The FAQ clearly states that there won’t be any microtransactions. Plus, it’s getting a lot of promotion on Twitter and Instagram, and even on their official TH-cam channel.

The game will not close in Asia, only in the Americas and South America. I've been playing for over a year, it's a very good game, but its failure is solely the fault of WB and their bad decision making. No content for months, not the same customer treatment as in Asia, no promotion, not bringing out all the existing cards, basic quests that take you a whole day, making it impossible for new players to progress, not being able to play with your friends if they are not from the same continent, etc.

This is frustrating. However, I've always been a fan of single player games over online. A big reason is because of this. I don't have to worry about the game shutting down. I know I can always just start it up and it works just like it did 10 years before.
I stopped playing late last year because of all the "busy work" and grind they were introducing to the game. It was simply chewing up too much of my time, while at the same time beginning to feel more like a job rather than a joy. There was a lot of frustration that even players who loved the game eventually felt and I was one of them.
awww, I played this game for a bit and stopped but I really loved it, especially the unique art style and the things to do in the game. it’s really infuriating that they won’t even just sunset the game and keep it on without updates, nope they had to just delete it all. I feel terrible for the devs (a chinese studio) who worked so hard on this game just to see their efforts gone, and even more so for the players who spent so much time and money in it.
Damn, haven't even found the time to really play this game yet, and now it's gone already. The game has been in "test(?)" phases in China for longer than in full release.
I'm pissed off the game is shutting down! I have been playing every day since January. I swore I will never support WB games again if they don't let us transfer
Most of us are migrating to the Ashwinder server, but apparently, you can transfer your account (there is a character code provided by the game). Some people did it, but it's not safe bc some users lost data from their accounts.
I was deeply upset when I heard about this news. This game has really meant a lot to me and it’s my favorite mobile game. I was able to download the netease version through but of course I have to start completely over and it sucks that I’m losing everything that I worked for. I’ve played the game every day since launch and I got my spell book to level 116. Definitely sucks that I had to start over because I worked hard to get to that point.
Sadly here in the Netherlands and Belgium I believe, we never ever got to play the game due to a new law regarding loot boxes (loot boxes are considered as gamblin)
This is why I generally stay away from all server-based games, so basically every mobile game, or online multiplayers. These games are terrible for future game preservation.
This is heart breaking man.. I’ve waited so long for a game like this of the world of Harry potter.. WB has more than enough to work the magic and tricks to keep this game alive.. it was soooo fun..
If you want to try it, play on Netease. They're a good handler; lots of giveaways and players are competitive. It's also easy for beginners to catch up.
Guys, this game linked with my Harry Potter childhood. It has so much potential and unique gameplay. It’s sad because I couldn’t find any comfort games like it anywhere.
it really sad🥲.this game was close to my heart ❤.but i stopped playing it 4 month ago due to my study but i thought to play in future but this news make me sad.now i checked in my playstore in india it's unavailable💔💔
I am so bummed! Honestly that's fricken brutal! I really enjoyed this! The story has been so good each season is awesome! They've added so much and then wham take it away?!
I've played since it was available in Oceania, and it's devastating to see it just be taken away so coldly. I became quite attached to my character and found a wonderful group of people to play with. It really sucks to see it go 😢
I tried Magic Awakened and didn’t like the combat but I followed the story here on TH-cam and enjoyed it. WB is the company that announced it was disappointed with Man of Steel then hired the same director to make 3 more Superman movies, so the whole corporation has its head up its ass.
I've loved this game so much ever since it was released, been playing it for a year and a half and even met my boyfriend in this game. I've got so many great memories of it... But for the past months I've been busy with other stuff, I only heard of it closing down today. I didn't get to play it one last time. 💔
Omg I’m so sorry… but we were able to transfer our accounts (yes including every single thing you purchased cosmetics etc even your currency transfers with you like your gold and jewels etc). But the time was limited when it comes to transferring. I just downloaded the PC version and did the transfer since that was the easiest way. Even though they said server transfers weren’t available they indeed were.
I feel like they're sitting on Gold with the Hogwars Legacy engine.. Hogwarts Legacy 2 (?) Just needs to take what the community has begged for, and then do their jobs.. it should be a no brainer to have a Replayable and fully fleshed out quidditch, Dueling Club again, Wizards chess, Gobstones, etc... these things would give the game enough legs to take it out farther than the lifespan that Hogwarts Legacy 1 had... there just NEEDS to be more fan service, and systems within systems that keeps you coming back.
Dude this freaking sucks... i remeber hearing the announcment. My gf and i pre downloaded it and hopped on day one. Created our own guild that ended up being filled up. I stopped playing about 3-4 months ago because i moved and new stuff came out. Etc. But i never stopped coming back to it. I just played like 2 days ago and last night i tried to get on but seen it said "maintenance" but i ignored it and thought to myself that it will be back up tomorrow when i wake up. Come to find out after actually reading the whole thing. It freaking shut down.. ive never been more sad about a live service game shutting down than ever before
Were you able to recover your account? I abandoned the game, found out what happened to it, and tried to get back. When I logged into my old account, I started all over again. I played on Europe, but now it is impossible. Is it possible to return the game progress from Europe to Asia?
For those who want to play the game, you still can. They only shut down WB server (NA and EU) while NetEase server (Asia, Africa and Oceania) is still running. You can download that version and start your jorney, we will be having 3rd anniversary of this game at 1st september, they be giving a lot of free stuff. ❤
I loved this game when it came out, I am not a micro transactions person and I always suspected a shutdown eventually, but I must admit this feels like a very short shelf life and a clear signal that it has failed to reach some corporate revenue number which is holding more weight than serving fans.
This game was not marketed well. I feel if they had led with it being a story that takes place 10 years after the events of what we know, I would have played. It launched during the Fake Ad boom and I just didn't believe the game would be anything like its ad. We buy counsel games for 60 bucks, so why do app games think it's okay to gouge players in such a way, that they lose the support for their idea. No one wants to spend money on an app that will shut down in 5 years or less, especially when they're asking us to pay them thousands of dollars within that time, in an economy that is starving the population with its inflation. I want disk and cartridges games back. I want a product I can own. There is no reason this game and so many other app games couldn't be put on a Nintendo 3DS cartridge or in a bundle disk set with other app related and defunct games. They're ripping off the fans and then bailing when the fans get wise. Laughing as they do it, while never having to own up to their scam Stop supporting app games and digital services and push for tangible products and goods for your money. We do so much advertising for these companies that we pay subscriptions to, but yet we're not paid or compensated for that advertising, we're paying them so we can make them more money. This is why I don't wear or encourage anyone to purchase or wear logo shirts and other clothing. If they want us to advertise for them by boasting their brand, then they can pay us, I'm not buying something from anyone so they can make me their billboard. That will take a sponsorship deal. Hopefully they will put this out for a counsel or handheld like it should have been in the first place.
I am so furious right now, HP magic awakend, was the greatest game for mobile, it was better than Hogwarts mystery, it's bs they shut it down, ahhhhh why wb bring it back for real
I hope NetEase let us transfer our accounts data. The game is literally the best I’ve played on mobile, it started slow, with only a few things to do here and there besides dueling, but as time passed and updates coming by, it was really enjoyable to different extents. Myself, I liked the dueling a lot, it is competitive enough to take this game another notch higher, it’s sad to see how WB just fumbled the bag and was like “ok, so we are shutting down the game, bye bye”, so disrespectful for players and Harry Potter fans overall. I spent a couple hundred dollars on the game, and tbh, I’m not mad about it, I just would’ve like for the running company to put in a little more effort on the game. Right now I created an account on the Asian NetEase servers, and boy, the game is loaded with people everywhere on the map, it is so refreshing, and a glimpse of the reality of how lousy WB is. At least WB added this new “account ID” thingy, so maybe (and hopefully) they are gonna allow NetEase to transfer our characters data to their region.
The sooner WB realise that fans want a quality harry potter game and not crappy imitations, the better. All these years and not one good game. And no, Hogwarts Legacy isn't even close to good.
I couldn't even play it as it wasn't available in my country, we have strict lootbox laws so something tells me it had a really predatory lootbox system if they couldn't even turn it off for us.
any game that was, at some point, downloaded through your account can be re-downloaded from your google play games library this includes games taken off google play store and even online games whose servers were shut down, although you wouldn't get past the loading screen at that point please, google stuff before yapping
You can/could still redownload the game, there's a way to see what games you have downloaded on the app store. Still, sad that they cancelled the game, I saw it while scrolling through apps I have downloaded in the past on my ipad and saw this and it wouldn't let me look at the store page for it, only download it.
Day before it’s gone. I’ve enjoyed playing this for the past year immensely. I’ve spent hours on it and it’s breaking my heart to see it go. Maybe one day it’ll come back, who knows
I just moved my character to the Netease version last night. I’m on the Sphinx server now and can play on the official PC client. There’s a guide on Reddit for how to do it.
It is a shame. Never heard of this game at all until it popped from a streamer mentioning it. Perhaps this game wasn't famous enough to be advertised. That, and I use TH-cam premium to do away with ads.
I tried to get into this game. I really did, but there was just TOO MUCH to do and I did not have the time for this. I wish they’d make daily activities easier
I gotta say I really enjoyed the artstyle and loved going to class. The combat system unfortunately I really disliked a lot... I hated that Herbology and Care of magical beasts are basically both combat while divinations was just how I imagine divinations. It was amazing! I would have loved to actually care for plants and beasts...
I never could play in Belgium, as it never did came out in my country… Hoped during the last year that it still came out in Belgium in the future, but this kills my hopes haha
I watched most of your twitch streams(mostly offline vods) of ypu playing this game and I absolutely loved that content of yours. I was so sad that you stopped making content for this game. I explicitly looked for your new let's plays of this game from time to time and couldn't find any. And wondered why did you stop. I would have keep watching, even more regularly live. I didn't know you have separate youtube channel where you also play games. But I now see that you didn't upload there either anything of this game. I played this game for a little wholenmyself on my phome after I saw from you how great it was. Unfortunately I had to stop cause it was too damn good and too fun and addictive(the dueling was perfect fun and tactics), cause I unfortunately don't have so much time to devote as this game requires and deserves. I was just these last days thinking of downloading it again and playing more seriously from beginning and long term. I am so disappointed by this stupid news and will miss the game a lot. It was/is of really intelligent design in my opinion. And I can't believe it isn't successful enough with the audience/player base/HP fans. It's superb game. I would love and watch your new let's plays of this game in these last two months, if you are interested in making new content for it. I also hope you will be making content for Quidditch Champions from the first day it comes out. I preordered it and will be playing it myself. Anyway, take care🫡
As far as I know t's not a complete shut down like everyone's blowing out of proportion if you were previously on any of the servers that are shutting down, you can fully transfer your progress over to the NetEase servers, sure it sounds bad that they are splitting ways with WB but NetEase will stll be updating and adding content on the Asia servers, will they fully pull the plug in the future who knows..,but atleast we can still be hopeful and play the game, I initially thought they were shutting down for good but that's not the case, luckily I made a character on the NetEase Loading Bay Launcher via PC about 2 months ago and all of the NA servers were locked out anyway so Rougarou is what I picked so I can continue playing without issues after the shutdown, Thunderbird and Ashwinder are also other good servers to switch to if you were NA, just throwing this out there, seen way too people state they are leaving the game and thinking it's shutting down permanently, it's just WB cutting their end of it, I believe the transfer are up until the shutdown date.
It's crazy that I'm a huge fan and this is the first I'm hearing of the game. I wish I had a chance to play it. Please record the let's play so we can at least enjoy the story.
In Asian servers, a lot of players have stopped playing the game after playing for a several months, not sure whether they will give out their accounts for WB players, such that players want to create account in Netease don't need to start from nothing.
Your opinion doesn't make sense, they stopped playing the game doesn't means they don't play anymore. How about all the money when they spend to this game ? I know it very boring when you start a new account again but I don't like how you solve the problem

awww, I played this game for a bit and stopped but I really loved it, especially the unique art style and the things to do in the game. it’s really infuriating that they won’t even just sunset the game and keep it on without updates, nope they had to just delete it all. I feel terrible for the devs (a chinese studio) who worked so hard on this game just to see their efforts gone, and even more so for the players who spent so much time and money in it.
I know a lot of big potter fans that didnt know it existed.. just sad
Damn, haven't even found the time to really play this game yet, and now it's gone already. The game has been in "test(?)" phases in China for longer than in full release.
Yes!
I'm pissed off the game is shutting down! I have been playing every day since January. I swore I will never support WB games again if they don't let us transfer
This is ridiculous… I committed sooo much time on this game within the last year…
Are u sace a progress?
Most of us are migrating to the Ashwinder server, but apparently, you can transfer your account (there is a character code provided by the game). Some people did it, but it's not safe bc some users lost data from their accounts.
I was deeply upset when I heard about this news. This game has really meant a lot to me and it’s my favorite mobile game. I was able to download the netease version through but of course I have to start completely over and it sucks that I’m losing everything that I worked for. I’ve played the game every day since launch and I got my spell book to level 116. Definitely sucks that I had to start over because I worked hard to get to that point.
how do you download the netease version?
and connect to netease
Refunds also depend on how recent you made the purchase. I've heard that your purchase has to be within the last few months.
I’m disappointed. It’s HP: Wizards Unite all over again.
Makes me glad the only Harry potter related game I dropped money for wasn't a live service one.
This is heart breaking man.. I’ve waited so long for a game like this of the world of Harry potter.. WB has more than enough to work the magic and tricks to keep this game alive.. it was soooo fun..
Bro, I have heard about this game for the first time. This game looks amazing no cap. I wish I had played it earlier. WTF did WB marketing did man.
I liked magic awakened and a bit sad it is getting took down
Oh that’s why I don’t see it on the App Store
WTF NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This could've been awesome if only they'd actually promoted the game...
I'm sad I didn't get to play more of this. The game always kept crashing on my phone to where I gave them.
This is my favorite game to play. The only one on my phone that Ive kept. I prefer this over Hogwarts Mystery. Ugh what the hell.
Quidditch Champions will be doomed to the same fate.
Quidditch champions never had a chance its was trash when it was released. Utter garbage
This wasn't even on my radar yet watching the gameplay tells me I would like to play it.
Start on the Netease version 😭
Lots more freebies there too.
NetEase (Global asia) server is still running. You can still play and enjoy the game.
We will be having 3rd anniversary with lots of freebies
If i was Gallantor B at the beginning i would be
😄😄😄
For those who want to play the game, you still can.
They only shut down WB server (NA and EU) while NetEase server (Asia, Africa and Oceania) is still running. You can download that version and start your jorney, we will be having 3rd anniversary of this game at 1st september, they be giving a lot of free stuff. ❤
Sorry thi bother but, do I just need to download de APK and select Asia server in this case ?
Or do I need to creat an Asia Google Acc ?
@@arthurgm3705 what device are you using?
Im so heartbroken. I didn't even bother to log in today. 😢
I loved this game when it came out, I am not a micro transactions person and I always suspected a shutdown eventually, but I must admit this feels like a very short shelf life and a clear signal that it has failed to reach some corporate revenue number which is holding more weight than serving fans.
WB is facing bankruptcy.
Laughing as they do it, while never having to own up to their scam
Stop supporting app games and digital services and push for tangible products and goods for your money.
It was an amazing game I just found out I can't play it anymore and it broke my heart 😭💔
The other game was stupid but it still working
Well that's pathetic.
I am so furious right now, HP magic awakend, was the greatest game for mobile, it was better than Hogwarts mystery, it's bs they shut it down, ahhhhh why wb bring it back for real
WB it's a disgrace for the gaming world
I read an article that they’re shutting down Harry Potter Legacy as well. Tf is going on?
What????? It's bankruptcy. It seemed to me like they were being audited.
Do you mean hogwarts legacy? Because thats not an online service game or is there actually a game called harry potter legacy? Interesting...
4:52 that dance sequence with cassaandra😢. i miss that
Thanks for the video ❤
WELP... it was fun. While it lasted.
Bro what 😢
I couldn't even play it as it wasn't available in my country, we have strict lootbox laws so something tells me it had a really predatory lootbox system if they couldn't even turn it off for us.
I’d never even heard of this game until today!
I am so sad that they shut this down in my country 😭😭
I never got to play it my phone was never strong enough. This sucks.
They should be forced to refund in game purchases
I loved the story I got to story 3 and never reached the 4 others after that T.T
any game that was, at some point, downloaded through your account can be re-downloaded from your google play games library
this includes games taken off google play store and even online games whose servers were shut down, although you wouldn't get past the loading screen at that point
please, google stuff before yapping
It's stupid how they don't make a offline mode for this game, A server free one you could say.
well my app store is set to Egypt so I believe we do have the netease version? I will wait till after Sep. 29th and see
You can/could still redownload the game, there's a way to see what games you have downloaded on the app store.
There’s a guide on Reddit for how to do it.
for those living in belgium and the netherlands we never could have had the experience to play this game sadly
It is a shame. Never heard of this game at all until it popped from a streamer mentioning it. Perhaps this game wasn't famous enough to be advertised. That, and I use TH-cam premium to do away with ads.
This is the problem with micro transactions games, the prices are over the top on this game
I tried to get into this game. I really did, but there was just TOO MUCH to do and I did not have the time for this. I wish they’d make daily activities easier
Yea and leave us with the boring ass one.
its just two days i wanted to try to play it, and now i see this news today. what?
No wonder I couldn't find the game on the playstore last night 😭
Yeah they took it down fast.
It was removed the 26th.
It says the game was updated a week ago, and a new season just dropped???
It’s still going in other regions across the world like Asia. I actually still play on one of the African servers.
Rowling's kids are pretty much adults now, which is why she's probably doing more with Harry Potter lately.
Very...Very sad! 😢 don't even know how many hours I spent playing this game...so much fun! Heart = broken 💔
