Great to see good friends hanging out, having fun and getting some serious work done at the same time. Keep your friends close like family, be there for them and they'll be there for you. Both Fab Rats and Matt's channel are entertaining, educational, and fun to watch, wishing you all the best and keep the videos coming.
Nothing more satisfying than a SAS. Love watching this build. I have watched this series about 10 times and am currently looking for another Taco. Great material keep it coming.
Still catching up on the back catalogue. What a brilliant workshop, with people dropping in to help out, shoot the breeze, swap ideas and generally take the ...... Lots of bendin', weldin', engineerin' and fabricatin'. Plus of course, some superb machinery. BTW, I'm in the UK and if you left any of that bare metalwork without paint for more than 24hrs, you would have rust.... everywhere.
Toyota ford Chevy dodge Nissan and all the rest put those solids back in the fronts of 4x4ers nobody wants ifs, or stupid crawl control sport mode tow mode bla bla. I see it being cheaper to build from start and the amount of aftermarket would be large I feel. You guys just made that Toyota go up in value a lot. Great work dudes.
Such a good channel and awesome content, realistic and down to earth 👍 you guys put a lot of work into that axle swap, its perfect. Hope your friends pay you a bit for your time
Paul if you just undo the emergency brake cable mounts you can pull the axle out with everything intact. I just replaced an axle seal on my 2015 Tacoma and this trick saved me a ton of time!
You guys are awesome at this. I'm an old guy. I wish I could have had this talent. Great videos thanks for sharing. ( Scott looks a little worried about his truck. lol. I don't blame him. I would be worried too. )
Quick tip on removing the 3rd member from that rear axle.. there is enough slack in the brake lines if you carefully straighten them out, and unbolt the emergency brake cable from the frame. I’ve even replaced the axle housing oil seal with only disconnecting the brake line, left the e brake cable connected.
I made sliders just like that for my Rubicon. Only difference was I took a piece of 2" schedule 40 iron pipe, cut it in half and blended them in on both ends. So both ends are rounded to prevent hanging up on rocks.
A lot of very impressive fabrication work... Off road, at least rock crawling improvement to be sure... But the independent suspension on my 4x4 V8 powered 2010 GMC Canyon is boss for me... Good ride, good handling for what I want to do... No solid front axle for me... Couldn't go back...
@Jbog07 oh that's interesting. Well, apparently Jeep has it figured out, haha. I will concede the ride comfort, my 4Runner definitely rides and steers better than my old solid axle Grand Cherokee. Off-road though, the Cherokee was light years ahead of the 4Runner in any technical off roading where front articulation was needed. I watched videos of IFS Toyota's off-roading, and it's just so pathetic how little the front suspension actually does. It's good for bombing down dirt roads a little faster than you probably should be going, but it just doesn't articulate at all in flexy stuff.
I really like your channel; you do awesome work and there's no swearing! 🙊🙉 As an Oklahoma member of Utah's predominant faith, I really appreciate that! 😎
I reckon that every workshop I have been in has a spirit that for fun, likes to move the bits you need, especially wrenches and reading glasses. You put the wrench down, you don't move and when you reach back for it, it's gone.
I'm sure you probably know already but you folks have got a real great Fun, Close Community that even the Wives are in on it!!! You just don't see that much anymore!!! All the best from Canada
Paul and Matt remind me of my brothers. They were machinists and I was an accountant. I would work in the shop on projects with them and they would hand me metal things to hold and they burn my hands and they would laugh at me because that wasn’t “hot”. Just a matter of perspective.
Hoooo Paul, I think you have the "mustard getting up your nose" with all the "spectators running around like bees !!! I would go for a walk !!! Imagine how much work would be done if all the talk turned into work done !!! It is not the clients that you are waiting for.....That's super I am very pleased when I see customers vehicles coming in the workshop !!! If I was sure I could get some goodies from you I would buy some, but Guyana is not very easy especially now ! Keep fit ad very healthy. Warm regards Paul !!!
So when going through Fab Rats withdrawal you go back and watch episodes from the beginning that you haven't seen. I can't believe Paul wears a 38 when I'm much larger than him and was in a 38, 36s now.
Just curious, how much weight did this add with the solid axle swap, steel bumpers, and all the steel tubing used for the frame and sliders? Was the engine modified at all? How does it handle the extra weight?
Paul spitting sparks from the plasma cutter one minute, then being the recipe whisperer on the phone the next moment! Paul of Fab Rats, “The Most Interesting Man In The World!” Forget that beer dude, he’s nothing next to Paul!
I love your welds there so clean and pretty, I wish I could weld that good, I cant afford a gas welder I have a cheap Jegs Flux core welder it works for trails and small fixes but nothing as nice as your weld. Love seeing all your projects and fixes!! Please if you can show how to weld so we'll or do a segment on welding lol.
Ya'll maken me want to go grab a Tacoma, wreck it and bring it out to Paul's FabRat Hole to get the Mods put on it - - ! Better than what Toyota had originally.
Yall are real men. I'm trying to be. But the right equipment and tools are out of my range. I would love if you guys would show me the way . Help me please. My dad is a master technician. But he baled on me at 12. . And he taught me nothing. Wish I had one of yall
Would love to drop my Tundra off and see what they create out of it lol. No way I would have the patience to figure all of this out, love the video and amazing work keep em comin!
@@karlt.6507 I have a 2003 Tacoma Extra Cab 4x4 SR5 with a 2.7 5 speed. I love it. Just a great little truck. It rides pretty sweet with adjustable Rancho 7000 series shocks. I wonder how long mine will last. I live in NJ and I've already had to do 2 frame rust repairs. I bought it as-is. Probably somebody traded it in for a newer Tacoma as opposed to having Toyota replace the frame. When it goes it will be another used Tacoma.
Looking sweet! I’m dying to do my 03 4 cylinder Taco, trying to gather parts, my friend who’s a shop teacher here in Long Island and the person responsible for getting me into off-road has a nice Dana 30 HP with HD 44 outers, I want leaf springs, trying to keep the 2.7 4 banger light weight, the only major problem is, there is barely a decent shop ( In a major metropolis ) in my area? And my friend barely has time to work on his 46 flatty , maybe I need to drive to freaking Utah? It would definitely be worth it, you guys do some sick work!
Absolutely beautiful job on the toyo. What kind of cost are you looking at to do a Job like that. I have been a fan since the first time I saw you on Matt’s channel. Please keep up the Great Videos.
Just wondering when we're going to see Paul work on the old Toyota pickup that he found under a tarp not far from his house? I don't think I've ever seen another one like it.
I'm sure you guys know about the gray wire mod actually I don't know if it's the same wire in the 2015 but the 3rd gen 4Runner and 1st Gen Tacoma gray wire mod then you can use the E Locker in any gear and you can use it in two-wheel drive
I can empathize with Matt's pant problem. I was teaching middle school shop. When I picked up the huge router in the tool room my pant seam let go most of the way from my zipper to the belt loop in the back. I managed to pinch my cheeks together and walk to the front of the room and put on a lab coat. I kept telling the kids I just felt like wearing a lab coat...😉
Super cool Paul! You have such an intense talent! Your friends are blessed to benefit and learn from you.
Great to see good friends hanging out, having fun and getting some serious work done at the same time. Keep your friends close like family, be there for them and they'll be there for you. Both Fab Rats and Matt's channel are entertaining, educational, and fun to watch, wishing you all the best and keep the videos coming.
Thanks so much for your kind words!
Keep them Toyota builds coming like watch them
I enjoy watching Fabricators work their magic. You guys are a special breed of artist. Thanks for taking the time to show your work while in progress.
Thanks for watching!
Not only do straight axles make sense, they also look cool!
Nothing more satisfying than a SAS. Love watching this build. I have watched this series about 10 times and am currently looking for another Taco. Great material keep it coming.
Good to see matt out and about for once hes always working lol. Thanks for the new content lab rats
Fab fab fab rats lol. Sorry I think it auto corrected to lad lol. Fab fab rats
No prob.😉 Thanks a bunch for watching!

That's why I loved my 81 Toy Truck. Straight axles and 4 on the floor! Best off-road truck!
Such a good channel and awesome content, realistic and down to earth 👍 you guys put a lot of work into that axle swap, its perfect. Hope your friends pay you a bit for your time
Thank you for watching!!
I love the heavy music whenever Paul's welding or when sparks are flying
its so cool watching you build this front suspension! its amazing how much you got done in this video
Awesome work, your solid axle swap looks well done and it looks like working well too.
Scott seems to love it! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely loved this video with everybody chipping in and helping Is amazing and job well done guys
Paul if you just undo the emergency brake cable mounts you can pull the axle out with everything intact. I just replaced an axle seal on my 2015 Tacoma and this trick saved me a ton of time!
Really enjoyed the Toyota build. Need a how to on how you setup and create the suspension along with parts and sizes.
You guys are awesome at this. I'm an old guy. I wish I could have had this talent. Great videos thanks for sharing. ( Scott looks a little worried about his truck. lol. I don't blame him. I would be worried too. )

Scott loves his truck now.😉

I think I've come up with a new drinking game! Drink when Paul says "Make it permanent" ;)
When you own a welder, everything looks like it should be permanent.
Only if we are drinking Mountain Dew. Otherwise, the fab would suffer. 👍
I specialize in lining things up without measuring.
A valuable skill.
I made sliders just like that for my Rubicon. Only difference was I took a piece of 2" schedule 40 iron pipe, cut it in half and blended them in on both ends. So both ends are rounded to prevent hanging up on rocks.
I just love you guys as its not just go out and buy everything you take the time to make and fix and none of that will do Awesome to watch
Thanks for the kind words! And thanks for watching!
Love the build. Giving me ideas what I am going to do with my tacoma.
Honestly that is the way a Tacoma should come from the factory or at least an option. Nice work fellas.
Thanks for watching!
Easy peazy, Matt’s britches are breezy!
😂

Awesome build....... cool how everyone comes together and puts their experience to help a fella out!!!
Great work on that, it looks terrific! Man, I need that for my 4Runner! I'd love to get rid of that IFS crap, LOL.

Awesome build. Worth every dollar. I have a 2006 was thinking about doing the same thing to mine. You guys are top knotch...❤️💯👊
I reckon that every workshop I have been in has a spirit that for fun, likes to move the bits you need, especially wrenches and reading glasses. You put the wrench down, you don't move and when you reach back for it, it's gone.
I want an update to this rig build. I keep coming back to this project it's so good!
every car in PA NEEDS this mod to handle our crap roads
That was a fun day . I learned a lot ,and most of all ,I gotta pay my debts. Great workmanship, and teamwork. Thanks ,ps and take care of the yard.

Next project ? - yet another Taco mod of course 😜
Great job (x 2) 👍
The Tacoma is just the "best".
Lucky Scott.
A tacoma looks so natural with a solid axle
That was awesome build !! And Matt’s poor pants lmao . Had to watch it twice
Measure for some link bars and build them.... yeah cuz that’s what I do on a Saturday.. VERR NIICE!!

Absolutely amazing what you do 👍
Looks awesome! Nice job! I’d love to have mine done like that..
Love your show!! I have a stretch out tape and sharpie in my pocket every day get some help and go thru two or three a day.
So when going through Fab Rats withdrawal you go back and watch episodes from the beginning that you haven't seen.
I can't believe Paul wears a 38 when I'm much larger than him and was in a 38, 36s now.
Yee.....
Haw....
Old Yoder videos I missed,
Way cool with everyone razing each other
Wash em in freaking cold water! Quit shrinking my pants. FLEX POWER! 👍👍
Just curious, how much weight did this add with the solid axle swap, steel bumpers, and all the steel tubing used for the frame and sliders? Was the engine modified at all? How does it handle the extra weight?
Fun to watch all of you. Go Scott zipper up
Paul spitting sparks from the plasma cutter one minute, then being the recipe whisperer on the phone the next moment!

You are on your way to becoming the premiere Toyota suspension king
Omg I love all the FAB work you do! I have a 99’ dodge 2500 Cummins diesel I’m trying to build a front bumper for, but I just need some help. Lol
Wow. My 2020 Taco is just a few months old but now I want to do an axle swap. This looks so good.
Do it!
Would love to drop my Tundra off and see what they create out of it lol. No way I would have the patience to figure all of this out, love the video and amazing work keep em comin!

U r “THE MAN” nice job nice job!!!!!!!
So much fun here! Love it!
That is a good work. I like it.
I am surprised you do not have a laser to adjust the frame parallel to the ground , of course it has a lot of other use.
At least you had Matt and his eye level there to help with a back pocket hanging off.
The end of the rock sliders should angle to upward so they won't catch.
Toyota on top! Great job men!
You're an artist. Love the content.
Thanks for watching!
Hey! I have that same Mountain Dew problem as Matt and I magically went to a 36".... Hmmmmm.
It happens.😜
So good to see Matt working on a toyota ?
5:29 was that talking about making refried beans, waiting for the s kin to peal ?
Awesome tacos! I love my 19.
I love my 96 Taco! 312K miles on her with the 2.7 L 4cyl with a 5 speed manual.
Would love to do a straight axle on it though.

www.thefabrats.com 👍🏻 good idea on a new shirt design.😉
Damn , what a ditch crawl !
The truck looks awesome.
I have a silver 2015 model.

It just depends on the build!
I would love to have that done to my Ford.
Matt just needed some good ole duck tape.... fix them pants up for good😂😂👍
Gorgeous rig!
I know I'm late on this one but, BAD ASS!!
Just wondering when we're going to see Paul work on the old Toyota pickup that he found under a tarp not far from his house? I don't think I've ever seen another one like it.

U also need a sit down question and answer video people like them when they feel they can interact with yall
Looks like a fun shop :)

Michelle have you been sudy the book on different things that make a vehicle run?
Nice job guys!!!
When my Dad couldn't find stuff in his shed he'd say don't tell me those fricken shed fairies are back again which was code for find it now😂
You’re making customers for life. Meaning me.
Nice!👍🏻
Something is always missing in my shop also
usually with the savages around where I live it stays that way
Hi cousin! My great grandmother was a Pankratz. Only time I've seen that name before today.
