi in my rear tire due to a puncture but I still got 80 miles letting my battery die down to 4%
If you're going very slow, you could do 80 mile range which I did the same thing. But I was limited down to about 21 miles an hour. If you're going super super fast on any scooter, even my doltrons, it doesn't matter. You're gonna lose range immediately the faster you go or you start doing hills
Paul, I have the same blood type, so if you end up in the hospital from that thing, and need a transfusion give me a call lol. All kidding aside, I appreciate that you point out that the 0-30mph speed is the real important stat for scooters. No one in their right mind would ride a scooter much over 40mph. There's just zero reason for it, and it begs law makers to crack down on scooters. How do these manufacturers imagine that lawmakers will view unlicensed vehicles with no mandatory safety check, and no mandatory safety equipment traveling at freeway speeds? Its ludicrous, and the manufacturers are aiming to put themselves out of business this way.
It's an amazing scooter. I was worried about riding it on Hwy 1 (coastal shots), but not only did it feel right at home, but cars were literally pulling over and letting me pass! (blue Tesla in the video was just one of them). -Paul

Then I average the eastbound and westbound runs together to cancel out the effect of headwind or tailwind. Single direction runs can be way way off, because even a 4 mph breeze makes you 4mph faster one direction and 4mph slower in the other. But that cancels out when we average the runs together. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide excellent
Paul BTW we have a 90 + MPH scooter about to hit the market could you test it? What's the process? Thanks for always replying the comments
No way you took it to Stinson beach. That’s where I get knee down in some corners on the motorcycle
We actually ran out of gas in teh 4Runner because the gas station in Bolinas went out of business! I rode the Roadster back out to Tamalpais Junction, got a couple gallons of gas, put the can in my backpack and was back super fast. It turns out that you're never really stranded when you're packing a fast scooter! -Paul
Does this have a sine or square wave controller?
Sine wave. -Paul
This thing is wild!
I'm looking forward to an Apollo Pro, that's more portable.
With a top speed of 52 MPH.
It’s Chuck!!!!
I really like how this scooter is a bigger more stable rion and faster Dualtron x. They studied both scooters to make the roadster 🔥
Yes! It's clear they spent some time riding other scooters and taking notes!
I'm super curious about your Noir. Let me know if you have a chance to do any 2 direction top speed runs! -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I think you’re confusing me with someone else lol. I don’t have a Rion, I’ve only seen videos about the scooter from Alien Rides TH-cam channel.
great video.keep up the good work💯
Thanks so much!
If you leave the motors locked can u still hit 20 to 25 mph in first gear or what was the top speed in 1st gear in general
This is something I’m not sure about. Ours arrived unlocked and I’m not sure how to lock it into lower speed mode. -Paul
12:30 cough cough Rion apex , lol you are right im still waiting on my rion apex and its been 2 years now.. ill be reviewing it on my channel then selling it to the highest bidder later
Good luck! I hope you get it soon! -Paul
I need one. That’s all there is to it great review as always.👏🏼🤘🏼
Thanks for your support, as always. :-)
-Paul
So, you don't need speed GPS, right?
Nowaday, the new display throttle speed is more accurate than the old display throttle.
We use a pro-grade data logger called a Vbox sport. It uses GPS, but then interpolates 20 times a second in between GPS pulses. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Cool! ❤
I LOVE this new direction you are going!!! And I'm SUPER HAPPY that you took the project from start to finish.. This looks amazing, what an amazing transformation, . Hope you continue to make videos like this about machines and technology that you usually have. Well done, the car is solid and has a lot of tangled wires. I'm planning to build a 3000w car that runs very strong😝🤑😝😵😜
Thanks for your support. -Paul
I think scooter companies should have two specific categories. Road & Off road. I say this because the high suspension off road capabilities of the Wolf GTR is hands down a winner.
Tubeless tires and split rims? How does that even work
I haven't taken them apart yet, but there is an o-ring down the middle. You can apparently also remove the rims from the motor as a unit (still fully inflated) , so you could swap different types of tires by unbolting the rims.
But for normal tire changes, you can just split the rims. Best of both worlds! -Paul
Hey, I’ve got a question about the roadsters motors.
What’s the question ?
@ can you tell me the letters and numbers on the side of the roaster,S motors? I build scooters and would love to try to use the roadsters motors as there most likely produced by a Chinese facotry
Hi,Paul
What’s the speed at which you turned the scooter in the video?
Which part ?
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuideThe section of the mountain ring road.

Please review and range test Dualtron Thunder 3
Thanks for the reminder! I’m really curious about the Thunder 3! We don’t have one coming, that I know of, but it’s the top of my list right now for Dualtrons that I’d like to test! -Paul
Do these need motorcycle plates?
No plates for scooters in the US. Laws vary by state (we made a video about how different states treat scooters a while back). In most states scooters are required to stay below 15 to 20 mph, but where we are, law enforcement seems to have better things to do than worry about how fast scooters are going, as long as the riders is being reasonable (not blasting past all of the cars, for example). -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I want to keep it legal but I want to go fast. Can I get a plate for them? Is there a title for these?
I dislike the fact it has carbon everywhere but the cable management is tiewraps. Otherwise it looks solid. 5:32.
IMO any scooter going over 50 mph should have 15" wheels, at least on the front wheel that is...🤔 Awesome review!!💯
That's a great idea. I really like the idea of asymmetrical wheels with a larger one on the front. -Paul
15" would be crazy big for a scooter imo. About 12" is probably the biggest reasonable size for an e-scooter, and that's already huge.
@@GreggsonWong maybe I'm wrong
I did once try a scooter with 12" wheels and I thought they were huge.
You can't ride a motorbike bike on foot or cycle path. This thing can ride on pavement, cyclepath and road as well. So it's more versatile.
@Nemonurwingy well I am mostly talking about people who don't care about law or live in a country which allows performance scooters.
This is awesome but I get sketched out hitting 40’s on my wolf warrior x 😂 idk how you do it Paul !
I'm starting to wonder where my upper limit is. I keep saying "no more" but then... I really need to know how fast they go. I can't not know! :-) -Paul
Question... How do you apply firmware updates? Is there an app?
No app yet!
Thanks for the info!
Why Emove didn't used Front fork? Like the Slick Core Superscooter and Weped and Segway GT2 and all motor cycles include Harley Davidson uses front fork.
🤷
Hi Paul, I've been watching your e-scooter reviews the last few days. I was just wondering HOW TALL ARE YOU? I'm 5'2" and dealing w/ shoulder problems, so the handlebar height is very important. THANK YOU for all the great reviews you do.
Hey Paul is about 5-11! Thanks
That didn't look incredibly stabile to me at those speeds, I think I'd pass on trying that, especially without full top shelf and a medical support crew! 😂
The RS still looks like the one to have for regular street use, especially given the price delta and true usable speed and handling. Honestly, at some point you have to ask yourself, how much faster do you really want to go on a stand up scooter??? 60 MPH is still way faster than any sane person will want to go, and even that is a ticket and a death wish waiting to happen!
Speed speed speed. At this point I wonder if in 2 years my WKGTP will be considered "slow"
This was a good review, too bad you guys weren't able to find a 747 to race. I'm still chuckling at Voro touting it has a faster 0-60 time than a 747. That's gotta be the oddest thing they could have used to brag about how fast it is
Somebody needs to put that claim to the test.
How much did you pay for your reverb fighter supreme though?
Official speed test says the teverun is slower and it's actually a poorly made scooter
7260R - Poorly engineered unstable deathtrap that needs two steering dampers and still apparently wobles...

Hey Paul, how is it compared to the Slack Core 920R. That thing is a documented 90mph scooter. I know those speeds are unusable for daily rides, not to mention the price. I remember at Riderfest that you talked to Jose, were you able to test it? If so, when is the review coming out?
Hey , we have not actually driven to slack yet
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuideI see…..Quick question, what classifies as a “hyper” scooter? Anything that goes 70 mph and over 5k in price? I know the term “super” scooter gets tossed around a lot. Maybe, a video with regards to scooter “class” would be nice if you haven’t made one already.
Peak Rides will have their next SLACK CORE 920R shipment in December! Would love to have the RG review happen!

Always good to see you in the comments! Thanks for your support! -Paul
First scooter to get a Doug score 😂
Im always confused by the peak power. Why is it so much more than the motors power and how is it calculated?
It’s because motor power is a meaningless number, based on almost nothing.
Peak power is a real number (assuming the manufacturers tell the truth about how many amps they can push.
Peak power is max voltage x max amps x number of motors. So in this case 96.6V fully charged, x 80A per motor x 2 = 15,486W (we sometimes round to the nearest 500W when the numbers get this large). -Paul
@RiderGuide this makes more sense. Thanks

Top Speed always gets attention, but at some point will get the wrong kind of attention. We’re trying to move the focus from top speed to 0 - 30 times, partly because it’s getting scary to find out the top speeds. -Paul

Idk where u got 43miles range for the RS I tested it personally and got 80 miles in range and could have got more if I didn't have a punctured tire.
We go a course of ups and downs , hills and real life conditions , on flats we would get much more.
