@@Victor-z7t6q I know how hard it is to stop even as someone who was not let's say "addicted" to the drink. But I also know people who have struggled as alcoholics and yet have managed to give it up and go sober. Be strong and believe in the power of will. If you truly want to quit the drink and better yourself and improve your quality of life and your overall health, then you can do it. And also be willing to sacrifice certain friendships if you realize that they are only keeping you in the grips of addiction. Good luck and God bless.

Well done. You don't need luck. Because as addicts or in recovery , we know deep inside, we can't do 1 more time, we can't stop. Stay around good positive people, don't link with anyone who you associated with what you took.
It's about you, sometimes that little 👿 will try and trick us, it's just being aware of that....

Billy I’ve been watching you for a while now and im 55 and drank heavy for 30 + years and worked I managed to cover it up like I guess a lot of people do who are alcoholics we are in self denial that it’s that bad , my dad came over from Dublin back in the early 50s to Liverpool and settled in Manchester and like most Irish families alcohol was used a lot as a social thing , I seen a lot of drunkenness mainly good in the family and at funerals my god they were like a full weekend event but that’s how it is , anyway I’m 55 and have been drinking for 30+ years and watching your vlogs over the last couple of years gave me the inspiration and motivation to slowly build myself up to finally stop I stopped 33 days ago and not touched a drop since and yeh it’s a daily battle but I’m winning, I’ve lost family relationships and had my children look at me as if I was some kind of low life when I was drunk but now it’s time to change and it’s never to late billy and I just want to thank you for that inspiration to make me do it 👍

Yes Billy lad... As always great content... This one was all about recovery and those people n organisations who play a huge part in recovery services... It's so vital that people out there know that there is a better way to live your life... I'm a mixed bag of BPD... This condition has taken me through some very dark times n yes I was using Recovery in Middlesbrough for over 18 months... But I'm also a born again Christian n my faith is my bedrock... Today I'm very grateful and proud of where I am today... Clean n sober for over 4 months... It's a case of one day at a time and taking full responsibility for my actions....i am completely locked in and know that I don't need any substances in my body and a clean n sober life is the best life... I also believe a small circle is a peaceful life. My son is gonna be 5 soon and it's about me being the best version of me n being a good father n dad to him... TRUE FREEDOM N REAL LOVE N PEACE IS ONLY FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST... NOT RELIGION OR RITUALS BUT A REAL HEART RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD... GOD BLESS BILLY AND THANKS 4 READING MY RATHER LONG MESSAGE... THANKS 💯

Great vid Bill. I was in the old Holiday Inn paradise street late eighties and George Best was staying there had a beer with him in the bar and bought him a beer. He was absolutely destroyed at the bar but a very pleasant man and I’m glad I got to meet him and talk about football. So Very Sad Alcohol eventually killed him.
    I hardly drink now.

Fantastic cause, I come from this, Mum was a drinker then became a chronic alcoholic after my step dad committed suicide and from then on life was hell, left home at 15yrs old, got caught up in the raving scene in the 90s which were great times. Into the 00's and I'm drinking like an idiot and by then I'm a full on a alcoholic (it's a creeper, before you know it you're a secret squirrel). 2 little'uns by 2007.
NYD, 2010 I decided enough is enough and threw the booze in the bin, 2024 and I've not drunk one sip since, end of this year I'm 15yrs dry. Everyone's story and journey is different but we're all fighting the same demons that sit on each shoulder trying to push us over the edge.
Be strong, only you can give up the booze for yourself not for other people.

I'd just like to correct you Bill on the non alcoholic drink. They do help. I'm currently drinking Pearlenbacher from Lidl as I've been bashing the booze too much recently. It satisfies and wets the whistle while tricking the brain into thinking you're drinking. Don't discount it as an aid to transition from the habit of just drinking. 3 weeks I've been having some bottles of these of a night and I'm not getting any urge to buy proper cans. Great video was hoping you'd get an award but you know your award comes from all your subscribers who really appreciate your content and shing a light on the darkest part of our community. 👍👍🙏

Great video! The 24/7 party lifestyle has been acceptably personified within UK subcultures and the entertainment industry, filtered down through decades of community and living the good life, at any end of the wage spectrum. Surrounded oneself with different groups of DJ collectives absorbing that acceptable addictive lifetstyle that went with it, everything is evident now with health problems or worse. Health over wealth.
