      This kind of product works out because much of the same power conversion circuitry that's necessary to make a good charger is also useful in creating a good AA power bank. What sucks is the power banks that just connect the batteries in series and hope for the best.
      With this, having the individual cell control already lets this thing divide the current between the cells (probably within reason so that it doesn't have to draw too much from a given cell) to get more out of the cells that would have had juice left when a series string would have lost the weakest cell and the thing quits.

     @Tech Guy Charlie Do you know the device as you present, but for 18650 cells? I found Tomo products, but they look cheap and they slowly discharge the cells during storage (3mA averaged continuous consumption). The Ledlenser Flex 7 looks decent.

    Thanks!! I want to get some AAA batteries, but there are so many kinds, it’s hard to choose.
    Would you recommend these for low energy draining devices?(keyboards, mouses, small reading lights, tv remotes, clocks, small trimmers, etc)
    Also, is the power bank function truly safe for an iPhone(or any phone batterie)? I don’t know much about power banks/technology(that’s why your reviews are so useful👍), but I have noticed some say not any power device is save for charging our phones.

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ignore what people say, they have no clue.
      Coming to batteries, go with the white Eneloops, they are really good will last a really long time. BTW, if you want a good power bank, go with a proper one with Lithium batteries, because these Ni-Mh batteries don't hold that much charge, currently I am using this: th-cam.com/video/f6Yr-jQJRu8/w-d-xo.html

    • @donwald3436

      @@spiderman-gx9oe Battery voltage labelling is nominal and it goes down as they are used. "1.5V" alkaline batteries are usable well below 1.0V by most well designed electronics so "1.2V" rechargeable batteries will cause no problems.

    Great and test and review, thank you very much :) In terms of efficiency, aren't we down to 50%? If that's the case, then the purpose of this device is emergency. I wonder what the most optimal "power-to-whatever" budget battery solution is.

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      On point, the main purpose of this is to charge AA and AAA batteries through USB, the power bank functionality is just a fancy addon which is only useful in emergency when you don't have access to power, even small li-ion battery power bank would be 100 times better than this.

    • @jubilantyogurt

      @@TechGuyCharlie Thanks for taking the time to respond. In terms of Power Banks, wouldn't it be more cost effective to straight up buy a UPS? Or UPS and hooking it up with a "car battery" (12v 100Ah)? Again, thinking of emergencies

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, definitely. We actually have a full sinewave ups with 2x 200ah tubular batteries for the entire house, way more cost effective for places where you have frequent power cuts, it will run your PC, tv, fan, lights, charge phone without breaking a sweat.

    • @big0bad0brad
      @big0bad0brad ปีที่แล้ว

      No - it needs to see 4 individual cells and may not like 2V/cell. This doesn't place the batteries in series so you can't regulate down and feed 2 of the pins like you might be able to on some things.
