Talk about an alien drain monster! You need an robotic arm and clamp, like surgeons use to do microscopic surgery. What skill! Like watching a sci-fi movie, suspenseful! Greetings from Montana.
When all else fails it's Penetrator to the rescue. What is that stuck in the drain? Some old cover valve plate. Great patience and finesse needed for retrieval and expertly done I might add. Good job Gavin. Never know what you are going to find on a job .
Awesome . This is why I watch your channel . You don't give up until you've either succeeded or exhausted your options . Frickin' awesome job, brother... I felt like I was right there doing it myself . Your camera work and video skills are excellent. Thanks for another outstanding video !
I thought it was cool how Ollie floated you referral. I look forward to a collab-video between the both of you. Hello to Mrs. P and your lil'one too. Cheers from Laguna Woods California.
For things like that, you could try a yellow tongue that sparkies use, tape on the end a bent metal coat hanger to a hook or 2, and with the camera, should be easy. That's how we get cables out of walls.
So i am a career traffic controller. I recently did a traffic controls workzone for a state project for infrastructure repairs. (counsel line repair in Aus). Well the pipe was broke. They had a crew that performs line clearing like you but on a much larger scale, 1-2 ft round inside diameter pipe. Well they cleared them then they rolled a pvc vinyl tube up the pipe. clamped the ends off then filled it with pressurized steam. Which had the fire dept out thinking it was a broken steam pipe. Well the steam solidified the vinyl pvc tube and basically molded itself to the pipe and replacing the old pipe. Very fascinating. I wonder if there is a smaller scale of that process that you could employ for broken pipes?
Hello from Georgia, USA. I've watched all of your past videos, got desperate and started watching other 'drain' videos. Not the same quality of work! I think the way you work appeals to my OCD :) Keep up the good work!
I can't help but reckon maybe that disc with rubber flap might be part of whatever is going on @39:46 , Like that was what it originally was part of but has disintegrated and the other bits already were long gone down the tooly hole. Strange indeed, but great you managed to wrangle it outta there
How cool was that, I thought the dogs were going to take over from Josh on camera, and the patience to get the object out fantastic......but what impressed me most was only one bleep.....have to be honest if it was me the soundtrack would be x-rated. Great job and excellent video. Slán from Ireland🇮🇪
Reminds me of Split pea soup...yuck, I don't like split pea soup, but I am glad I don't have to eat it again!! Loved my mom, she did excellently taking care of us!! Wonderful helpers, too; new crew members!! Thanks again for sharing your day with us; thank you and much love!! Wow, amazing recovery skills, absolutely amazing!!!
Enjoy each and every episode you put up on The Tube. Use neodymium magnets and connect to metal items stuck in pipes. Cheers From Paul in Dublin, Ireland
Heroic work to get that thing out of there and looks like it impressed everyone. And the video didn't really show the effort you put into getting it out so Well done and a great relief to all
A little off topic on your jetter shutoff have you tried removing the handle and see if there is a packing gland that can be tighten up to make the lever handle more stiff?
First 20secs That's the Penetrator i like to see with a cheeky aussie smile.. Exellent job on sorting the job out sorting and the difficult recovery of the valve, Can you not make or get a fitting that is a magnet? might do the job easier i don't know, but an enjoyable video Gavin well done anyway....
Reminds me of a gutter/down pipe stop. We had similar we used to block the gutters when we had fires about. As you tighten the screw the rubber starts turning back on itself and seals the pipe.
Incredible skill and patience to extricate that object in 3D space just by rotating a hose and attachment. Shame clients are not more helpful about what they know about their own system.
Well, memory affects all of us, and some people don’t remember to take notes on plumbing. Do you know the first thing about your pipe system? I sure as heck don’t, except “they’re in the crawl space.” Haven’t had to deal with em yet, though I probably will sometime (been here at least 15 years, but we don’t flush wipes or dump grease). When we have an issue I have to afford to fix, I’ll learn more then, and take notes ;)
I told Ollie that l heard him on the phone with u a also said for him to get some gloves like yours maybe u can send him a pair god bless you and your family
Could the plastic object be the inflatable plug which is used to test the house drains and vents for leaks? Building an addition onto my little house, after I.nstalled the PVC drain and vent lines I was required to plug the drain and fill the water all the way to the top of the roof vent. Water leaks would reveal where I failed to solvent weld? the pipes and fittings completely.
Australian plumbing is very different to the primitive, but effective, systems we have here in very rural Portugal. Im quickly going through your backlist of videos. Work faster. Its fascinating stuff. 😂😂😂
The dogs were so chill, even with the jet. Also, with things like kitchen fat, I wonder if a heated jetter like system would help. But then again, building and the cost of heating the water and waiting on more to heat up wouldn't be worth it in the long run
How in the heck did a compression plug get into the septic or any drain like that? Good job on getting it out Gavin. No wonder they couldn't get a turd down stream.
@@penetratorblockeddrains been there , took me three days with a set of rods with a corkscrew on the end ! Nightmare stuff. So jealous of your gear. Nothing like having the right tools for the job!
That was a very good retrieval. Almost looks like a test plug to me. Most of the rubber is gone but if you turn the screws it should tighten in the drain and seal it. Just a guess. Could be a flapper but not one I've ever seen.
Another Great Video. That being said and nit meaning any harm towards anyone...But Do These Home Owners not realize how hard your job is and you need to be able to do that job as easily as possible as there are enough obstacles already without roaming and interfering chikdren and animals included...of which we have both. When Service and Repair People come...keep your children and animals under control. These people are there to do a job and not to be babysitters. The more they interfere the longer it takes to do the job and tge longer it takes the more it cost. Maybe next time you have to call These Service people out they too should bring their pets and chikdren for you to watch after. THINK ABOUT IT Long And Hard before "Your children and pets" go out and GET IN THE WAY And Could Be Harmed.
You need a magnetic/claw attachment on the hose so you can pull objects out of drains
Its plastic not magnetic metal it also has a stainless steel bolt that is also no magnetic
@@colinhunter1910 good point, hadn’t thought of that. I still think having a claw/hook attachment would have a lot of utility though.

Wow what patience you have excellent work my friend!

That retrieval was legendary. And when a plumber, a drain cleaning specialist, says "That's disgusting" you know it's really disgusting.

Yes, they have that for smaller pipes, too. I've seen a video or two on TH-cam but don't know much more.
It is a pipe sealer used to stop the sewer whilst repairing it
Gavin, it's all good. Happy days. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
All good 👍
You’re a very determined and patient man, well done mate 😊

Great job. I’m curious how you can multitask and film and run the hose all at the same time. Amazing work 👍👏

Just wanting to know the reason that went the cap was close, why you couldnt just reach down and grab it with you hand?
