I know I'm late to the party and all, but I want to point out that the shoes that Akame wears are literally describes as being filed with holes and being tattered, and since the purpose of a shoe is to protect your feet from... well... things, Perhaps the emphasis on his shoes could be a representation of his crippled mental barrier, as it has been worn and tattered other the many days that he has lived.

I'm a new fan, from out of Japan so i mostly be vibing to the music instead of wanting to understand the lyrics, which is very difficult and enigmatic coming from japanese. I love this song soooo much and the MV too! But I've never noticed anything like that, the meaning is so powerful, i can't believe it, it's amazing! I put the speed 0.75x (one reason to that is cause you speak very fast and your accent is hard for me to understand, even though I speak English jdjkejfkd), so i could pay attention to your words and to the video at the same time. Initially I thought it was about a parent who’s child died and did everything they could to stop the pain from years since their child’s passing. The child would’ve drowned in some way or another and on their anniversary the parent would be reminded about how they died through the washing machines.
Another amazing video!!! I loved this song so much, and the animation was incredible. One thing i really liked also is that one scene near the end, where on the wall there are posters of some characters, one of them is Rei from the manga. It just made me really happy since, if i'm not mistaken, we haven't seen him in any eve mvs yet. Other than that, your explanation was so good!!! I'll be waiting for the next vid!!
I had wondered with the fans being seen as bad and deadly, if it had any reference to Fan Death, the myth that fans suck breath away and kill people. (something like that)
The fan represents white noise that connects trauma to reality. People with severe trauma can hear fighting and violence in white noise or silence. All three are one person. They are his ghosts. They seek to be in control and have to find balance as they are all one. The real trick to this story is far more sad. Swim or you will die. But how can you swim if 2/3rds of you wants you to die.
Also the eyes of the moth are just as in life. They are meant to scare off predators. Both ghosts are protectors aswell as weights. They ruin his mind as he spins through each ghosts life. His lives. They are all so different from who he is that it can only be described as being haunted or possessed. The only way to bring peace was as it always was. The reunification of three people from three different times with wildly different interests and intentions. But only one ghost would ever allow that. So. 66 percent of ghosts find peace lol. There is also a deeper hierarchy in these figures. Their size indicates their place. The tall dark adult scorn by life. The young man trying to survive caught between them. And the child who wants to save him.
I liked the first comment. I can see the ghost concept but eve already uses zingais in his mvs and manga which is a manifest of emotions from a person.

Adding on to the conclusion (although it’s probably pretty obvious lol): The way the the fans blades stop spinning symbolizes that he’s stopped spiraling into depression for now thanks to those hopeful butterflies of change, but the fact that the fans remained instead of disappearing into butterflies means that there will always be a possibility of him spiraling into depression again.

Sent this to the music video but I thought people coming here would get a kick out of this I wanted to make a full explaination but I got pretty lazy so here is the first 30 seconds or so interpurted by me the song has a strong wind theme which I will come back to later, all you need to know for now is that artifical wind (such as those that come from fans) are portrayed as negative, associated with the shadow and the natural winds are always portrayed in a positive light (such as with the pinwheels associated with the white child.) the video starts with snakes forming E ve's name, soon we will see that the snakes are associated with the shadow so this alludes to the fact that E ve hasn't let his animators out of the basement for a long time. Jokes aside the first words in the song are kind of depressing if the translations are anything to go by. "I lived another day, how many years does it make" the main character isn't under the shadow's effect as we later see the fans are off, but he isn't in a good place either, there isn't a single thing to show natural wind in the music video as of yet. Later verse just tells us that the character isn't living his true self and is kind of tired of it. Yeah it's me captian obvious howdy. The my eyes spin line though is interesting, there is no translator's note for this so I assume it is not an idiom meaning something else. Spining in this video relates to extreme emotions as we will see later, this may tell us that he can not hide his feelings from others, as when two people talk eye contect is important, in this analogy if you look at the protagonist's eye, you will see his intense emotion. the next couple shots are really important to put out metaphors in place. The first thing we see is a foggy window with no handle to open, it is a way to the outside but there is no way to reach it. This shows the protagonist's mind seeing happiness outside but never reaching it, it's a false hope to even try. The hanging clothes continue to show there is no wind, nothing else. then we see a couple of pills, now. this may be an allusion to drug use but due to other themes I believe what we see is a psychiatric drug, and we can confirm this, these are lithium carbonate pills used to treat bipolar disorder. a quick google search will show that there are red and yellow caps for pms litium carbonate pills of 150mg .
nice pick up the wind association. I see where you're going with the eyes (no pun intended) maybe need to tighten that interpretation I can see how its to do with extreme emotion. That works well. very nice interpretation of the window! pills can be drugs but the type of pill is hard to find exactly.
