- Welcome to the EU4 Mamluks who start out as the most powerful nation near Europe. No one plays as the mamluks and they always perish, despite an incredible start. Although they're the most powerful nation in 1444, they have no real unique mission tree - though they have a unique government type as well as it being the most OVERPOWERED government type in EU4.

Day 1 of petitioning for laith to play Walachia.
Signed
@@getimpaled3460 Name and pfp check out
No, Moldava. It is less played.
@@yusufs1878 Moldova is easier though.
@@yusufs1878 He already did moldova where he no-CBd byzantium
As much is I like seeing Laith suffer, I also like seeing him pop off every now and again
Wouldn't mind seeing more of this save in the future
seconded
We will never see more of this save, bet
@@arandomwalk yeah probably
Coloniser Mamluks is the most based path for them.
Pair that with vassal swarm Mamluks and it's really fun.
How do you do that? I love the mamluks n have a small plan to nom on morrocco/grenada/castile to get access to colonization but haven't played
@@colossicus555 it's not American colonisation(even though you could probably do that), I just like to colonise China, Indonesia and Oceania. Maybe if you're quick enough you can snatch the East cost of north America though.
@@colossicus555 A classic is Mamlukean Australia and you could also pretty easily go for the spice islands of course. Europeans usually arrive quite late in that region, and even if they are there first you can just steal their colonies. The actual Americas are harder to come by, but you could also go to Southern Africa first and then hop onto South America and the La Plata region.

I love playing the Mamluks. It's so easy to have permanent 100 army tradition
I love this channel, Laiths way of making videos and his sense of humour. It just resonates with me. Your uploads are always the good part of a day. Keep up the great work king!
Cheers mate! Appreciate it!
I love a good mamluks campaign once in a while
13:15 As a certified Tunisian i can assure you that a kef is indeed a proper slap, at least the way my parents did it😅. Wonder what village laith is from though.
How about a race between Vic3/EU4? Starting as the same country (or starting position, you get the idea), you have to accomplish X objective
They are too different in style imo
Vic3 way harder and better game
@@hey.3249 how so?
Big meme, play Equestria at War. The pony mod that’s so in depth it’s nuts.
There's an event to get cyprus as a vassal but think you need to keep the guarantee
Played Mamluks for Arabian Coffee years ago, such an underrated nation. Arabian Australia happened, it was great.
The shirt is nice.
why do you vassalize byz and not annex them and then release? that just unneccesarily gets you into a war with the ottomans plus i think athens gets independent
costs more Agressive expansion im prettying sure
It's to get into a defensive war against the ottomans early, when the mamluks are still stronger
@@arthursteiner3734 but ae doesn't matter with greek orthodox nations
@@arthursteiner3734 they're orthodox, nobody cares
Get 1 province from Aragon, and you can release them as soon as Castille integrate them (will take a while, since spain can't be formed)
Getting Provence to 100 dev or giving it corsica will grant it cores on all of naples (check their mission tree for details) for some juicy reconquests
When getting the provinces from Aragon/Naples/Castille, be sure to take a sicilian core
Algiers is a good releasable to take the rest of Tlemcen, And Eretna or Karaman are good for Anatolia.
also, GET ADMIN IDEAS, the policy gets you another 20% reduction in diploannex cost, the merc stuff is great since you're using them a lot, and you're constantly out of govcap
This, I wouldn't have picken a fight with Castile bf they formed Spain, Aragonese vassal is just so juicy
My favourite thing to do as the Mamluks is culture switch to Turkish and them form Rum once the Ottomans have been annexed, especially since Rum now has the Ottoman mission tree.
Wow, I have never thought doing that!
The Mamluks are fun to play, you can basicly conquer entire Arabia peacefully by getting them as vassals.
Even paradox forgot about them what can we do?
I would love to see you keep playing this, arabia is a chad formable.
The dumbest thing in eu4 is that Mamluks doesn't have a custom mission tree, it's so stupid.
Oh, Laith, you know a spy ring helps with sieges and probably would have spared you at least a couple of month-ticks. It pains me to see your diplomats doing nowt. ;-)
I don’t know what games ya’ll are playing but in my games if I don’t fuck with the Middle East the Mamluks always dominate Arabia.
I was just looking for a mamluks video and laith posts one
thanks from Tunisia 🇹🇳
what would be the best national ideas to go for in a custom nation if your plan was to be so amazing diplomatically that you could expand without ever warring? could you have an op combination that let you peacefully vassalize constantly and integrate super quickly etc?
As you cannot vassalise countries with more than 100 dev, no matter what you'll find yourself fighting
But I don't know about ideas
Diplo rep + Vassilatio Acceptance and Liberity Desire. Then prob a colonist, and finish with some dev stuff. Don't forget to be Cristianity for the "free" PU.
@@tuluppampam Well, you could befriend their allies and make them cancel their alliance with whoever it is youre targeting and hope someone pounces on them. Maybe even fund their enemies too
@@tuluppampam Mod so everyone is Christian and pu them.
@@azh698 if you're gonna mod you can just make any country capable of getting PUs and allowing royal marriages regardless of religion
Or you can change the limit for accepting vassalisation up to something like 50000 (no country will ever reach such a high Dev)
The way he Pronoun Thessaloniki 🤢🤢 Astogfralah
Day 2 of petitioning Mamluks in 1518
Theres so much potential for flavour with the mamluks, like mamluk litterally means slave.
They were a cast of slave warriors, first turkish then circassian, who gradually became too influential and then seized power, like a beta-jannisary state.
Additionally the Sultan would be elected by the emirs and other influential mamluks.
And not to mention they called themselves Turkey and then later Circassia xD.
Like honestly it could be one of the most unique nations in the game.
Don't tell Red Hawk the Mamluks are "forgotten". Pretty sure they're in his top 3.
why you still playing this game anyway? you cant unlock lathe in this game...
Day 0 of petitioning Laith to play Cracow ni Vic3
We really need a dlc that focuses on the Levant area. Ottomans, Turkish Beyliks, QQ, AQ, Mamluks really deserves a good mission trees
The Ottomans are already as overpowered as it is, do you really want to make them even more overpowered?
That’s called Cradle of Civilization. This game doesn’t need even more worthless MT dlcs
"invite circassians " is not the right term
a lot of the mamluk leaders were former georgian and circassian slaves
Right, they occupied a specific position within society and were enslaved, but the particulars of how slavery worked allowed for a Mamluk sultanate based out of Egypt as well as other places such as 13th-century Delhi.
It was a weird nation where slaves were also kings, quite fascinating tbh
@@viniciusyugulis7278
Who enslaved even more people after they became rulers
The nizzarids in ante bellum are also pretty pog.
Sick
I wish you finished this campaign
Yeah you absolutely deserve a calm relaxing campaign every now and then.
Now go and do a Ryukyu world conquest or something.
Just kidding, what I'd really like to see tho is a continuation of the Aztec one doing a *sunset invasion* :)
Nice video from Tunisia 🇹🇳
I wouldn't have minded Laith playing a mod like missions expanded to give that extra flavor for the mamluks as it is unfortunate they dont have an actual mission tree
Missed Ajam vassal at 30:40
1:50 circassians took over after 1382, when Berquq overthrew the Turkic Bahri dynasty. The founders of the Mamluk state are Turkic. Saifaddin Qutuz, Baibars, Aibeg etc.
I want a second episode
Play this save moreee
Yeah… History nerd alright. The Mamluks existed until the 1510s😄 Annexed only by Suleiman’s cruel daddy)))
The Mamluks originally weren’t Circassian. Mamluk refers to Turkic or Caucasian soldiers used by the caliphates. The Mamluks of Delhi established the Delhi Sultanate and some mamluks established the Ghaznavid Sultanate. The Mamluks in Egypt were mostly Turkic/Turkish soldiers that served under the Ayyubids. The most notable of the Turkic mamluks is Baibars, the one who defeated the Mongols. After over a century of Turkic Mamluk rule the Circassian Mamluks staged a coup and controlled the sultanate until its demise.
There is a small country called Croatia in Austria, I challenge you to play as Croatia, become independet, destroy Austria, drive ottomans back, have full control over old yugoslavia territories, try to also be in top 10 powers at the end of the challenge. Thanks for everything you do :D Have a good day. Day 3 of asking. In VIC3 of course.
literally just played Mamluks yesterday last night. got my shit rocked by ottomans cause I suck.
the reason why the ottomans won vs the mamluks was because 2 main mamluk leaders betrayed the mamluks undercover and switched sides, twice and then the last opposition got betrayed also.
other than that the Mamluks were actually more than capable of fighting back and even if they lost once they could have reorganized, modernized their tactics even more and then got their stuff back, but what can we say, BETRAYAL is the worst enemy.
There's nothing more satisfying than attacking a potential big rival early and completely breaking their mission and event tree. Taking Constantinople before the Ottomans can, taking Novgorod to prevent Muscovy from forming Russia, etc.
I have a very powerful AI mamluks in my current game.
They have good chunk of Anatolia, Maghreb, Arabia and so on. They are insane.
I keep coming back to this video, if you still have this save please bring it back!!
Absolutely amazing shirt. When are we getting a 125% discipline just like the Prussian’s one?
Second part??
This was genuinely fun. Please continue it.
If you want to do more vassalgames i reccomend the moluccas, a lot of subjegation cb's and a special cb for the entire culturegroup through the missiontree
Here's a challenge, as a Polynesian nation, own every province that borders the Pacific Ocean. Marae Nostrum the pacific
So the Mamluks are basically the Holy Roman Caliphate... hey there's a video idea!
[chanting] world con-quest! world con-quest! world con-quest!
Mamluks always lose because the Ottomans have better quality troops and the AI is garbage.
This could be a fun campaign to continue, you could go for restoring the Caliphate
you should have seen the Manluks in my Tunis into Andalusia run, i formed Andalusia and had north africa all the way to Egypt and still took me and the Ottomans to take em down before we partitioned it between us
15:00 being careful not to lose diplo power and giving south Arabia to Hejaz directly in peace deal instead of taking it yourself and later giving provinces to vassal
I bet Mameluks would invite Circassians as rulers, becouse the mameluks are just former circassian slaves that migrated and united.
Day 1 of Asking Laith for a Muscovy run where he cultute converts to Ruthenian after forming russia
what's interesting is that there was a muslim fort in Provence, up until the 1st Crusade, from which came raids as far as Switzerland
Is it just me or does he always forget to activate the AE scholar? The banner that you have to pay admin to activate him is always showing
If you wanted a reconquest cb for Byz you could have just... annex and release
im sorry france you thought i wouldent avenge the battle of tours after you forced me to march across the pyrenes time to pillage france my boys!
23:30 my friend Liner has a mod which lets your subjects make formables
The mamluks were conquered in 1517 not 1446
Laith do a part 2 and go colonial and conquer Iberia and the balkans and form Rome in part 3
Day 2 of making laith play equatorial guinea in hoi4
seeing this mams culture shift to turkish and forming rum then getting the spice islands would be cool
kef means slap even here in the gulf.. also it's hejaaaz.. not hejez brother.
Mamluks are easiest to build monstrous trade center funelling all Asian trade.
The mamlukes feel like a stat stick. Yes they have development money and an army but flavour is sleepy.
Mamluks are so forgotten, even Paradox has forgotten about them
Playing middle east sucks because it lacks mission trees and flavour
The maluks always perish? I see them defeating the ottomans more often than not.
Killing Ottoman is easy, one cheese strat is always no CB Byzantine lol.
I like vassals and best vassals are Biz, Syria, Mazandaran
Hmm yes lore of mamluks into world superpower momentum 100
1st day of asking laith to play eu3
For some reason the mamluks have been beating the ottomans in all of my game recently
You forgot the ottomans bro, they op and forgotten.
Mam is my fav Nation in EU 4 😊
A good game good vedio but plz better your gold and ducats game
PLEASE go back to this campaign!! I's really nice to see a game where things, well, go well! I wanna see more vassal-everyone Mamluks!
MOAR!
would you consider continue the save game?
Basicaly Mameluks is Circassian junta.
you know that you get a siege bonus with higher spy network?
Mamluks are not the only ones that beat the mongols in combat. Volga bulgarians also won a battle against the mongols in 1224, however in 1229 mongols returned with 53 000 troops, sacked the capital city of Bolgar and subjugated the kingdom
Forgotten? Mamlusk? RLY?
Aatih Kaf😂 ....Are you an Arab my friend?
Mamluks are a very underrated nation so I'm really happy to see this video. A lot of territory can be taken completely effortlessly, and the vassal swarm you can get with them can be insane, plus you're in a beautiful position to eliminate the Ottomans early, plus no stab hits on ruler death is always a strong bonus if you like to play aggressively, I never have stability issues as them. love a good Mamluks campaign.
Day 2 of asking for a speed run to max corruption
Day one of petitioning a Bulgaria total European control.
Laith, I need a wingman. Been chatting with a Bulgarian Lady and I want to show her a history of Bulgaria that isn't just 1000 years of "Farmers being Robbed" .
Why mamluk mission tree iş bad ? Why
No allies only vassals... So where we are at AoH2
I love playin mamluks and forming rum
