I find it easier to learn about the game aying smaller nations like gernada ive been tryinf to take the iberian ever since i got the game, still have yet to succeed. But i did find that its possible to create a strong navy that can protect trade for you right in the beginning of the game that way you can have plenty of ducata to fund your war, thereofre not go into debt. Your navy should be strong enough to destroy tilisman, castile, and protect your trade.

I started with Granada for my One Faith run. Initially it was just Re-reconquista attempt, but then I realized being Muslim for propagate faith while simultaneously knocking out the 2 biggest colonizers early made it a great opportunity to continue to spread the One Faith. And then, Andalusia gets a Colonizer without needing to waste an idea slot for it. This was before the patch that gave Castille its disaster, though.
I kept the original ruler, though. I happened to roll a 6,5,5 heir and taking the pretender would mean losing the great heir, so one of the rare instances you don't want to surrender to the rebels.

Something i discovered the other day - you can actually abuse the piety interaction for manpower as a muslim nation, if you go mystic. The way you do it is slacken recruitment as you're using the piety interaction for manpower. This will double the manpower you get from the piety interaction, because it's based on your manpower recovery speed.
...and another thing, which is unrelated, but cool nonetheless: If you get any event that boosts your tax income significantly, like the +50% for a year event, you should sell crownland during this time, as you seem to get more based on total income, or at the very least total tax. Dunno the exact formula though, but i literally got in the neighbourhood of 50% extra value during this exact scenario, which then went down to normal numbers after the event finished.

The Andalusians were pretty violent towards the Christian and Jewish population in the immediate fall of the Visigothic Kingdom, in fact, until the 11th century, many a Iberian thought of the Andalusians as foreigners. Much of Al-Andalus's prestige as a bastion of progress is unwarranted because they were quite similar to its peers in the Muslim world

When they fall again in 11 century, Almohads & Almoravids that have different culture & using Islamic strict law compared in Al Andalus, many jews & christian flew to north. Thus that why even reconquista won wars & manage held by muslim, there is no significant progress to take back land. Simply they dont have any resource like before.
