I think M2 is like Roy, where he's certainly not traditionally "good", but has a solid enough punish into spacies that a good enough player could semi-viably counterpick him against Fox/Falco and not be throwing. Like if Leffen picked M2 into someone's Fox in bracket, it'd be a gamble, but wouldn't be a *throw* imo.
you make mewtwo look very viable bro. Been loving how people are giving other characters a shot in Melee. AMSA going off with Yoshi, DK getting more representation, and now I see combo videos of insane mewtwo gameplay. This is the kind of stuff that will keep the game alive for longer. Amazing stuff.
M2 has a couple grandmasters I think. There's definitely a M2 community pushing the character. Hopefully we'll see more tourney runs frim them in a few years
nah, amsa reached his peak (big house was a one in a million event), dk will never get more than fringe upsets and semi good placements with bracket luck as he's incredibly one dimensional, all the low tiers will continue to remain low tiers, deeper runs are just somewhat more common now because slippi allows everyone to be a sweat, but once like any low tier like link or something becomes a tourney threat top players will just learn the MU and solve the problem. Sad, but its how it is
@bito782 Mid tiers are viable. Even a few of the low tiers can be considered viable in the right hands (Mewtwo, Roy, G&W, DK and the Links). It all depends on the player and how far the human limit can be pushed. If you went back 10 years and told the community that a solo Pikachu, Yoshi and Falcon all won majors they'd laugh at you. Just give the game another 20 years, it will never stop evolving so long as players are playing. If a good enough player goes on the ONE perfect run then history is written forever.
