    Man, frustrating as all heck not being able to get all the ROOOOTS!! I felt real bad for you Gavin. I hope it all turned out well for the homeowner. Good job breaking it partway to make it functional.

    Wow, what a nightmare! No wonder the other plumber didn't come back. LOL! A horrible setup and hard on the body being in such tight spaces for so long. Cheers on you mate for doing all you could in such a terrible situation. Keep up the good work!

    This is exactly why I never pour cooking grease or oil down my drains. After it cools I put it in an empty coffee can with a tight lid. When the can is full I put it in the trash. I don't know how that plumbing set up ever made it through an inspection. You're an exceptional person to even try to deal with that mess. I bet you figured out quick why the other plumber didn't show up for the job.

    Man, Gavin, I could hear the frustration in your voice near the end of the video. I was really feeling it for you. But you are a professional. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with it. Endeavor to persevere.
    Job well done!

    Between the grease and the roots, this is an issue the sellers of this house decided not to disclose. If I was the one that bought it, unless I got a super good deal on the house, I would look at the previous owners to pay for part or all of this. This problem didn't happen over night

    • @MrPlain_
      @MrPlain_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Caveat emptor would probably protect a seller in this case if they didn’t know of any plumbing issues. But it can vary state to state in Australia

    Long comment. Just how I am. Wow!That was just terrible. I can see why a plumber would walk away. I’m in America. One of your wild birds. The cockatiel. I have one as a pet. She picks them up in the background and calls back. I love it. I know that bird you might be tired of. This American will always hold a place in my heart for a cockatiel. I have other birds. Including a hahns macaw. Still my cockatiel is my favorite. You have a wonderful business. You do an excellent job! I’m glad this one wasn’t buried way back under that house. That drain… Well you used the word “dodgy” to describe it. I would use the words unsafe and just wrong! You did an excellent job in getting a solution to the issue. You are a hard working pro! Keep up the great work. I just recently started watching your videos. I thumbs up them as they start. You have the BEST name!!!! Glad you got it. Just love it. Someday I will make it to Australia. Wanted to go after I got my bird. Watching your videos. Makes me want to come see more. Stay happy. Stay safe.

    It was only 3' deep. As soon as I hit those roots, I would have dug it up and replaced the busted pipe. Over here we have individual accessible p-traps for each fixture and the house main goes straight out to the city main. We, fortunately, don't have to negotiate those insidious traps you have to deal with over there. I wish I had the time to video more of my work. If I did, I'd never get through all the jobs everyday. I appreciate your hard work and perseverance.

    Wow what a disaster setup! Things folks do and expect it to work properly 😂…great job however! Also, grease 🙄, can’t folks realize it re-solidifies… using laundry pods are not good either, the outer shell is thin plastic and also re-solidifies.

    • @tbelding
      @tbelding 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laundry pods use PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol) plastic, which dissolves in water. It doesn't resolidify. however, it doesn't fully degrade in normal sewage treatment plants either.
