Three-Part fugue in C minor. In this case the subject simply appeared in my mind (without effort), I liked it and I wrote it down in a notebook, I don't know if it already exists.
Playback: Musescore 3
Soundfont: Christian Zell 1737 + Jeux 1.4

The inversion dropped perfect!
Thank you Tomasz!
this is so good i can already smell Bach's scent in this fugue
so pleasing to listen to, this is so lovely :) especially the way you use the chromatic scale motif introduced in the subject throughout is so beautiful and unique.
Thank you!
So I just wanted to ask that why is this semitone scale used so often in fugues? (See for example the famous royal theme.) Is it somehow easier to arrange the rest of the notes around that? Thanks.
@@whoknowsthefuturethe descending chromatic motif is called the lamento, and it is a commonly used theme (often in the bass) and has many established harmonizations and counterpoints.
Absolutely exceptional fugue. Not over complicated and perfect. One of your best in a while! 🧡👏
Thanks Joshua!
Despite this is a baroque-like fugue I like this descendent late renaissance-like chromatic passage. I came up with a very good fugue here. Congrats.
Thank you!
Wow!! The chromatic motif reminds me of Bach's fuga in D minor from WTK book 2
I can memorize yor name from te Latin and Romanic word for "I sing", also because of these three voices are singing! Bravo! You sing on the keyboard!
absolutely stunning ! I love how you introduced the inverted subject
Thank you!
Very pleasing! I would love to hear a live recording of this.
Complimenti. Molto interessante il tema e il suo sviluppo.
That was absolutely fantastic. Can't believe a 2 minute fugue in 3 parts had me stank-facing and "ugh!"-ing by the time the inverted theme came in, well done. I wish I could write music like this.
Also, first 4 notes of the theme are identical to JS Bach's "Wenn Meine Trübsal Als Mitt Ketten" but a tone higher, definitely recommend a listen for a fantastic piece for SAB soloists from that cantata, BWV 38 (of course, it's ALL good)

Thanks, I guess stank-facing is a good thing!
Un nuovo Bach! Grazie!
Musical offering vibes… congrats!
Thank you Wilson! I guess it's because of the chromatic fourths.
Nice, I like the melodic inversion of the subject, well done! Also a couple of nice faux stretto points!
Thank you!
Wow!
Awesome
Very nice!
Thank you Taki! Cheers!
bravo
THIS IS AMAZING
Thank you!
The beginning of the subject reminded me of the b minor fugue subject from the WTC
Bravissimo Roman! 👏👏👏👏
Thanks Davide!
Gracias Andres!
Reminds me of Fugue in B minor from Well-tempered Clavier book 1.
And Fugue in C minor from Book 2.
00:19 *Recordé la “Allemande” K.399 de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Muy buena obra.*
Gracias, esa no la había escuchado.
An almost identical pattern is featured in a fugue by Mozart. It's one with an ascending chromatic subject, I believe it was in G minor
Extremely well done, you probably best 21st century student of JSB and the others before him! I want to learn from you how you make a counterpoint, especially one to a chromatic scale. We all are late students s of JSB and his contemporaries and the others before him, like Sweelinck and others, who are interested in the maqtter of polyphony and fugues. Thank you thousand times!
El fuga que inspiro a Johann Sebastian Bach sus BWV 871.
Bach would be pleased.
¡Qué bonito! ¡Muy bac(hi)ano!
BaCano!
It would be really interesting to present your subject to Bach himself and see what he would do with it, using the same number of voices
Very nicely done
Hut ab!
sounds like the fugue from bwv 875
More like BWV 871
Very nice! The inverted entries are particularly good! One question though: how is one supposed to play the alto F in bar 35 while the soprano voice is a minor tenth above and the bass is two octaves below? Being an organist I could just cheat and use pedal couplers there but on the harpsichord I fear I’d do myself an injury!
I fixed that issue months ago in the sheet music in the description. I simply transposed the bass one octave higher up to bar 39.
Hey, I realize that I might come over as some kind of fraud, but back around 15 years ago when I studied musicology I wrote a fugue over almost the same subject. A lot worse than this version as I was still learning. As you said, it just appeared in my head at some point, so I think it exists somewhere out there, I just still have not found it.
Interesting. 🤔
The beginning of the subject is very similar to fugue 14 in F-sharp minor from WTC book 2, BWV 883
Hi, how do you make these videos? I'd like to upload my own.
subject has resemblence to final fugue of wtc1 ( bminor ) regardless, nice fugue
It is such a common subject head that Bach used it again in bwv 883. Handel also used it in the concerto grosso no 3, to mention a few examples.
I’m jealous and now ashamed of my jealousy over your hard work. That was dope. I’ve been trying to figure out how to write a fugue for years and I just hit a wall every time and scrap it but it’s great to hear what happens when you don’t give up ✊🏾
It happens to me sometimes too. Just keep doing your thing.
Update: I bought the piece using your link and had a quick play through it! A few parts like bar 18-19 are not very fluid due to repeating notes in different hands, but the only major issue is that the chord on the last beat of bar 35 is absolutely not possible to play, not for me anyways! Still, amazing work, sounds awesome!
Ok, I've decided to fix those issues for the keyboard version, it should now be playable without a problem. You should have received an email with the update. I also added the open format version for string trio. Thanks!
@@namor_onac oh thank you so much! I mistakenly thought it was supposed to be for keyboard due to the 2 stave score! thank you so much for re-arranging it for me!
@@lolbruh1170 thanks for your opinion mate but like almost every other commenter here strongly disagrees with you so...
Similar to bwv 951
Bwv 883
Bwv 869
Yes, both of them are very similar.
Very beautiful cano.
U seem to me Bach's reincarnated.
Please I would love to message you but the link I saw was invalid.
I have one of Bach's chorales recordings which I love so much but I couldn't find the name of the chorale.
Are you on WhatsApp so I can send it to you?
You should study scriabin.
Why?
@@namor_onac it'll make you a better composer
