My favourite thing about the craftworld of Zandros is that they have a unique aspect warrior shrine: the Terrifying Slicing Orbs. And that's all we know.

I think it really exemplified the power and might of the eldar and how they once ruled the entire galaxy. Their fight against Tyranids are incredible too. The Tyranids managed to block all the security measures of a craftworld, the psychic foresight of the eldar, and any defenses in place, suck up the infinity circuit the using knowledge it gained by millenia of dealing with infinity circuits, then used their own psychic might against them, I mean brilliantly written. Oh and remember that time a squad of spacewolves, must of been at least 10, wiped out an entire craftworld of probably a few hundred thousand without breaking a sweat, lmao, talk about ending up in the wrong neighborhood am I right. But never forget, these incredible beings of power and wisdom once ruled the entire galaxy and are still a force to be reckoned with. Also never forget that the race that renamed themselves 'children of asuryan' who are mythically actually children of Isha, decided to live a life walking the paths of Khaine........genuises.

Dying is relative. The Imperium has millions of worlds, with populations on most of them that dwarf a craftworld. They can also replace that population far faster. That, and a lot of the ones you mentioned were decimated, if not destroyed. But either way, much more dead than before and continuing to become more dead, there for dying.
I haven’t played 40k in 20 years. I played Eldar before WD 127 came out and we got Aspect Warriors. I’ve started looking into the lore and painting a little again (finding minis I owned 20 years ago at a thrift was quite the catalyst), and I’m pretty frustrated with how little live the space elves have gotten over the years. In Rogue Trader I kicked Marine ass all day long with them, until that pesky WD 127 came out. And I see many of the same models I played with still being used, and minimal lore despite them being as close to human as any race could be… Glad to see you’re a fellow elf-lover. Even if you are upside down.
There is one that I just learned about: Zaithusra. Their Infinity Circuit got effed and they were so far out at the time... that they thought it was a great idea to get Genestealered to stave off Slaanesh. Even had a four-armed Avatar, apparently.
Well, of course they nearly crushed a craftworld, the space marines had guardsman with them, the best fighting force in the universe, with unbreakable flak vests and god-tier lasguns.

Pretty sure the craft worlds are welsh/Celtic inspired. Biel-tan and Sam-Hain are both modified versions of Celtic holiday names. One of the forge world wraith knights is named Scathach, a character from the Ulster Cycle.

Truly, spectacular use of foresight.

Dying is relative. The Imperium has millions of worlds, with populations on most of them that dwarf a craftworld. They can also replace that population far faster. That, and a lot of the ones you mentioned were decimated, if not destroyed. But either way, much more dead than before and continuing to become more dead, there for dying.

I haven’t played 40k in 20 years. I played Eldar before WD 127 came out and we got Aspect Warriors. I’ve started looking into the lore and painting a little again (finding minis I owned 20 years ago at a thrift was quite the catalyst), and I’m pretty frustrated with how little live the space elves have gotten over the years. In Rogue Trader I kicked Marine ass all day long with them, until that pesky WD 127 came out. And I see many of the same models I played with still being used, and minimal lore despite them being as close to human as any race could be…

The eldars are fine. That means one of the crusading fleets hasn't been doing their jobs.
There is one that I just learned about: Zaithusra. Their Infinity Circuit got effed and they were so far out at the time... that they thought it was a great idea to get Genestealered to stave off Slaanesh. Even had a four-armed Avatar, apparently.

There are 5 major craftworlds (i.e. Saim-Hann), a dozen minor craftworlds (i.e. Altansar), and scores of doomed (lost) craftworlds (i.e. Malan'tai).

Pretty sure the craft worlds are welsh/Celtic inspired. Biel-tan and Sam-Hain are both modified versions of Celtic holiday names. One of the forge world wraith knights is named Scathach, a character from the Ulster Cycle.
Some of the names are, but the similarities end there.

Then there was the time Ulthwe had a vision about the Night Lords prophet leading the legion to fuck over the Craftworld, and decided to go kill him. Prophet Talos and his company hadn't even considered going after the Eldar, and the survivors got mad, recruited, and then Decimus the new NL prophet made from the last one's gene seed started rallying Night Lords to go fuck over Ulthwe as revenge. Truly, spectacular use of foresight.
