Great vlog from soldier Christine! Shì Bīng Christine LOL Wow, you know a lot about the Great Wall! Thanks for the info and Chinese lesson. I visited in 2015. It's way more crowded now!

So many things to learn and discuss with our "Mulan" . I can see your annoyance with the crowd, I've found that hostels know tracks to take you to unique quiet spots of the wall. I think there are dozens of idioms as no other than for the great wall but my favourite I'll share with you in English. "Only the stones of the wall know what rain and wind it had to endure"
I tried to tell you guys as many things I know as possible😊. For my parents, we take the cable cars up, probably that’s why it’s so crowded in the place where we visited on the Great Wall. Oh wow thank you for telling me this idiom. What does it indicate?
Basically straightforward kind of idiom, that it's history is so long that only its own bricks/stones know how much blood it has seen along with nature of wind and rain what the soldiers and people who were there what they have done. @@chinesewithchristine1876
@@chinesewithchristine1876 It sounds better than "fish eyes" although we have those big round eyes like a fish, but the general face of a fish is very unkissable.
This trip seems strange because years I took a taxi and it dropped me beside the wall and I climbed right on the wall, no line up, no crowds, only small groups of Chinese toursts were there also. Maybe taxi drivers have some secret routes to get up to the wall.
There are two ways to get up to the Great Wall. One is what you mentioned. The other is with the cable car. Coz we have parents together. They are old so we don’t want them to walk too much. We chose the cable car to get up
@@chinesewithchristine1876 When I was on the wall, for a joke I kept looking out over the wall saying out loud " I don't see any Mongols, I don't see any Mongols. Eventually a Chinese man said "Mongolia is on the other side of the wall, you are looking towards the China side of wall." Ooops.
In English it is called the Great Wall, but in mandarin it is only called Long Wall. Is it that the Chinese are being modest that it is just long but not great. I would rename it, Super Spectacular Long Wall
Not many people know it, but the emperor's ministers advised the emperor that building the wall was too expensive and time consuming but the emperor argued that although this was true, he insisted that someday it would be a great tourist attraction. So wise were these emperors!!!
No, you got it wrong. The Great Wall was built by Chinese people in ancient time to protect against the nomadic people like Mongolian and Turks etc. These were enemies back in the ancient time, so how come the enemies helped to build the Great Wall to fight against themselves?
@@chinesewithchristine1876 The Emperor told tbe Mongolian laborers that the Wall, was just a tourist attraction. It was only after the wall was built that the Mongolians realized that there were no stairs on the Mongolian side. The Emperor just said it was the engineers mistake. So sorry.!
@@wavygravy1945 I don’t know where you got this ridiculous version of the history. But I really suggest that you should learn the authentic history especially of the other countries. But I can understand that you have limited materials to learn about the other countries’ authentic history. So somehow, your ignorance of this part of Chinese history can be understandable.

视频还不错,
有几处介绍,可能是口误,帮美女修正一下:
1、长城总长2万多千米,不是2万多千里;
2、7分35秒左右,介绍唐朝那一段,应该是秦朝,公元前200多年,秦朝修建了1万千米的长城,为了抵御匈奴。
你好细心!谢谢你嘿嘿
