Ol Blue Gets A Doubler

- This is an overview of the installation of an Offroad Designs 203/205 doubler into Ol Blue. This gives us an additional low range for lower gearing. This will help keep the automatic transmission in this truck a little happier when we are out working it on the trails while maintaining the ability to drive down the highway. Plus we had a mud recovery while we were doing that. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Once upon a time, it was all about stretchy ropes. Now everybody's got a wrecker, everybody's got a welder. everybody's doing trail repairs, and don't forget trailers without suspensions. Next, everyone will be backing up. Rory, you sure have been the head cheese of off-road recovery.
Rory, if you start wearing a Cox .049 engine-powered propeller on a beanie, the other channels will start wearing them, too. Well, maybe not Chad since not as much for him to wire.
Can't wait to see how Ol Blue performs with the T-Case upgrades... With lockers it will be truly unstoppable!!
True but ole trailmater is a standard and that is pretty much unstoppable Ivan kind of like you with your diags very good.
Quicksand is real, not just something on Gilligan's Island
Yep, we have it here in Florida, in addition to various types of mud. Red clay mud, black swamp mud, grey clay mud, sand mud, etc. All can stop a stout 4X4 truck.
Most movies and TV tropes have some tiny sliver of truth. Quicksand is real but nothing like it's played out to be in fiction.
Water and sand are denser than humans so humans float rather than sink. People die from it from being stuck in it without help not because they completely sunk in it.
Similar with lava, melted gold, liquid metal. No one is ever going to sink into lava or the others like something out of a movie. Their deaths would be much more graphic as they burned to death on the surface.
On a similar note Billy the Kid did like to see people dance but he was pretty stupid and called people gut shot and squirming in pain "dancing". A lot more sadistic than the TV and movie tropes would suggest.
Or Tarzan movies!
But, Gilligan's island was real.

Don’t get me wrong TH-cam, Trail Mater will always be the soul of the channel but i think Ol Blue might just be the heart now.
Blue is my personal favourite vehicle here on Rory’s channel.

Old Blue getting some new bits and bobs! I see a ray of light from heaven and angels singing.
That mud almost looked like the quick sand we encountered on a trek in '88 during Labor Day Jeep Safari. I nearly lost a shoe when I stepped in it. The next day when we had to drive out on it, we just went as quickly as possible and didn't stop til on dry land!

Glad to see it getting built up, but I'll forever be surprised how good Blue did basically stock. Rory climbed some wild obstacles with open diffs and stock transfer case!

Noticed Mater, and Wiley leaving the shop for a recovery with wheels on the ground. Then for the return their loading on the trailer. Scratching my head over that one.

I'm so confused... We literally drove away from the trailer... Then drove back on it at the end. We didn't have the cameras rolling when we backed off the trailer, but you literally see my white dodge and the gooseneck right there as we head out...
