Most people would call this woman talanted, wich she is, no doubt, but more than that. To learn everything she knows you need effort and dedication. Congratulations! You could take a look at Ernesto Nazareth, he was a really good brazilian composer, just leaving the recomendation :)
Thanks for this video, I am currently trying to write a song in this style, but it is a little hard to me, I am more familiarize to classical and romantic music, again than you so much by this video
@@deinstitutionemusica I will search. Thank you! The most of music books are just theory and not applied for compositions and i know is important study composition techniques for not to depend only on inspiration.
Question from Music theory C student... what was the differing aproaches to writing between Palastrina, and Machaut? Palastrina always seems bright and clean like a doughnut, and Machaut always seems thick and rich, like refrigerated honey
This is really really good. Thank you for making this. I am dying to see you complete and perform the piece. Will you mak a follow up video?

@DentelloRomanticComposer1820s I'm glad the video was helpful!
Very nice and clear lesson. But the which note should we have at the end in alto? G# or B?
Both G# and B is possible!
The alto voice could also have a pause and then start the next imitation, while soprano and tenor make the cadence.
If you want the music seems seamless, alto can pause, and then start something, and other voice follow
Wow!
What software do you use for composing?
Thanks! I use MuseScore 3. It's free and good!
@@deinstitutionemusica thanks!
How do you put the numbers under the staves in Musescore?
Either ctr. + L in order to add Text or ctr. + G to add figured bass numbers
I would like to compose easily and with my more technique like that. Can you recommend any book or something to learn?
I think Peter Schubert wrote a nice book in english about counterpoint of the 16th century.
Thanks for watching!

Machaut and Palestrina are two very different composers, from different centuries and countries. So I guess your description fits well :-D
