I have 45 day old fry. The Father is a Fighter Import from Thailand & the mother is a Crowntail from petsmart.

@@notnicc where do you think they all come from, a sound betta is a sound betta, regardless of who sold it, it doesn't follow that a directly imported one, an imported one via eBay reseller, a locally tank bred f1 of an imported one, imported one via LFS, or imported one via Petco are going to be good or bad breeding stock in particular, and there's no 'messed up' like in guppies, you'd just sell the fry as pets and move him on to a more suitable female. I have hellboy plakat fry that have two 'good' imported lines, chosen very carefully, and I have two crowntails I am very fond of both purchased at my local fish store, beautiful, healthy, well conditioned, and anxious to breed, and I let them have a spawn, and they are all treated with the same love and care, even if they don't have the same 'value' to all.
@@voluntaryismistheanswer this is an old comment and I see what you are talking about but why breed a nice fighter with a regular fish from petco, totally ruin the bloodline. But also as you said it will be a good fish reguardless

I'm a first time betta breeder and have never bred betta fish I've tried last week about 2 times and both times my male ate the eggs 😕I went on youtube and did research and landed up on Dexter's channel 😲it took me 1 week to condition to spawn and to hatch I successfully hatched my first ever baby betta fry 😍thanks so much man keep up the good content
Same thing happened to me, i bred them 2 times but the male ate all eggs and then i contacted a breeder and asked for help. He sent me some good female half moon plakats and told me to condition them for 2 weeks. I did so and my spawn was successful

I aged my water for only 24hrs then I transfer them. No casualties. The right temp and tannins from almond leaves are important. 2.5 months in and I only lost 5 betta fry.

Have you ever thought of making net baskets and placing them in the big tank and do the whole pairing and let the male build his nest inside the net basket and when they are ready to be transfered just removing the net? I did that and had huge success

Love the show Dexter ! Is that for de-encapsulated brine shrimp eggs chock full of nutrients but keep them dry :) . Do you think it would help if you drip acclimated the babies then they'd get the temp and the same water chemistry?

Hi Sir Dexter! I just recently watched your videos and just got hooked with videos about betta Caresheet and breeding, I just want to ask what do you consider when buying Fighting Fishes? I'm planning to go to again in Cartimar in Pasay (Stalls of Petshops) and try to buy some pairs, Asked before the price ranges from P250 to P1000 but I don't know if the P1000 is not the same quality as the P250. I don't want to get scammed. Thanks :) Hope you can make videos about this.

take an egg yolk and dissolve it into a spray bottle with a cup of water keep it in the fridge and spray a couple sprits over fry daily

as soon as needed gabs. We just give small amount of food enough for the day to prevent water pollution. if you will see he fry not healthy better siphone the dirt and add small amount of water equivalent to the amount of water you drained
