Happened to recently have a chance to play through this game a little during a convention. And though I originally had severe doubts over the direction of the art style. I can now say I personally think it's gorgeous. It works so well alongside the 3DS and its three-dimensional capabilities. And upon viewing this trailer, it seems we're in for another stunning entry to the Legend Of Zelda series :3
One thing I've noticed about Nintendo's in house franchises is that the graphics tend to be more stylized than they are "HD." I really appreciate the way Nintendo experiments with different mediums like paper mario or toon link, kirby's epic yarn or even the crayon-look of yoshi's island. I know others probably prefer more realistic graphics, but for me, style is far more important and it's something the big n does extremely well. Will definitely be picking up a copy of this game!
Who else thinks that instead of using toon link again for the newest young version of link in the new smash bros. coming out that they should use this link instead? You know? Keep the tradition of using different young links per smash bros. games alive that started with Melee? I think it would be a good idea. Who else thinks it would as well?
Fun fact: The main theme of this game is (partially) the ALTTP Hyrule Castle theme played in reverse. I have a video on my channel showing this, but I can't link to the proof directly.
it also makes you feel awesome when you discover a new item and your anticipating what your e gnna get in each dungeon so this completely takes away that joy
I would actually love if there is a feather item to jump in this game, like in LA and OoS. It's a classic handheld Zelda item that would feel right at home with this game and its platforms.
Well in the gameboy games it was fairly standard to have the roc's wing or the cape that allowed you to jump/fly (can't remember the name of the item in minish cap)
Replaying A Link to the Past for the hype of this. I was surprised that I got to the Dark World in one sitting when it took me ages as a kid. I blame Moldorm.
I never had any doubts....it looked awesome from day 1 and i've been waiting for this game for almost 20 years. Nintendo is going to have a massive 4th quarter.
I mean I somewhat agree that the older zelda games used each dungeon to progress along with each new ability/item you got (ie. When you got Roc's feather in Oracle of Ages, the next dungeon would revolve around that item), But I still think Nintendo will pull it off in a way that keeps the classic zelda anticipation while giving freedom of choice.
Actually it is a bit of a unique meter. It consists of magic, stamina AND ammunition. It depletes when you use magic, fire your bow (there are no arrows in this game), and merge with the wall. Automatically refills though, so that's good! :)
Direct sequel = something that follows on directly from the plot of the previous game. This doesn't follow on from Link to the Past directly, it' set 100 years after, but takes place in the same world, and uses the same type of ideas and game play.
Anybody noticed when Link upgrades the bow at the top right is some sort of "secret seashell" counter? This game takes place after Link's Awakening so it might be a little easter egg in itself or a completely new item, Who knows? :o
I am so glad that they kept the upgrade system from Skyward Sword. It was cool on that game and I hope the upgrades for the weapons are as cool as that game. Can't for this game to come out!
Well, it's remixed, orchestrated and possibly even a mash-up ..but I'm most certain it's got the Hyrule field theme from OoT. Just listen carefully. Find the original one on youtube as well. I know OoT's theme is a vague remix of the original's, but what I hear after ~1:33 resembles it the closest. It's not that unlikely. In the previous trailer I believe, Yuga's theme very much resembles Skull Kid's theme from MM, what with the twisted-sounding horns and all.
Oh believe me, I will! Pre ordered collector's edition other day! And a lot of gameplay videos have been released but its hard to not watch them because I don't want to spoil the game D:
Same! Might just save up some money and buy the new one and system transfer my old one to the new one, There's only one thing I'm worried about and that is if I miss the mailman and have to pick it up the next day D:
hope it has new bosses.all i seen so far is moldorm and trinixx.hope they throw in some twinrova of volvagia or something even more awesome.cant freakin wait for this game.this is like my 5th time watching these trailers.
I've been a looooong time Zelda fan, so I'm always pumped when a new Zelda is about to be released, but I'm particularly excited about this one. It's filled with action (something that was lacking on previous DS Zeldas), and I'm under the impression that this one is a bit harder (this is definitely a plus).
the wall drawing transformation is weird but theres a reason.. but i do love the air camera angle, least i’ll know where to run if i see the baddies in the room come at me... like-a boss.😂
It's a direct sequel to that game, and a lot of the SFX are very similar or identical. Including the starter house, and Hyrule. A lot of it is purposely nostalgic. :)
Aww man, That does sound exciting, I'd love a remake of that game but still, the topic is Link between Worlds and this game is gunna be freaking awesome! Hope I do find this little secret but my guess is you have to merge with the walls in a certain area which you probably would never consider merging with to at least find this secret so goodluck to us all on finding it!
Kind of. I've played the NSMB games, and they're all sort of the same to me. I have a Wii U and plan to get Mario 3D World when it comes out. Actually, it's the game I'm most looking forward to right now!
I never said that LTTP wasn't fun. I said that it wasn't fun to /watch/. Which may be why it wasn't included. And enemies can /totally/ be puzzles. Take most of the enemies (both old and new) in Skyward Sword. You can integrate action and puzzle/strategy fairly easily.
It's strongly believed that the Link of LttP is the one going through OoA/S and Link's Awakening. And knowing this one takes many years after the events. It's still rational for him to not be seeing it as a direct sequel per se.
Many people complain about the art style of the game... I think it's awesome. A Link to the past is one of the best Zelda games, I love the way they have remastered the world.
Nintendo please please release The original Link to the Past on virtual console 3ds it would get everybody so pumped and it would make for an incredible profit
Looks to be one of the best Mario's since Mario 64. I liked the others but they felt like I was just going through the motions. Sunshine didn't feel like a follow up to main, galaxy... Wiimote enough said. But 3d land was great. This looks better than Mario 64, can it beat Mario World on SNES? ... Can't wait to find out!
1. Not sure I can come up with a platformer pre-PS1 that's about avoiding the enemies instead of fighting them. 2. Nintendo probably didn't bother adding a lot of non-boss combat because the combat in top-downs is pretty boring to watch or that they are intending to include enemies that require strategies that are in themselves puzzles that Nintendo didn't want to spoil.
I would really hope if you complete the game, or get 100%, you would be able to play the original A Link to the past from the SNES. Like what the ALTTP Gba Port featured, ALTTP and Four swords.
Are you into Mario games at all? The 3DS has some good ones, such as Mario kart 7, Super Mario 3D land, and New Super Mario Bros 2. I have all of them, and I think they are great.
Is the boss of Turtle Rock going to be... a rocky turtle?
I've been watching this trailer for an hour and still not get tired.
It's perfect.
Haha me too lmao

Miguel he is cuter looking... i like his animation better.
Miguel
Toon Link is my main, so no.
Fun fact: The main theme of this game is (partially) the ALTTP Hyrule Castle theme played in reverse. I have a video on my channel showing this, but I can't link to the proof directly.
I think A Link to the Past will eventually make it to the eShop. As some other older console games are.
Soooooo excited!!! Literally JUST pre-ordered this game!!! I love The Legend Of Zelda soooo much!!! Totally the best game series I've EVER played!!!
I agree
I agree
The way he goes into the wall reminds me of Contrast
The song that plays when showing off the dungeon levels is the Hyrule Castle theme from ALttP in reverse
it also makes you feel awesome when you discover a new item and your anticipating what your e gnna get in each dungeon so this completely takes away that joy
So happy I have the limited edition 3DS XL preordered for this.
THAT DAMN GOLD 3DS XL I WANT BUT I ALREADY HAVE THE ANIMAL CROSSING EDITION
that song that was the entire middle of the trailer.
I really really like it.
I would actually love if there is a feather item to jump in this game, like in LA and OoS.
It's a classic handheld Zelda item that would feel right at home with this game and its platforms.
Here's the video's audio in reverse: Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - Music Easter Egg
You know, I like how they're reusing the classic Link design. It's a nice throwback to the game's roots.
Well in the gameboy games it was fairly standard to have the roc's wing or the cape that allowed you to jump/fly (can't remember the name of the item in minish cap)
That 3ds xl bundled with the game is so pretty!
Preordered already. Can't wait to play this Game.
Just preorder my 3dsXL Zelda bundle!!!
So exited!!
Gimme the collectors edition game too!
I want that treasure chest!
If you reverse the music from 0:33 - 1:26, you get the castle theme!
awesome.OOT had some of the greatest bosses.i hope to see some returns here but ill be satisfied with whatever is thrown at me.16 days left.
The music is amazing. Preordered already, can't wait!
How did you end up enjoying the game?
I mean I somewhat agree that the older zelda games used each dungeon to progress along with each new ability/item you got (ie. When you got Roc's feather in Oracle of Ages, the next dungeon would revolve around that item), But I still think Nintendo will pull it off in a way that keeps the classic zelda anticipation while giving freedom of choice.
Preordered my Zelda 3DS XL the other day! Excited!!

Anyone notice that when he got the rupees at the end it had the same sound effect as the classic Zelda a link to the past.
I am so glad that they kept the upgrade system from Skyward Sword. It was cool on that game and I hope the upgrades for the weapons are as cool as that game. Can't for this game to come out!

I'm not happy I just bought a 3ds. Should've bought it a long time ago. Can't wait for this game, the dungeons look sweeet
The sound effects are like distilled nostalgia
if you watch all the videos for this game its been programed around the 3D feature just like super Mario 3Dland
It's come a long way since the reveal, looks very challenging too. Pre-ordered.
hope it has new bosses.all i seen so far is moldorm and trinixx.hope they throw in some twinrova of volvagia or something even more awesome.cant freakin wait for this game.this is like my 5th time watching these trailers.
this is the 1st time i play Zelda and owning an 3DS is the best decision of my life. thank you so much Nintendo.
I've been a looooong time Zelda fan, so I'm always pumped when a new Zelda is about to be released, but I'm particularly excited about this one. It's filled with action (something that was lacking on previous DS Zeldas), and I'm under the impression that this one is a bit harder (this is definitely a plus).
wow this looks pretty interesting, i knew there was a zelda coming for 3ds but i had never seen gameplay, definetely getting this alongside x or y
the wall drawing transformation is weird but theres a reason.. but i do love the air camera angle, least i’ll know where to run if i see the baddies in the room come at me... like-a boss.😂
I have never played a Zelda game before, but I like the "old school top-down" style of this game. I might actually get it one day. :)
I have a pokemon blue edition 3ds xl but still going to buy sooo excited
Preodered can not wait to play this on meh new golden 3ds xl .. gana rock i loved ALTTP so much
It's a direct sequel to that game, and a lot of the SFX are very similar or identical. Including the starter house, and Hyrule. A lot of it is purposely nostalgic. :)
I like how this Zelda game finally reintroduces magic(used by Link) to the Zelda series.
No agreement here....
I like toon link better............much better than the other link styles. HE'S SO CUTE AND FUNNY!!! (:
This game is going to be so awesome and it comes out on my birthday :D
Dang, even from the trailer this game looks like it'll be challenging. BRING IT ON!
or Oracle of seasons and Ages. Or Minish Cap, so its been a while, but not as long as you think.
Loving the upgraded fire and ice rods.
Kind of. I've played the NSMB games, and they're all sort of the same to me. I have a Wii U and plan to get Mario 3D World when it comes out. Actually, it's the game I'm most looking forward to right now!
i'm glad they are back to the classic typical Nintendo games...awesome!!!
This game. I can't wait to get it! Hopefully I will be able to play it on the golden XL
I love the game it is one of the best😃😃👍👍 :) :D
if you live in England look in the argos christmas guide. it says it is already on sale!
I really hope the magic meter also regenerates like this in the new Wii U game.
I never said that LTTP wasn't fun. I said that it wasn't fun to /watch/. Which may be why it wasn't included.

Love the box art
Cool. I have never had the change to play a Legend of Zelda game but this is awesome :D
I really liked the old zelda games camera view but with 3d models it just doesn't look right to me to me. Still think it might be good.
It wasn't a main series Mario game, so it was the first game in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 64 and beyond were sequels.
Not gonna lie, some of those puzzles and dungeon layouts looked pretty legit.
looks like it's shaping up to be an instant classic!
Just wish I would be able to play this in a limited edition LoZ 3ds xl with the physical copy.....
I thought so too at first, but if you view one of the videos on the 3DS it's not too bad.
OMG my mouth just dropped wow I so can't wait to buy this and play it I'm super excited!!! ZELDA 4EVER!!!
The progression varies with the subject.
Yess. Ocarina of Time Hyrule field theme at the end :DD
Here in 2024. Bout to get a 3ds
Happy to hear this music with a new tone. And I see a certain turtle returning.....
I think I won't be able to wait until November 22th.
Many people complain about the art style of the game... I think it's awesome. A Link to the past is one of the best Zelda games, I love the way they have remastered the world.
A kind of sequel that takes place centuries after the events of A Link to the Past
First the PS4, and now this? I'm gonna be so broke by the end of the month xD
...did you get it in the end?
@@tomtative I did! I enjoyed it but never finished it. I will say that I got the Link’s Awakening remake for the Switch and enjoyed that a bit more.
@@TrevDog3030 Now are you on the hunt for the ps5?
And now you probably have a PS5 🤷♂️😂
Nintendo please please release The original Link to the Past on virtual console 3ds it would get everybody so pumped and it would make for an incredible profit
This game definitely looks interesting. I'm still undecided over whether I should pick it up or not though
I'm loving this game already
Ah the nice adventurous Zelda. Something one can always find joy in
That's the point, there is ONLY puzzles in the dungeon footage, no enemies.
wish I had the money for this & the guide....maybe I'll get lucky next month after getting a phone...
He said DIRECT. It is a sequel, but it's like 6 generations forward or something.
Looks to be one of the best Mario's since Mario 64. I liked the others but they felt like I was just going through the motions. Sunshine didn't feel like a follow up to main, galaxy... Can't wait til I get that game!
Ahh I see, I did research on them already! Guess the more you get, the more upgrades you get!
0:33
"Explore all new dungeons"
You don't say?
Agreed.. will be picking this up for sure :)
The Game of Year 2013! #GameSport \o/
OMGOMGOMG!!! I absolutely CANNOT wait any longer for this game to come out! :3
